Savannah College of Art and Design Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about Savannah College of Art and Design? Why?

Donald

The worst thing about SCAD may be the mentally of students to stay up late to finish projects and sometimes procrastinate. This is especially deadly at finals or midterms. There is a running joke that people say. It is that SCAD stands for "Sleep Comes After Death". Last year I fell into this trap. However this current year I get much better sleep and produce higher quality work. This is an example that someone doesn't need to stay up till 2am every night to finish a project.

The Savannah College of Art and Design is a fantastic school with a lot of assets and resources. However, the cost of attendance is ridiculous for the average student.

The drug use. Acodring to most people the drug and alcohol use is higher than an average school, because it helps to "create". It doesnt bother that badly but I would like if m roommate(s) didnt come home drunk or high all the time.

The worst thing I consider about my school is the price it cost to attend such a beautiful and magnificent place. With being there for almost one year, I will have to transfer in the fall to attend another school that is affordable.

Raven

The worst things about my school is really the cost. It's incredibly expensive and can really be daunting if you don't have financial aid or enough of it. That's really it. Just the cost alone.

Amanda

Tuition rates are unbelievable!

Emily

The amount of money I have to pay to attend this school is extremely high I've worked the same job every break I get from school for the past two years and will have to use all of the money I've made to pay for one term. The school has also decided to recently raise tutition. My parents are on their hands and knees trying to help me get through school without going into debt.

The organization of the bus schedules on certain days, they plan school days and invite potential students and theif families on midterm and finals weeks, and shut down the whole bus system just for the use of the visitors. I also don't like the segregation of the Savannah campus. Because every department is at a different building, there's little to no interaction between all the different majors. It's elitist and infuriating.

Matthew

While the campus is a beautiful place that is rich in history, charm, and indictative of the artistic environment it was created for, it is not a campus. The buildings and dorms are spread out through the downtown area in Savannah. There is great transportation and ease of getting around; however, a enclosed campus would foster a more cohesive environment and a clearer view of all that is truly available.
