Nevada State College is an amazing school. I began as a Pre-Speech major and graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Language Pathology. On campus, I have always felt incredibly safe. The facilities are updated and warm. The Speech Language Pathology faculty in particular are attentive, caring, and welcoming. I never felt outcasted or alone in the program.

I started at Nevada State University in the Fall of 2023, and since enrolling, it has been the best college experience of my life. I've attended four different schools. Everyone is so accommodating, empathetic, and excited to help you succeed on your academic journey.

Nevada State University, formerly known as Nevada State College, is an incredible school! Campus is very safe and calm. As of now, there is a lack of resources around campus. There are limited shops, services, and places to eat. However, due to the recent name change Nevada State University has undergone, we hope to see an improvement in that. Despite that, the academic quality of this school is incredible. All the professors are genuinely interested in seeing students succeed. The class sizes for lectures do not get any larger than 40. There is a lot of support offered to students here, no one is ever alone! If you ask me, academic quality is more valuable than shopping areas.

Nevada State College is excellent in both academics and social life. Despite the fact that the school is small, there are many events to attend and the social life is excellent. The staff is extremely friendly, and professors take their time when assisting students. There are many resources available to help students succeed, such as SI or 24 hour online tutoring, and they even care about mental health, with counselors on hand. Overall, Nevada State College is an excellent educational institution.

I am currently a freshman at Nevada State, so I can not have much opinion. I have only been on campus a couple of times. I have enjoyed my experience so far. The classes are small, so I always feel included. The campus is clean, and a safe place. It is easier to meet new people, and easier to reach for help. I want to continue attending Nevada State College, I love everything about it.
Joanie
So far, so good. It's convenient for me location wise; were I to take similar classes elsewhere I would have to drive across town. The campus is small, and the class is size is just right to me. The teachers have definitely been excellent as well; knowledgeable, approachable. The caliber of the levels are better than the community class I was at.
Alejandra
I love Nevada State! All the advisors have been very helpful with me signing up for the Fall. I had been struggling to finish school because everyone that I would go to for help would just send me away. I was even told to pick a different career because they said that I wasn't good enough for the program I was enrolled for. I applied at Nevada State because a friend recommended it and I absolutely love it. Everyone is so nice and helpful. I am 100% sure that I will be graduating from Nevada State.
Irma
Flexible campus for the diverse population it serves. Although Nevada state may be considered somewhat a distance from the hustle and bustle of the Las Vegas strip. Nevada State College makes up for it distance from downtown Las Vegas by offering a serene educational environment for All students to enjoy.
Taya
Nevada State College is the way to go. Students are able to acquire the information they need for the future. The staff is incredibly caring and are there to help. I have never seen a staff so committed to their students before. As I was sitting outside, multiple staff members walked by and greeted me. I always feel welcomed whenever I step foot into Nevada State College!
Tori
It is a great environment to be in because you are given the opportunity to grow in knowledge since you have the chance to have one-on-one's with your professors and do not feel overwhelmed by it being too overpopulated with students.
Andrew
Nevada state college is known for its smaller class sizes, easily accessible professors, and vast cultural diversity. Matter of fact, it is the second most diverse school in the nation. These two facts help me prove why Nevada state college is worthy of its overall four-star rating. Along with that is the professor's willingness to help and the many available resources on campus. Like any other school it has its challenges, however, it is still a great school that I would recommend to future college students.
LaDonna
NSC is a great school, I enjoy attending. All the professors I have had contact with are willing to help you be a better student. The teachers in the nursing program have a lot of experience in the class and in practice. I have a will recomend NSC to any student who wants to further their education at a decent price.
Nathaniel
Great School for learning and having a close relationship with professors. The classrooms are smaller which means better team involvement and meeting new people to network with, but the school is not the best when it comes to on-campus involvement and housing.
Kaylee
Small campus makes it easier to get help and talk to professors. There are no such thing as stupid questions. If you need help you can talk to anyone. We are like a big family. The campus is always clean and the professors will treat you like a friend.
Donovan
Aside from being so far out, Nevada State College is an excellent alternative to going to UNLV. Nevada State College is a great blend between the size of a community college and the coursework of a full college/university. The class sizes are good, multiple classes are offered online, and I have had great experiences with the professors. I can't complain at all!
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Nevada State College is 76%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Overall, I’ve had an amazing college experience and Lincoln College has been very valuable for me to attend. Lincoln has helped me grow more as a student and individual. Lincoln College is a community college, however it offers the opportunities that four year schools offer, like finding independence away from home. Being in small classes helped me do well and achieve good grades because I got individual attention from the professor. I also made a lot of great friends from those classes. All the hard work paid off because I was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Iota Chi the following semester. Phi Theta Kappa is an international honors society of two year colleges. Being part of this organization was a great opportunity for me, because it got me more involved at Lincoln. I was elected Vice President of our chapter this year. In addition, Lincoln College has given me the chance to not only be a leader academically, but also socially. As a sophomore, I was hired to be a Student Resident Assistant which has been very valuable to me because I help influence good values on other students, so they can be just as successful as me.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
I think that the only thing I do not like about NSC is that it is such a new school that their funding is not as great as the funding for other colleges therefore the library, book store, and overall campus is limited. This requires students to look elsewhere for things such as library book, supplies, and even classes. The college deserves more funding because the faculty and students are so devoted to the school and deserve the best.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about my school is how far I have to drive to get there. My school is in the middle of almost nowhere, which is far from almost everything. I have to drive for at least 10 minutes to get lunch.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
Like every school I have attended, I wish I would have known the tricks of the trade. Knowing what professors are best, where to find the best parking and other details of the system are things that I wish I would have known before attending school there.
Anyone who knows what they want to make out of themselves should attend this school. Someone who can see themselves in a nursing program or with a degree in Psychology. That's just not me
I love Nevada State College because of the fact that it is a smaller college which means that I am able to receive more one on one time with my professors. By having professors who are devoted to advancing my own education I have been able to maintain at least a 3.6 GPS or better. The faculty at NSC is devoted and make it a point that they love what they do which encourages myself and other to futher our education.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
The kind of person that should not attend Nevada State is a person who has been misguided, and quite obtuse, about what ingredients are necessary to create a learning environment that can exist peacefully and successfully.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.

49% were awarded federal grants.21%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
