Quinnipiac University Top Questions

Describe the students at Quinnipiac University.

Jo

For the most part QU is the typical suburban , upper white middle class school, with a few "other" in the mix. If you want a diverse campus QU is not the place for you but academically and socially it is.

Jess

mostly caucasian

Blake

Most QU students are from the New England area, and although we may not be a diverse campus everyone comes from a diverse background. It is tough because I would like there to be more diversity among students and I do not feel that Quinnipiac promotes that enough.

Kellie

I went to a parochial high school just outside of Boston with approximatly 450 student. By itself, my graduating class of around 220 had more diversity than you will find among all undergraduates at QU. I never thought I would realize the importance of diversity on a college campus. Students need to be exposed to different lifestyles, cultures, personalities and religions in order to become well rounded individuals.

lauren

there are some organizations on this campus who think that the world revolves around them. they think they are superior to all the other students here. the other issue with the student body is that no one cares. about anything. ever.... the world is melting? oh well. cancer is killing everyone? ive got to get to the bar. without a doubt quinnipiac is one of the most apathetic campuses ever.

Cody

I have never had a problem, however I'm apart of majority of the student body. Most kids wear jeans or sweats. Yea, I think different types of students do interact with each other. Most Quinnipiac kids are from the New England/Mid Alantic states. A few students do come from money but most of my friends when they graduate will be paying back loans. I'm one of very few of my friends who isn't going to be paying back student loans. No I would say most students are no politicially aware or active. Most kids don't talk about how much money they might earn after college.

Drew

i find that quinnipiac's student body needs to become more diverse

Wally

what do most students wear to class?? pajamas!! although there is the odd person who gets all dressed in designer wear.

lauren

The student body is as diverse as it can be considering most kids come from the north east. I feel like the school needs to expand its out of state and region acceptances if they want true diversity.

morgan

Not a lot of diversty. Have been a lot of racial hate crimes. Most students are very well dressed in designer clothes. Most students from NJ, CT and NY. Most students come from well off families. Tables in the cafe would include Freshman, Hockey players, Lacrosse players, Sororities/Fraternities.

Danielle

There is must more diversity at QU than compared to my own town. The dance team I am on is the most diverse club on campus. There is much interaction between people of diverse backgrounds. We have students from South Africa in our hall. Most students are from the North East but you do get people from all over, like South Africa.

Jenna

We do not have much diversity

Samantha

We are not a very diverse campus-that is something I do not like about this university. Many students are from the northeast/new england area. We are also a very apathetic campus.

Alex

I think that pretty much everyone at Quinnipiac is the same. Students aren't pollitically aware and everyone pretty much cares about themselves.

Danielle

-tons of student groups on campus -most students from the north east, come from mostly wealthy backgrounds -not very much diversity, if at all

Ashley

There is not much diversity here on campus, which is our greatest downfall. I would like to see this change in the near future.

Jess

prodominantly white a lot more girls than boys everyone is either from new york(westchester, or long island) or new jersey

alyssa

an emo/gothic kid would feel out of place at qu. students mostly wear sweats to class esp if they live on campus they roll out of bed and go to class. most students are from the northesast mainly ny and ct. and most the kids are rich kids

Taylor

The student body is not very diverse, most people are white middle class catholics. most students wear all the same clothes, uggs, black northface's and abercrombie/american eagle etc. Different types of students do interact there is just not very much diversity overall. I think that our school is not politically aware but that may just be because i am not.

Courtney

Students that attend this school are mostly white and from middle to upper class economically. There is little diversity here. There are some people who are here just to party and some that are actually here to learn. We are known as the most apathetic school, people are not involved in politics.
