School does what it can to entertain students. Drinking is number one activity here. If you don't drink, I wouldn't recomend coming here. Weekends are party based or clubbing. Social groups especially greek life is hated by the school.

There is always something to do here. Because of this it becomes a motivation to get your homeworl done so you can go out or hang out with friends.

The town of Hamden is not terribly exciting; it consists mainly of strip malls and chain stores. However, the city of New Haven is just a drunken bus ride away.

PARTY.. Quinnipiac kids know how to party. Thursday-Saturday kids party. i met my closest friends through my dorm freshmen year. i love my friends. i drank last weekend. if i am awake tuesday at 2 am, i am either doing homework or talking to my friends.

People tend to stay on campus a lot. Night life in New Haven is a lot of fun with many of the surrounding colleges going there too. Athletic events are pretty popular, but mostly the hockey games are well attended. There are 2 frats and 3 sorrorities on campus. They are popular but by no means take over the campus. It isn't for everyone, so it is completely your chioce. Quinnipiac is not a "party" school per say, but there are a lot of parties that go on Friday nights being that Thursday and Saturday are bar nights.

SPB is HUGE on campus. They plan 99{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the activities on campus. They do a great job! There is always something going on!

Some athletic events are pretty popular at QU. Our men's hockey and soccer teams are decent competitors, and everyone loves to show school spirit at the basketball games.

People here go out to New Haven every thursday and saturday. Friday is spent in Hamden whether it is at an on campus party, local bar, or house party. Its like a large high school in the respect that the sports teams here are treated like gods. The best way to meet a girl here is to be on a sports team, if youre not its kind of hard but not impossible. If youre not drinking on a saturday night theres nothing to do. There are two frats on campus and there all a bunch of losers for the most part, but they think they run the campus. With the new arena a lot of people go to the basketball and hockey games. Those teams are pretty good.

We have a large amount of athletes per student. You seem them everywhere. People are mostly friends with people in their hallway or friends from class, but it's definetly hard to show up to parties and not recognize a lot of the people. It's easy to have friends here and keep them. People party every weekend, and often drink on weekdays. Thursday is a party night, hands down.
Sarah
You do not need to be a part of Greek life to make friends. Alot of people choose to drink and party on the weekends but if it is not your thing, there are activities every Friday and Saturday night on campus.
Ryan
Seriously...trust me...everything's great here when it comes to fun. Plus the females overpower the guys at a 60-40 ratio. : ) THAT is a fact, not a stereotype.
Stephanie
Clubs are quite popular at Quinnipiac. People live on campus till senior year which ensures many friendships and always something to do.

Most people just join some form of sports team. Eh, whatever. Go ahead and play your childhood games if you please. The dating scene? There is no dating scene. Theres a one-night-stand scene, and a lets-date-and-get-into-a-melodramatic-fight-about-how-he-slept-with-another-girl scene, but other than that.... eh nevermind, people just like to fuck.
Oddly enough, people dont really smoke here. Kinda smelly in the dorms, ya know? Umm, the musical events are pretty cool, theres a couple of local bands on campus.
Mel
Hockey and Basketball are the most popular thing up in our new TD Bank North arena's. They're amazing.

The men's hockey team is the most popular team in the winter. In two freshmen dorms, the doors stay open by themselves, so the doors are open if someone is in the room. However, in the other two freshmen dorms, the door automatically closes, so the doors aren't open as much. People party every weekend, however, they also study so the weekend before finals is quiet. Greek life is not important because there are no on campus houses. There are only 3 sororities and 2 fraternities. On a Saturday night without drinking, a student can go to an on campus event such as a movie.
Sara
If it wasn't for joining a sorority my sophomore spring, I probably would have graduated with maybe 4 friends, including my 2 roommates. People say joining Greek Life is like paying for your friends, but whatever, I found a bunch of girls who I can be myself around, which is so important. After I graduated, most of my friends moved back home, but I was still at QU for grad school. I ended up becoming very close with some of the girls in the sorority who were a year below me. I really can't stress how great it was to join. Greek Life gets little respect on campus, even though we do a lot for different charities. Granted, we like to have fun, but at the same time, we help others.

There are a lot of clubs and intramurals if you are not involved in D1 athletics. Sororities and Fraternities are popular, but do not make up the bulk of campus activity. Hockey games on Friday nights are extremely popular.
Tara
Students in the freshman doors definitely leave their doors open to meet new people, but in the later years it is less common. Events are not too popular; sports are the only thing that really attracts a decent amount of students. People party every weekend, including Thursdays. Fraternities and sororities are not popular here. On a Saturday night you can go to the movies or go to a QUAD (QU After Dark) event on campus, instead of drinking.
