The different religious groups and intramural sports teams.

The most popular activities are obviously the sports at LSU.
Robert
Greek life, football, baseball

I think one of the most popular groups on campus would be The Student Ambassadors. I am not a student ambassador but have thought about joining this past year. They are a great group of kids always smiling happy and willing to help you and one student ambassador is your counselor during orientation that helps you get your scheduling and learn more about LSU! I am involved in an honor society the National Society of Leadership and Success where I am the Vice President. It is a great organization if you want to brush up on your leadership skills. Football games without a doubt are the best athletic events! A night in death valley will change your life! LSU does have a reputation for being a party school which I completely agree with. There is literally a bar open every night for a different event. It is so much fun and you are never bored.

The most popular activity at LSU of course is the football and baseball games. You tend to meet alot of people at football games in the student section and tailgating. LSU does some of the best tailgates I have ever seen! Off campus there are loads of things to do and most are only a walk away from campus.
Ariel
They have tons of activities such as Splatterbeat and other activites that are really fun.
Laura
Most popular organizations include: all LSU sports, Ambassadors, Student Government, Greeks, BCM and other college ministries
Jimmy
student athletes are the most popular students at this school because sports are all its about here.

GREEK LIFE ON LSU CAMPUS IS THE MOST POPULAR ACTIVITIES AND CLUBS!! I am not Greek but many community service activities I take part in, there are Greeks doing them too. I am involved with Psychology club, Black Student Union and Volunteer LSu. I am also a mentor. With these clubs, I have met many new people. community service is always fun here. It is never what it seems like, you may thing you are going to be bored, but you are far from bored when you are helping on campus. This is because of the people your with! they are awesome. We also have Tigerland which is a strip of bars that everyone goes to basically any night of the week, The is always something going on off campus and one of the bars is always packed. The first day you come to LSU i'm pretty sure you will here about some party somewhere. Usually, tigerland is the spot!

The most popular student activities definitely has to be the LSU football games. Just about every person from the school goes to the games/tailgates, and a good deal of people not attending the school either! The game days are always crazy, usually starting the day before and not ending until the day after. Which is good that they are on weekends, because most things are usually put aside for the games. I've met a good deal of my friends through the various tailgates/ random seating at the game days of LSU football and I feel that it's a great way to get involved and show your school spirit.

Our most popular events obviously are our breathtaking football games, tailgates. You will never see a more beautiful sight then when you step inside Death Valley, and after the Tigers win or even lose, every LSU student in the student section links arms and Coach Les Miles leads them in the Alma Mater. However thats not the only thing to do, there are well over hundreds of clubs/organizations. Just last semester the creator of RedBox came to LSU to give his story to hopeful business men and women. At LSU if you are bored then you are trying not to have fun

LSU has been distinguished by the Princeton Review as a top "party school." From the frenetic Mardi Gras holiday to the on-campus parties before every home football game, LSU lives up to its reputation, offering many opportunities for students to cut loose and have fun. Athletic events -- including men's and women's basketball, women's soccer, baseball, softball, gymnastics and, of course, football -- are popular among students and are usually accompanied by a festive atmosphere. LSU's Theatre Department, which has performed around the world, is another source of entertainment for students, staging both classics like "King Lear" and contemporary hits like "August: Osage County." A popular annual event is Groovin' on the Grounds, an outdoor concert featuring several musicians that takes place every spring. Musically-inclined students can also attend VooDoo Fest or Jazz Fest in nearby New Orleans. The Baton Rouge River Center also often hosts popular concerts. Nightlife in Baton Rouge is diverse. Tigerland is home to several bars popular with Greek students, while those seeking more mature venues can visit downtown Baton Rouge. Students typically have to venture off campus for entertainment, and buses can provide transportation downtown or to Tigerland. But campus is surrounded by bars, coffee shops and restaurants, so students can sample famous Louisiana cuisine and beer without having to leave the neighborhood.

Greek life is a very popular activity at Louisiana State University. LSU is home to a plethora of fraternities and sororities and they are very competitive but welcoming. Night life is very adventurous. LSU is home to a place known as Tiger Land. It's the perfect place to go with your newfound friends and hit Fred's and Mike's(aka the "club scene")
Matthew
Greek life is very popular, but there are many other opportunities to get involved besides just fraternities and sororities. Athletic events are HUGE. The weekly vibe in the fall in Baton Rouge is totally dependent on how the football team does every Saturday night. Baseball games rule the spring semester and are also very popular in Baton Rouge. We are known for our great athletic program, and the entire town supports our teams.

Volunteer LSU is popular for activities outside of the greek and athletic scene. Res Life is great. Habitat for humanity is too. Honors College is great. Athletics and events are great. Plays put on by the theater dept are always excellent productions.

Some of the organizations I am involved in include my sorority, Student Government, Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Med society, and Greek Board of Directors. While Greek life only makes up approximately 19{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of students, there are many popular activities they coordinate such as Songfest, Stepshow, Greek Week Habitat for Humanity, and Homecoming. There are many pre-professional societies such as Alpha Epsilon Delta, pre-law fraternities, business fraternities, etc. Student Government consists of an Executive staff, Senate, and University court. LSU has a wide range of organizations and clubs in addition to these, though. From intramurals to Quidditch team and leisure art classes like pottery and jewelry making to ballroom dancing, LSU consists of a variety of on-campus activities.

If you're an athlete at LSU, you're set. From the extra resources like the book-loan system, to the star-struck professors, to the gawking opposite sex, and everything in between. LSU is at the forefront in NCAA Athletics, so if you're here as a Division I athlete, expect star treatment all around. With that being said, the weekends in the Fall revolve around football. If it's a home game, plan on waking up early and tailgating all day long (it's way more fun than it sounds). If it's an away game, plan on skipping your friday classes to have an extra day to explore the other SEC college towns with your closest friends.
There's a great guy-girl ratio, with the girls outweighing the guys by just a small margin (that's not a fat joke- our southern ladies are beautiful). Greeks tend to date greek, but that's just because that's all they know (exchanges, parties, date functions). The same could be said for athletes as well, because of similar schedules (practice, workouts, study hall, etc). Everyone else just sort of intermingles when it comes to the dating scene. I feel I must note that the barriers are often broken, so don't think your hopeless in the relational realm if you're not Greek or an athlete- they might not be your type anyway!

Football. Sports in genteral. Drinking--lots of it. Recreational drugs, esp. marijuana. Lots of parties everywhere. The bar scene.
Music appreciation is required and involves weekly concert attendance. The performances are by LSU's symphony orchestra and a host of other groups playing classical music. Of notable exception is the semester’s Jazz concert which is awesome and amazing. I found these concert experiences to be particularly enjoyable.
