Top notch and the best in the country. There's always somewhere to go or something to do, and part of that is due to Austin being a great city.

It's hard to say what the most popular groups are because there are so many. Political groups are pretty popular. Athletic events such as football and basketball are incredibly popular, but some of the other sports including tennis and swimming are not as widely publicized nor attended. I met my closest friends through my sorority and architecture and student government.

Fraternity/Sorority life is big. There are also a LOT of other things to do. 6th street is amazing for night life. There are so many clubs to fit every type of person.

Robin

Texas cowboys is by far the best organization you can join. It has great people in it and its just plain badass and awesome. Silver spurs are a close second and I would say Iron Spikes are a far 3rd place. UT's student government is a great experience too and of course Texas 4000 is just amazing. BUt you can find an organization that does pretty much anything that interest you, there is everything for everyone in this campus.

Living in Austin provides so many alternatives to drinking as a way to have fun. As a person who enjoys nature, I especially like the various parks in the Austin-surrounding area. There are so many little unknown treasures of nature walks and scenic views in the Texas Hill Country. Also, there are the mom-and-pop stores to eat or shop at.

There's always drinking, but also my Saturday nights usually include either an Independent film at Dobie Mall or a theatre production on campus or a concert. Also, the Texas Travesty comedy newspaper puts on a variety show that is hilarious. There is a comedy troupe on campus and they usually perform on weekend evenings. Sometimes I stay in a do homework or go to the gym though.

most popular groups are usually the ethnic-based groups; I'm involved with Epic, the Asian American Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ - we want to reach the unreached Asian Americans with the gospel of Jesus Christ; athletic events are extremely popular as well as guest speakers; i met my closest friends in Epic; 2am on a Tuesday - studying or chatting; all kinds of traditions; went camping last weekend; hang out with friends on a saturday night
