The most popular groups/clubs are greek organizations or the sports teams. I am involved in a greek organization. Students always leave their dorm doors open and students are always walking around. Hockey and basketball sporting events are pretty popular while theatre and most guest speakers are not. If I am awake at 2am on a Tuesday, I am usually studying. I met my closest friends through rooming and through friends of friends, and through my sorority. People party Thursday night through Saturday night and sometimes throughout the week. Greek life is pretty important but you don't have to be part of it. You can watch movies and just hang out if you are not drinking on Saturdays. There are also other events to do.

There are so many clubs on campus that one can join, and I am actually in about five of them. The social life here is good as well. Many people go to the nearby town, New Haven. However, there are many events sponsored by QU After Dark that sponsor movies and fun events on the weekends that do not involve drinking. These events are actually very popular among the campus social life.
Laura
The social life here at QU is good. I am involved in Phi Sig and i love the greek life here and i have only been in it for a few months!

students leave their doors propped open but no one really communicates in the upper class dorms. Hockey games are popular but nothing else is. closest friends from my freshman hallway. If I'm up late i'm doing homework. May weekend used to happen but the school likes to cancel it. People party alot. Frats/ sororities are only important if you're in them.. if not you dont like them. last weekend i drank but also went out to dinner and to the movies. I don't need to drink every weekend. dinner, movies, bowling,

The most popular groups on campus are either the Greek Life or the Student Government. No students do not realli keep thier dorm rooms open. In ledges and Commons you are really not allowed to and well most kids just wont. Frats and Sororities are very important to me becasue I am in one. They are my life, they are where i've found my closests friends and the people who I go to everything with.
Carolyn
Greek life is great!

At QU people usually party Thurs-Sat...there is a shuttle that takes students to near by new haven...on thurs. many students go to clubs such as Hula Hanks and Hammer Jaks in new haven. on saturday everyone goes to Toads Place in new haven as well. Friday night people usually stay on campus, hopping from party to party. However, if you don't drink there are tons of school sponsored activites every weekend such as movies..games..contests...really anything, they come up with really creative ideas each week.

Everyone's door is always open, and I really think that's how most people meet their friends freshman year. My closest friends all lived in the same corner of Ledges, and nothing has really changed.
Jessica
students in droms leave their doors open; people party a lot in dorms and off campus; fraternities/sororities are active but not liked too much
Barbara
I am apart of Phi Sigma Sigma, and I'm so glad I joined. I met some amazing women and I feel great when I participate in Greek activities and our philanthropies.

Depending on the dorm you reside in, depends on whether or not you leave your door open. During freshman year most doors are open because we want to get to know one another. People usually just stop by and give you a friendly hello. On the weekends, Quinnipiac students usually travel into New Haven and party at the local clubs and bars. May Weekend is usually the big event of the year that people look forward to. It is the weekend before the last week of classes. Quinnipiac clubs sponser events throughout the weekend, last year we have comedians from the show "who's line is it anyway?", food vendors, moon bounces etc.; unfortunately, it will not be happening this year. Those that are not involved in Greek life continue to stereotype those that are involved. Members of the Greek life community work hard to unite the campus and well as the other members of the sororities and fraternities.

Greek life is small but powerful. It is unlike other schools in that we do not have sorority or fraternity houses, thus, taking away from the chaos that other schools have in regards to out of control Greek partying. Instead, Greeks hold leadership positions in almost every club on campus including student government and residential life.
Marisa
Greek life is an increasingly important part of Quinnipiac life. We currently have 3 sororities and 2 fraternities on campus that not only accomplish awesome things individually, but also work together to exemplify community service and philanthropy as a whole. For example, my sorority, Phi Sigma Sigma, holds an annual Rock-A-Thon every Fall to benefit our philanthropy, The National Kidney Foundation and we raised over $7000 this year.
QU also hosted Relay for Life this year for the first time and as a campus (Greek life included) we raised over 100,000!
Liz
I am part of a sorority and i feel like they should be more prominent and important on campus. Greek life is such a small percentage of our population and i think it should be embraced and treated with much more respect. More people should become involved etc.
Chris
One organization that I'm involved in on campus is the Student Programming Board, which puts on events from about 7-10 PM every Friday and Saturday night. These events include everything from guest speakers, to comedians, to movies, to concerts.
It depends on what the event is how popular it is - concerts usually sell out, while a speaker may not be as popular.
These events are open to all students, and are alcohol free, so if you're not looking to party on the weekends there are plenty of things to do. Partying is not really pushed on anyone hear, but if you're looking for a party it's guarnateed you're going to be able to find one on any given weekend.
In my dorm, our hallway is very close and most of the girls leave their doors open, which allows us to socialize, and we've all gotten to know eachother really well. My room and the room of girls across the hall from us are all living together next year, and they have become some of my best friends.

- most of my closest friends here are either my roomates or people i live near
- reslife does a good job choosing your roomates
- frats/sororities are community based
- lots of stuff to do off-campus, clubs, etc...
- lots of school-wide events weekly
Nicole
Students almost always leaves their doors open especially in the beginning of the year. Towards the middle of second semester it is not seen as commonly, but you already know your hallmates so just a knock and they come on in. On the weekends the school is a decent party school, however, I know enough people that do not drink and they still have fun on the weekends.
Laura
There is always something to do on campus!

The most popular groups on campus are Greek Life and sports team. I am currently a sister of Alpha Chi Omega. Students like to go to sporting events, especially hockey games. Freshman and Sophmore year dorm room doors are always left open. Junior year its a like harder due to the dorms themselves.
