The tradition. Everyone says its dumb, but let me tell you, they are wrong. Because looking from the outside in you can't understand it, and looking from the inside out you can't explain it.

The Christian environment even though it's not a Christian school. Pretty much everyone on campus treats everyone with respect. There are plenty of ways to get involved and the students are outgoing and helpful.

Texas A&M is unique because of the overwhelming sense of unity among all Aggies. If you walk anywhere on campus, it is not uncommon to be greeted by a dozen people with a simple “Howdy” along the way. Every single Aggie respects each other, and at any time you can ask a stranger for help and they will stop what they are doing and lend a hand. The most amazing sign of this unity is at Silver Taps, when all the students come together one night each month and honor any Aggies who died the month before.

Definitely the friendliness. Anyone and everyone is willing to help you if you're lost, hold a door for you, or just say "Howdy" as you walk by. I love that atmosphere we have here.

TAMU has one of the friendliest campuses; students regularly went out of their way to show me around campus during my orientation. No where else are you encouraged to say "Howdy!" to complete strangers. Speaking of, no one holds the sacred institute of 'traditions' more dear than an Aggie; in fact, anything done at least twice is officially a tradition, and must be done again next year. Finally, once an Ag, always an Ag. The loyalty expressed by former students truly makes A&M unlike any other school.

The most unique thing about my school would be the strong school spirit. Nearly everyone who attends this university is very proud to be apart of this community and that is reflected in the overwhelming attendance at school sporting events and the alumni network.

The tradions at A&M are exceptional. The plethora of ideas generated by former aggies, as well as present ones, is ample and from what I am guessing infinite. From Aggie Muster and Silver Taps (both done to honor deceased Aggies) to the 12th Man ( the idea formed that every Aggie stands beside one another as a team, and is willing to help those in need) and so much more, it is what makes my experience here at A&M worthwhile. This was the main reason I cam besides academics. It is what makes A&M the best.

The most prominent feature that made Texas A&M University stand out above all other universities is the friendliness of almost every person on the campus and the surrounding community. It is not uncommon to hear someone say "Howdy", the traditional Aggie greeting, when walking into a facility on campus or even a bus taking students to campus. The sense of being welcome here is one of the best things a college student can experience.

Everyone here is so accepting and friendly, especially my Department of Soil and Crop Sciences. I am sure that the other schools I considered last year were not as balanced as a genre either. Here you have city folks and country folks and everyone in between and they all get along so well. I also think my school is unique because of it's numbers as well as network of people. When they see your college ring ("aggie ring") they immdiately connect with you and it helps you get your foot in the door.

When I visited Texas A&M, I just felt like I belonged there and I could see myself attending the school. There were other schools that I visited where I could have been happy, but I really felt like I was in my element here and that I would be happiest here. In addition, it was only about three hours away from home, which was good incase I ever needed to go home for any reason.
