Over my time at Texas A&M, I have found not only incredible academics and support to my education from professors, but an incredibly involved student body that is interconnected in ways that can only be understood by being a part of it. Over my time here, I participated in Greek life, was a member of academic organizations, and was an executive for the largest student led organization on campus with nearly 1,500 members. What is amazing about this campus is that there will always be an opportunity to find community. We have over 1,300 student organizations, all geared toward different interests that allow any student to be plugged in anywhere. This University is specifically unique because of the nature of our traditions. We memorialize and remember an Aggie who has passed, current and former, with ceremonies across the globe. These somber celebrations of life, such as Muster and Silver Taps, remind us that we are valued as members of the Aggie Network and will always have a community. Traditions such as the Aggie ring let a stranger across the globe become a neighbor by simply looking at their right hand. I had the unique experience of visiting Italy this past summer; during my time, we ran into groups of Aggies who shared the same understanding and love for the university that I have. Being an Aggie is not just simply earning a diploma at the end of four years; being an Aggie transcends your lifetime and is understood as we say "from howdy (the day you arrive on campus) to here (when your name is called at Muster)." "From the inside looking out, you can't explain it; from the outside looking in, you can't understand it."

I enjoy being at Texas A&M University- College Station for the most part. The campus is beautiful and there are so many shopping and food areas nearby. However it can be a little lonely as it is a little hard to make and maintain friends. The campus food is good but the dining halls could be better. Campus housing is decent as you are provided with appliances depending on your housing, but coed dorms can be loud during the nights. The RAs try their best but do not always succeed. Overall I enjoy being on campus as much a I enjoy being home.

As a student at Texas A&M University–College Station, I’ve had the opportunity to experience a unique blend of academic rigor, school spirit, and a strong sense of community. Here’s an honest breakdown of my time at A&M, keeping in mind the positives and areas that could use improvement. Academics and Programs: A&M offers a wide range of programs, especially excelling in engineering, agriculture, and business. The faculty is generally supportive and knowledgeable, though class sizes can sometimes be large, particularly in introductory courses. The university has a strong research focus, and students are encouraged to engage in cutting-edge projects, especially in STEM fields. Campus Life and Traditions: One of the standout features of A&M is the school’s deep-rooted traditions and school spirit. From the “Aggie Ring” to the 12th Man and the bonfire traditions, there’s a unique culture here that fosters pride and unity among students. The student body is also very active, with plenty of clubs, organizations, and events happening year-round. However, it’s worth noting that the size of the campus can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially for those coming from smaller schools. It might take time to find your niche and adjust to the hustle and bustle of a large student population. Social Environment: The A&M community is known for being friendly and welcoming, especially for those who embrace the Aggie traditions. There’s a strong emphasis on teamwork and helping one another, which is great for building a support network. However, some might feel that the culture can be a bit insular or challenging for those who don’t immediately embrace all the traditions. Facilities and Resources: The university has invested in improving its facilities over the years. The new buildings and tech resources, particularly in engineering and business, are impressive. The libraries are great for studying, and the campus is well-maintained, although parking can sometimes be a challenge, especially during peak hours. Location: College Station is a smaller town, which can be a pro or a con depending on what you’re looking for. It’s quieter and less hectic compared to a major city, but it might feel limiting for those used to urban amenities and a more vibrant nightlife. Opportunities for Involvement: There are endless opportunities to get involved, whether it’s through leadership roles in student organizations, internships with local businesses, or participating in service projects. A&M places a strong emphasis on leadership and service, and many students go on to work in a wide variety of industries after graduation. Final Thoughts: Overall, Texas A&M University–College Station offers a solid educational experience with a rich culture of traditions and pride. While the size and pace might be overwhelming at times, the opportunities for personal growth and professional development are plentiful. If you’re looking for a college that values both academic success and community, Texas A&M could be the right fit for you.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Texas A&M University. I came into the school as a first generation student as well as a transfer student from my local community college, Brazosport College. I grew up in a town with about 20,000 people, so moving to a town with more than 100,000 people was very exciting! Despite the steep increase in population, you can still enjoy a "small-town" feel due to the amazing culture on campus. Most people are incredibly friendly and sociable. Once an Aggie, always an Aggie!

The number one thing you can do is believe in yourself. You are your worst critic and you shouldn't listen. Know the truth, believe it, and run with it.

Although I love many things about Texas A&M, the worst thing about the university is its lack of a journalism/Public Relations major. Although Texas A&M does offer a minor in Journalism, which I am currently enrolled, I would like the school even better if that major were to be offered. It is difficult to find bad things about the University because of its great education, encouraging atmosphere, and school spirit.

Traditions. That is what I brag about whenever I go home or whenever I talk to friends attending other colleges. Whether it be saying "Howdy!", doing your classes wildcat, or the 12th man, we are all united here at A&M. The 12th man is by far the best tradition that is worth bragging about because if you have ever been to an Aggie football game then you will know what I am talking about. We are solidified against whatever the cause may be no matter the sport or the reason and is worth all the bragging.

The academics of the engineering department are of the highest standards in Texas and in the US. I am a Nuclear Engineering major.
