Saint Louis University is a great place to find people with similar interests. The campus is very diverse in terms of political views as well as interests and backgrounds, so it's not difficult to find someone like you! SLU is more academically focused than sports-oreinted.

Slu is a very welcoming university, off the bat of arriving on campus I was greeted with such joy and happiness. It’s been very easy to make friends as freshmen everyone is so nice and open about meeting new people, even the professor's. Classes are manageable and Im so greatful for slu being considerate of your mental health balancing the school and personal life.

As a visitor ( will be attending this school in the fall ) I would say Saint Louis University is a pretty good college! The campus itself is pretty safe, you only really have to worry when venturing outside of it in the city. The culture/environment is nice and welcoming.

I love the school. It provides me with everything that I need, and it helps me to get acquainted with the city. There are so many places to visit once you leave campus, and because it's in the middle of the city, you can walk to many of these places. You don't need transportation if you go to SLU because you have the metro, and many of the places you want to go to are within walking distance. It also has many direct programs when it comes to medicine, and let me tell you, you want to get into a direct program. It will make your future easier. SLU also has one of the best graduate programs for nurses, and you can only really get into it if you attend SLU for your undergrad.

When you first arrive, Saint Louis University is welcoming and it is an incredible place to be. However as you spend more and more time at the university, you begin to notice more and more flaws. Although many faculty members do care about the quality of the student\'s lives, it appears that the university is a money-hungry beast that only has one thing on its mind. They typically nickel and dime students over frivolous matters go so they can fatten their pockets a little bit more. I am very grateful for the opportunities that SLU has presented to me; but without a doubt, there are countless things I would change about the university.

I love SLU. Initially, I thought it would be super boring because of the area around campus. But do not let that fool you, SLU has so much to offer its students. There are so many places to have fun around campus & making friends is super easy. You can always find people out at any time of night & they feel safe doing so because SLU patrol is always around, keeping the fun safe. ;)
Brenna - 11/04/2020
SLU is a really fun place. It takes COVID-19 very seriously and the academics are great. SLU is also being more proactive about its history and recognizing its students' struggles. SLU is also located in beautiful Midtown St. Louis. It really is a great university. While SLU is by no means a perfect university, there are countless excellent students and staff working to improve it every day.

Saint Louis University has a great university for those looking for a good education while enjoying their experience. It has a beautiful campus and located in the middle of the city that has a great amount of activities and places to see. The students are all friendly and you're guaranteed to find a group of friends for yourself. As for academics, SLU would fit students seeking a degree in a sciences or engineering field, but not so much for any artistic aspects.
Cayce - 04/28/2020
I think it is a great school full of diverse individuals that have opened my eyes to different avenues of life. The academics push me to become the best student, while campus life fits perfectly into the a happy medium of how active it is. If I could change one thing , I would bring back Chick-fil-A.
Rose - 04/20/2020
I absolutely love SLU. I cannot express enough how thankful I am for SLU and everything it has given to me. Students will tell you that it's the people who make all the difference and it's so true. I have met my best friends, my future bridesmaids here. There is always something to do, and honestly, coming here is the best decision I have ever made.

I believe that Saint Louis University is an outstanding college for anyone willing to put in the work and achieve their goals. Saint Louis University is a top choice school for anyone in the area looking for a school of medicine or school of law. Saint Louis University is one of the biggest medical schools in the Saint Louis area.

I have only been at SLU for a short time but so far my experience has been wonderful. Everyone on campus whether they are a student or a faculty member treats you with respect. There are so many things to do on and off campus. I believe I made a great choice when deciding to attend Saint Louis University.
Claire - 09/06/2019
This is my dream school and I couldn't be happier with my choice to attend SLU! I love the campus and everything about the school. The people are amazing, as well as the teachers. The campus is safe, and clean, and we have everything we need on campus. We also have a wonderful area of programs for all majors.

As a first generation college student and St Louisan, I was excited and very much proud to attend Saint Louis University. I was soon met with disappointment and rejection. The academics are renowned locally and nationally so the education is undoubtedly superb, but the personal experience for minorities is terrible. I did try. I joined clubs and sports organizations alike, but just like in class, I was ignored or expected to be a stereotype representing the likes and culture of my entire race. Diversity and inclusion are marketed fiercely, freshmen are even required to attending a diversity and inclusion seminar. That did not stop the racist acts the occasionally made the news in Saint Louis (swastikas and the n word incidences). Eventually I left because my program was eliminated, my major was changed along with my anemic advisor very year, each knowing less than the last for 3 years. I was put in classes I did not need and that were too advanced. Therefore I failed a class, lost my scholarship, and left as I could not afford the extremely high tuition. Also it is smack dab in the middle of a dangerous city where students get robbed and one girl even got her throat slit for her iPhone. I hope this helps someone who is unsure.
Mackenzie - 07/25/2019
A highly academic place. Great for people who love to learn and enjoy an urban environment. There is a very service heavy list of extracurriculars and could use a wider range of clubs. The campus is absolutely beautiful but could use some food and shopping that is closer to campus but has everything that you could need within a couple minutes drive.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Saint Louis University is 64%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell myself to call the university and see if they still offer the major you're interested in. I couldn't get into the university of my choice because I wasn't a top ten percent student. However, they offered me a program where I attend a sister university for my freshman year and take thirty hours. I met the requirements and transfered to The University of Texas at Austin, only to find out that they discontinued zoology as a major. I feel like I worked so hard just to get into a school that doesn't teach what I want to learn. I plan to finish my basics here, but I plan on transferring again to another university. I'm a simple person who doesn't like change, but here I am - switching schools every year. Whenever I get situated in a new location, make some new friends, and get used to my surroundings, I end up leaving and starting over again. If I knew that the university didn't have my major, I would have never applied to it and I would've been much better off. This advice alone would impact my life profoundly.
My classmates are all working adults and we all want to succeed in life. We have experienced the highs and lows of life and now at a point in life were we want to focus on success.
smaller school in a big city, always something to do. most frequent complaints are about the lack of financial aid and the fact that father biondi doesn't address student needs at all. faculty is excellent
I'm an occupational therapy student and am completely in love w/ my major. The teachers are amazing and all know my name. The requirements are rigorous but not impossible. I know that my degree will actually mean something when I graduate from slu.
A person who values friendliness and is not too competitive. Someone who is not a big football fan. If you are smart and want to relax in undergrad, but still get a respected degree, this is the place.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
The head of the program. Her name is Dr. Zeigler. She knows the industry of court reporting and is a leader. She nurtures and supports her students like few I have had the pleasure of meeting.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
The Jesuit teachings of challenging the status quo. The focus on a warm learning environment for students to study in or socialize. At SLU, there is an emphasis on forming the whole person to be able to be productive and responsible members of society after leaving with a notable education.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Saint Louis University is a great school with so many great opportunities. It is a wonderful place for any person to come to learn and discover themselves. I would not exclude an type of person from coming here for a great education; it is an incredible place to learn and find new interests to endulge in.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
Having a social life is difficult sometimes. There are only parties in apartments and you need to know people having the party to get in to it. However, they are a lot of frat praties. The party though are off-campus. There never seems to be must entertainment on campus.
Where is the best place to get work done on campus?
Depends on what you are looking for.
I go to Pius library a lot, which is open 24/5. The only days it closes are Friday and Saturday nights.
I am a big fan of working in the Business school, because I like the background noise and breakout rooms. I go to the law library when I need to get a lot of homework done, and when I am on the medical center, I go to the med school library or our new education union student lounge.
If I want to spice things up, a coffee shop called cafe Ventana is really close to my residence hall, and they serve the best chai tea lattes I've ever had.
