Texas State University Top Questions

I did not consider any other schools. Texas State was the only school I wanted to attend because of the reputation for teachers.

The location and the all around atmostphere of the Texas Hill Country. That is what makes Texas State University in San Marcos so unique in my perspective.

The location. We are so close to the rivers (San Marcos, Blanco, Comal, and Guadalupe) and everyone enjoys laying out at Sewell Park on campus.

The school is built on hills so there are stairs everywhere! You get the prettiest views from the Library because of the hills. Everyone here seems to really care about your well being and if you do well. They seem to be more focused on you and more focused on what there is going on for you than I have heard or seen from other colleges.

The location.

Its size. I didn't want to be in a huge city. I've always lived in small towns or suburbs, so this was a bit of familiarity.

Teachers are well rounded and considerate of the students. The race of the students are very well spread across many. The hill country environment makes me feel at home.

I chose this school because they gave me a $20K scholarship based on my academic record.

The campus is surrounded by beauty and it has a great music program which was my first major, and it has a river running through it which works well for my Aquatic Biology major.

Texas State is an absolutely great place to spend four years your life. Both of my parents are graduates and I am honored to say I will be following in their footsteps. A very well-rounded school with lots of diversity, fun, and experiences that will last you a lifetime!

Only one thing would ever stop me from coming to TxState, parking. But, now that I'm graduating, it looks like some new garages are going up, so future students may have it easier than I did. I hate buses and will do anything to avoid them, which is hard at this school. Other than that, the food is good, shopping is fantastic, people are the best you'll ever meet, there is always something to do, classes are beneficial while challenging and campus life is fun.

People need to take Texas State University seriously, it's a great school!

Parking. It took them long enough to decide to build a parking garage....I would have just liked it to be before i got several parking tickets because my colored lot was full.

Texas State is a great school and I am proud to have gone here. The staff is fantastic, the campus is beautiful, and if you want a good education you can get it here. We aren't all UT-Austin rejects. I was accepted to UT-Austin but chose Texas State for financial reasons. I am still glad I did.

You get the most for your tuition at TX State! Lots of improvements under construction!

Basically, Texas State is the place to be if you want a welcoming next 4 years where you can feel at home and not overwhelmed by a huge city! We are right between Austin and San Antonio so if you feel the need to go to the city it's only 20 minutes away. We have stellar education, a beautiful campus, friendly neighbors and peers, and of course the alway popular Outlet Malls. (San Marcos was recently ranked the 3rd Best Place to Shop in the world as seen on ABC's "The View". ) It's a great day to be a Bobcat, come on over and check us out!
