Morgan State University is a great post-secondary institution. As with most universities, the experience one receives is based upon what that individual makes of their time at the university. I have attended MSU since 2007 and I been through an immense whirlwind of events. Nonetheless, I believe MSU is a stellar institution that promotes academic honesty and social integrity. The best thing about MSU is the camaraderie amongst the students. Anytime something major happens on the campus the students always band together to either celebrate, mourn, or embrace something. For instance, a memorable moment I will never forget, was in 2008 when President Barack Obama was elected into office. Over 2,000 students joined in the main parking lot and celebrated, screaming and shouting for joy as the first African American president took office.
The size of the school is perfect. MSU is not the largest populated school, however, it is not small either. This environment allows students to have that much needed one on one time with professors. The class size is never too full which means students always have their professor's attention.
If I had one complaint about Morgan State University it would be the lack of technology. Technology is so important in the world and it would be an advantage to the students if MSU offered the latest technological advances. The biggest complaint amongst students would probably be financial aid. I've heard plenty of students complain about the way they were mistreated in the financial aid department as well as students complaining about how slow things process in that department.
Despite some of unfortunate circumstances Morgan State University is an awesome institution. I appreciate the quality education I receive and the great environment MSU provides.

I love the overall atmosphere of the school, yes sometimes it can be boring and you find nothing to do but other times you can have so much fun. Its the people around you that really make the school, not doing anything while attending college would be a complete waste. One thing people can't stand about Morgan is Financial Aid, I will say it is the worst at times, so quick to take money but getting money back is a miracle! Everyone has had their fair share with financial aid and all of their problems, but aside from that morgan is a great school, campus isn't too large or small. The overall appearance of Morgan is increasing as time progresses, plenty of construction is going on and once everything is done I'm sure it will make you look at the university a little differently.

Overall Morgan State University is a promising school that is growing at a ridiculous rate. With a total student population of roughly 8,000 it is still considered a small school compared to other larger institutions. Although the area where the school is located might not be considered a college-town the administrators and local community builders are developing new ideas of how to involve the nearby community on a plan to expand the university and create a college-town atmosphere locally. The school spirit is solid especially around homecoming time and with the recent successes of the athletic teams(Football and Basketball) it is always an exciting spectacle to see how students celebrate and support the teams. The school is not portrayed well in the media due to controversial incidents such as students getting involved in illegal greek life practices, but occasionally the school is celebrated in the media as an institution that excels in the sciences and liberal arts. If students complain about a certain aspect of the university, then they are mostly likely talking about the administrators at the financial services department that handles the finances of all students. Every semester some students go through a dilemma of their schedules being dropped due to miscommunication about their state of financial standing, but eventually with persistence most students resolve their financial conflicts. I personally have not had many conflicts with funding my education, but if I experienced a need for financial assistance there were clear procedures and protocol that I saw available that can help assist my circumstance. As an electrical engineering major most of my time was spent in the engineering building where I ran tests and experiments in the labs as well as studied in the engineering library. My experiences at the school were very pleasant and I would recommend individuals who want to challenge themselves to attend Morgan State University.

I love being a Morgan Bear! I am from Brooklyn, New York; I have no family or friends in the Baltimore area so I was a little nervous about starting a campus life with people I did not know. My fear of starting a social life at college quickly changed as soon as I arrived at Morgan’s Access Program. The Access Program is a program that requires all incoming freshman to spend a week at the Morgan campus, this gave me the opportunity to meet counselors, friends, and it gave me a chance to learn the campus before school officially begun. I was a student who was used to attending small schools, Morgan is by far the biggest campus I have ever experienced, however, I am comfortable here. In the beginning it was a little intimidating but I realized campus isn’t that big after all! It’s not often that I see a face that I do not recognize.
What I love best about Morgan is the school pride and tradition. Students support the football games, basketball games, prep rally’s, convocations, homecoming, and every on campus party. What I love the least is the organization of records. I never personally had an issue with the records and registration, or financial aid offices but I know a lot of peers that have. It takes a great deal of effort and self-dedication to make sure all of your school records are in order; this may include waking up at 8am to make a phone call. If you are self-motivated about your academic career at Morgan, these things will not become a problem.
There are also numerous clubs and Greek life on campus to choose from. I am a model for Fashion at Morgan. I encourage anyone to get involved on campus; it just makes the college experience enjoyable!

My overall opinion of Morgan State University. Is it is what you make it. I keep reiterating this point because Morgan is in fact an HBCU and the experiences and friendships gain over your time here will be something you will never be able to get back. So if you spend most of your time dwelling on the negative you will never get a chance to receive any of the positive. The one thing I feel I would change about the school is the Financial Aid department. It's very unorganized, so stay on your toes and make your your money is processed and in your account on time or your schedule will be dropped. We have alot of Morgan pride, so once you graduate you will be a bear for life. Get to know your Professors and chairperson of your major departments. Joined an organization, Get active in campus life. Morgan State is the place where you will discover your true self. Just make sure it is what you like.

I love my school. We are our on "family". When people talk about Morgan State who do not go to Morgan I take pride in letting them know that Morgan is not ghetto, hood, or any of those negative things that people say. Like every school of course we have thing we could do better but the overall experience that I have gotten here I wouldn't trade for anything else. There is a lot of school pride here we know how to come together. Just last semester we had a sit in at the school library because we wanted the hours to be 24/7. We have the top engineering program in the state of Maryland and we give the most bachelor degrees to African Americans in the state of Maryland. We are expanding campus now and we just got done with renovations on the main yard. Morgan State University is beautiful!

Morgan State University is a very diverse and innovative school. Currently there is major planning and reconstruction happening on campus. Morgan State will be one of the most intriguing campuses in Maryland due to the new landscape and facilities being incorporated. As a music education major at Morgan State, I have the luxury of attending my academic classes such as physics, Spanish, and math while building my craft as a musician. The music classes here at Morgan prepare their students to educators and leaders while enhancing their academic knowledge. The one thing I'd change about Morgan State is the lack of meal varieties in the cafe. Students pay thousands of dollars and barely are able to consume the horrible meals they provide. Morgan State campus needs more variety of vegetarian and healthy places to eat such as Salad Works or Subway. The size of Morgan State is just right depending on your major, for example, if you stay on campus at Blount Towers and your an engineering major you may want to leave for class about 20 minutes before it starts due to the far distance the two are apart, but if you stay at Blount Towers and you’re a music major, the music building is right across the street. So depending on your major, the campus can either be too vast or just right. In my opinion, the Morgan State Band under the direction of Mr. Melvin Miles, is one of the most exciting, electrifying ensembles in Maryland so when I say I attend Morgan State University, people react with delight that I have the pleasure of being a part of such a great ensemble. The band travels all the time all around the east coast playing and marching to some of the greatest modern songs out today. If you don’t have a car and don’t enjoy taking public transportation like myself, you may be subject to staying on campus, but there’s a bus right in front of the dorms that goes downtown Baltimore where there’s plenty to do, such as the mall, movie theaters, and several shopping places. The Baltimore Harbor is a major city attraction located about 10 minutes from campus filled with tourist and many diners to enjoy. David Wilson, Morgan State’s current president is doing a tremendous job encouraging students and keeping up the legacy of former president Earl Richardson. The campus has recently added a PNC bank right in the student center and is currently awaiting the arrival of Auntie Ann’s pretzel shop all under the guidance of Dr. Wilson. Morgan State has a strict tolerance with their admittance. Students are required to maintain a 2.0 GPA and are offered tutoring and private instruction yearly. Our championship winning basketball team is the schools pride. “WE ARE THE BEARS” is our chant during games and pep rallies. The schools spirit is at a rise with sorority and fraternity involvement to build the moral on campus with “I Love Morgan Day”, and “Rep Your School Colors Day”. Although Morgan State is a top notch school, there are many things to improve that students complain about. The fraternities and sororities are serious about getting their “yard” back which is a way to broadcast their fraternity around campus such as tree painting and painted benches. The President is currently finding options to make the campus look organize and meet the Greeks request. Also students complain about the library not having enough computers that print especially during finals week. The one thing I look forward to every year at Morgan State is graduation. This is my last semester. I will be a college graduate in May 2012. The campus spirit during graduation is beautiful. Parents and friends all around campus enjoying themselves with smiles and laughter for their child’s success. Balloons and signs all around, “CONGRATS”, “GREAT JOB”. The thought of this day makes me fill with joy.

My overall opinion of Morgan State University is that we are a family-oriented school. The support system is amazing! We fall, stand, and unite together. Our small-knit community allows us to cross paths with many networking opportunities.

Starting answeringThe best thing about Morgan State University is that they provide students that are disadvantage a chance to better themselves into productive citizens. One thing I will change about Morgan State University is mostly the food quality, and the housing that they provide for students. Morgan State is also growing, and the current size of the campus is quite large right now and it’s only increasing. When I’m on I spend most of my time in class, considering I commute, and if I have any leisure time I’m usually in one of Morgan State university computer labs or library. Overall the administration of the university is great, but need more structure is all that they do, for example financial aid. Recent controversy on campus that has happened in recently, was the sit in, in the library where students wanted longer hours to study. One thing that is unusual about Morgan State University that not negative is that even though Morgan is a HBI it still competes and out beat other TWI in different undergraduate and doctorial programs. !

I LOVE MSU . There is not other school like it because not all schools are the same .
Your teachers ginuwinly care about your education and exahust all endevors to help you . this is a just right school and everyone is the backbone for someone else. We recently had some students who died during FA 2011 semester and everyone came together as a unit . Even the President , Dr. Wilson helped during the trying time . the student who died was considered my brother and everyone loved him.
There is alot of school pride, particulary during the homecoming and game seasons and even after. people come from all over the world to fellowship with Greek Lines , parade helpers and watchers , its really amazing

My opinion of this school has changed over the years. When I arrived for the first time, the campus was under critical construction on four major parts of the campus. At first I felt this process should have began years ago, but now I see how new students can benefit from the new materials, resources, and facilities. The school has about 7,000 students and can be walked from the most northern building to the most southern building in about 15 minutes. There is an abundance of school pride when it comes to involvement in sports and organizations, and they all work together to insure homecoming and major events are something for all to enjoy. This school is unique because it allows you to create your own unique education under certain guidelines of course. For example, I am and Electrical and Computer Engineer with a Minor in East Asian Studies. I have the ability to remain saturated in my technical field, while being exposed to a different way of living. The advisory staff at this institution truly motivate students to be innovative and promote diverse thinking. Overall, this school is great school to attend.

- The teachers care about you; especially in the engineering department.
- I would change the look to it, and make it more student friendly.
- I think Morgan state is just right.
- A lot of people don't know about Morgan, some have mix feels about the school.
- I spend most of my time in the dorm room.
- Baltimore is Morgan's location.
- The school administration is pretty helpful.
- Beyonce and jay z baby's name.
- There is a lot of school pride.
- Nothing unusual to me.
- When i first joined the ROTC program.
- Why does our schedule always get dropped.

my best opinion of this school is that, she has friendly teachers who are ready to work with you and make sure you graduate and become useful to the society and she gives a lot of scholarship opportunities to outstanding students

For a student I know that an important factor in deciding schools would be the staff. I want to say that there are staff at Morgan State University that love the students like their own, like family. The best thing about Morgan State University in the atmosphere for the students, also known as student life. It is great to know that there is always something going on whether that be educational of for recreation. It makes a student feel excited that they can go outside daily and meet new students that attend their school. Overall it is a great and safe time for all.
One thing that I would like to change is to bring more types of food items to the school. We already have a variety on the daily basis but bringing more popular types like chick-fil-a or chipotle, I believe that students and staff would have an increase of appreciation and joy.
Morgan State University is a school that is just right. There are enough students attending that you see a new face everyday. But there are also the right amount of people to where you will notice faces and see friends while you are walking to class or on campus.
When I tell people that I attend Morgan State University their impression is astounding. They either are very excited because they know of the school or have either attended or had family and friends attend. Another reaction is that they state that I go to a very nice school. They go on to say we have a great campus visually, great majors, and amazing faculty that work there. Lastly they remember the band, the sports, and the overall student activities that Morgan is known for.
There are many places that you can spend your time on campus. I would say that I spend a equal amount of time everywhere on campus; from classes, to the dorm room, friends rooms, the student center, outside, and the library. It all depends on a students goals and priorities to where and how long they will spend at each campus location.
There is a college town here near Morgan State University. We are located in the heart of Baltimore, Maryland. For that we are located 20 minutes away from the Harbor which is a great tourist destination and for students as well. There is a boardwalk, shops, restaurants, and other attractions. Also around Morgan State University we are near the Towson Mall, Towson Town Center, and White Marsh. These areas involve a mall, a movie theater, shopping stores, super markets, Walmart, and other activities and necessities for college students. There is also a College Town Shuttle that is available daily that picks students up from surrounding schools and takes them to these hot spots as well.
The administration at Morgan State University is based on community service. They are there to help you in any way you need. Many of the administration are open and friendly and end of becoming friends or parent like figures to many of the students. I know personally that there are a hand full of administration that I talk to weekly even during breaks.
As for school pride there is a lot of school pride from current students, future students, and the alumni. You will see many people attend sports events and other functions. The biggest display of school pride would be during homecoming and for I Love Morgan Week. Our school and alumni go through a lot to make these times memorable for all who attend.

I love Morgan State University it is a well known HBCU and if faculty sees that you are interested in work they will most definitely look out for you. One thing I'd change is our access to information compared to other schools surrounding us as well as transportation to places off campus (mall, grocery, etc) The student population is just right so you aren't just a number, professors will pay attention to your needs if you make them known. There's a lot of school pride and students who attend love their Morgan family and the lasting memories and experience they've had.

My overall opinion of the school is positive. The best thing about the school is the diverse student body, the level of difficulty to gain admission, and the student based organizations and clubs. one thing I would improve is the student and faculty relationships. This can be done by simply encouraging opportunities for networking.. The size of the university is just right, giving students just enough time to commute from class to class. When i tell people I attend Morgan State University they coveny a level of respect and pride.

The best thing about Morgan is the resources. If ever i have a question or i am unsure of anything there is someone who can help. The staff is kind and patient with students. If they cannot answer your question, they will point you in the direction of someone who can. One thing about Morgan that i would change is its required student body meetings. I think there should be a little more in place to make us feel more as a unit then as divided as it sometimes feels. the student body is just right. Classroom sizes are perfect and professors are always willing to help those in need. People are proud and ask many questions about Morgan once i tell them that i am a student there. They ask if i would recommend they attend, and i always do. When on campus i spend most of my time in the library or in the student center. Both amazing new facilities that have anything a student may need to be successful. There are other schools within 10 minutes of Morgan that we often have parties with. The biggest recent controversy on campus was the Death of former Mr. Morgan Julian Benson. He was in a drunk driving accident however, this tragic event was an eyeopener to many on campus. It bought the Morgan community together and a calm throughout the campus. At football and basketball games students those living on campus and commuters alike come out and support the bears. One experience from Morgan that i will never forget is my first homecoming. There were so many people from the community that came out to support the school its history and most importantly our football team! The most frequent student complaints are the hours of the campus canteen and the lack of stability with the wireless connection.

Morgan State is a large university but it is still small enough to where you get to meet a lot more people throughout your years on campus. Because the classes are smaller than most universities, it makes it easier to communicate with professors and classmates during the semester. The only thing I would like to see changed is some of the school participation at events and more funding. We do not have many food options to choose from.
Chauntia
My overall opinion of the school is that it has very very educated teachers, not only will you learn about the subject but you will learn about life. The things I have learned in this university go far beyond information in textbooks. Every teacher I've had has come with wisdom they've passed down to us. The school is not perfect though, when it comes to financial aid being a hassle and schedules being dropped for no certain reason it makes it difficult to focus on the good that comes with school. The students are divided by those who are into school activities, groups, and organizations, and those who are their to party and have fun. It is easy to fall into the wrong crowd if you are not strong minded and in school for the right reasons. The teachers in my department which is psychology are always available to talk and easy to confide in if you have a problem. Being at Morgan you have to do alot of growing up, the school will not hold your hand. You have to stay on top of making your schedule, financial aid, passing your classes, knowing how to get a override, etc. The schools location was another thing I didnt like because it was in balitimore city, its very busy not much of a college location. Though it is close to other colleges that have more of a college scenery, such as Towson University. Their is a mall, walmart, etc. on that side of town which is nomore then 10 mins away. The campus is beatiful and they are still improving the campus. You have to be aware of your surrendings at all times, the school has had many crimes reported, robbery being the main one, Like i said before the school is in Baltimore city. Overall I enjoy and love my school very much, mainly because of my professors and what I have learned about my own history going to a Historically Black University!
