Georgia State University Top Questions

The common stereotype amongst my peers our geeks and preppy.

There are a lot of different types of students at GSU. Many students are hard workers. They "live" in the library (eating, taking naps, studying, hanging out, etc.) There are 13,500 people visiting the library in the main campus, downtown, everyday (12/06/2011). A lot of people are from mixed ethnicities such as Japanese and white, Hispanic and African American, Korean and white, Chinese and white, black French, etc.There are a good amount of Chinese. Recently, there are a number of Italians and Indonesians coming to the school. They are brilliant at science and math. A number of students are crazy about certain things such as technology and tatoos, or gothic music. There are not a lot of stoners around. People around here are friendly. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, if you go to the courtyard in front of library North, you will likely get live music (unless it's too cold) of sorts like hiphop, rock, techno, pop that attract huge crowds.

Georgia State students do not get the same college experience as other students who go to universities with a formal campus.

At Georgia State University you will find everything. Every race, every stereotype, there are so many different students walking this campus daily its amazing.

Jocks are the popular types. Frat Kids always like to party and have fun Stoners always like to get "high" Geeks are very smart, but are almost always unpopular This stereotype is not very accurate, but movies about high school life portray the stereotypes in these common ways, so students and people think that these stereotypes are accurately correct.

The Asians. The Blacks and the White kids(preppy and hippy)

Generally the undergraduate students are seen as a class of students that don't work very hard or have any challenges involved in their current courses. That is not true for most students! I admit that I see every semester a lot of people who throw their college educations out the door, but I also see a lot of hard working individuals that juggle work and courses. I work very hard every semester and each class holds its own challenges.

I think that the diversity of Georgia State University is a great thing. We have many international students, minorities, and we have the greatest homosexual population of students of any GA college. That provides the students who go here with an opportunity to network with many people from many walks of life.

While some fraternities and sororities like to have fun, they still put on education programs on campus, fundraise for causes, and they find ways to help the community through different community services.
