Lewis & Clark College Top Questions

When I announced that I was going to LC, my friend's mother said, "That's a hippie school. You won't fit in there." She thought that everyone there had dread locks and never showered. Of course, I'm from Indiana, and my friend's mom is conservative and not outdoorsy at all. She was right about the stereotype, though!

Some stereotypes are that there are basically two kinds of people: jocks and hippies; that a lot of people don't take showers; the dating scene is non-existent, just random hook-ups.

Everyone thinks that we are all hippies... but that is not true. People do care for the environment, eating healthy, and being outdoors.

Most people think the everyone at LC is a hippie, and everything is very "chill."

A lot of people think Lewis and Clark students are a bunch of pot-smoking hippies. That it's not a top-level college.

Hippies, rich, semi-spoiled, wimpy/not as hardworking at, say, Reed.

When most people hear that i go to Lewis&Clark College one of two things happen. They either look at me with a most puzzling look because they've never heard of it, or they reply with some sort of hippie comment while laughing.
