What is the stereotype of students at The University of Texas at Austin?

I went to a very conservative Christian high school, and everyone there told me that I was off to join the "steers and queers." There seems to be a consensus among certain crowds that we Longhorns are a bunch of pot-smoking hippies.

there is a clear cut separation between the groups and not alot of intermixing because the university is so large. THus, people just stick with their affiliated "group" that they join whether it be a fraternity/sorority, honors club, big student organization, ethnic or cultural specific club, friends on hall in dorm, etc.
