Texas State is a huge campus. It takes forever to get from a parkign spot to your classes without taking bus which takes about 5-10 mins to walk to. Overall there are a lot of organizations that try to get people involved. Everyone is usually busy. Students make any place a study spot here and the library always has plenty of students. It is ahuge campus and very hilly- it gives you a nice work out. It has a good social scene- party school.

With the recent name change, Texas State(formerly Southwest Texas State) is still a growing school. Because of this, we are priviledged to be the generation that forms our school's traditions, and whose pride will build a legacy for our posterity. Located in the middle of hill country, Texas, the campus features a very unique landscape of buildings and greenery layered on top of one another, cascading down to a river that flows right through campus. Most importantly, Texas State offers some of the top academic programs in our nation, such as Geography, Graphic Design, and Musical Theatre.

Texas State offers a very good Nutrition program. Also, off-campus housing is not as pricey as some of the schools that I had previously considered. It offers a lot of opportunities to get involved in the school. Texas State also has a large amount of transfer students.

Texas State is located in a great community and has many activities to become involved in. The surrounding area is developing quickly and there is always something to do. Texas State has a great College of Education and is very involved in teaching its students to be good educators. This school is also growing in population. It is not as large as some of the surrounding schools but has much diversity of students with many programs offered to please all types of people.

Texas State University is big on promoting diversity. Its one of the very first things we learn on campus when we first arrive. I love how almost every club and organization have their own way of promoting diversity and making sure the club itself is diverse. I don't know of many universities that are as diverse as Texas State. Because of this, I am even more proud to say annouce to people that I am a Texas State Bobcat!

Suzanne

Texas State has fairly good school spirit, but we are not TOO prideful like some popular Texas univeristies, such as UT and TAMU. We have a diverse student population without leaning into one sector too much. Compared to other public and private universities in Texas, Texas State is way more affordable, not to mention friendly and, literally, more green.

Sarah

Texas State University is unique because the campus is very much it's own little city. The campus is very spread out and has public resturaunts such as Jack in the Box and Subway within walking distance for the students. Students on campus can very easily walk to a nearby grocery store, clothing shop, tanning salon, bank, book store or gas station. The location of the school is very convenient for any student. Students are always walking around, hanging out, or studying together. Texas State has such a fun atmosphere and is very unique for many different reasons.

The one thing that is very unigue about my school is the landscape . At Texas State University everything is either up or down hill, there is no avoiding stairs or hills. If you attend this university you get your education along with a work out everyday.

Courtney

There's nothing all that unique about the school I've chosen. It has it's own traditions, a beautiful campus and lots of campus life and student organizatins, as did the other schools I considered. The real difference between the school i'm attending and schools I was considering is the cost of attendence.. The school I'm currently attending is $1000/ semester less than the other schools I researched.
