What makes my school unique is that it is an art school. It is a school that highlights the arts, where most schools highlight sports. It is a place where everyone knowns everyone no matter what major because everyone is there doing what they love, living out their dreams and prepairing for the future.

I attended an open house at the University of the Arts and knew that it was the school for me. They put on a performance of musicians that attend Uarts and they sang, "Blackbird" written by The Beatles. It was so wonderfully mastered. I thought, "I want to be a part of this". I've never felt so excited to learn from professors or set on just one school in my life. They actually schedule performances and lessons as a part of your curriculam. This school is everything I need to become the musician I'm set out to be.

The University of the Arts has allowed me to explore so many areas of music. The faculty is so willing to accept what you enjoy. For instance, I am currently in a DoBop ensemble, Rock Ensemble, Musical Theater Ensemble, etc. The school is very open to hearing what you want and what you think is best. I love that the campus is right in the heart of Philadelphia. I feel so honored to be taking classes with so many talented people, and I love traveling down this crazy road with so many supportive people.

University of the Arts is unique because this school has a very good multimedia and communication department (CMAC). It has the equipment, classes, and very helpful teachers. They have screenwriting courses in other colleges like Drexel University and The Art Institute, but they don't have the art feel that University of the Arts provides that get the creative juices flowing. Its location in Center City, the main place in Philadelphia for arts and freedom, also gives you more inspiration and stress-release that could also help to do better in my writing and other discourses of art.

It's a very vibrant experience. There are many artists coming from a variety of backgrounds both in the personal and the artistic aspects. It's a beautiful, vibrant community of colorful personalities. UArts also has a focus on many aspects of the arts, rather than art as a general discipline. If I wanted to focus on animation or jewelry making, for instance, the program has classes that focus on just those aspects.

UArts faculty, staff, and students share a common bond; that being a love of the arts and a desire to nurture and grow their talents, as well as share them with the world. The whole area, not just the college, fosters a collective feeling of sustaining and advancing the arts. This common bond is a valuable and unique quality of UArts; and it greatly aids its students by supporting their practical and emotional needs, enabling them to better succeed and attain their goals. Someone is always there to help and encourage, and that makes all the difference in the world!

Every schools have thier own uniques, no mater it is an art school or a health school. But the thing that really unique about the University of the Arts is the way of teaching. This school offers a foudation year which student will be given the basic of art in various fields. During this year, as artists have chances to encounter with defferent methods of arts, they will eventually find out what suit them best as a major. At the end, It is very important and unique as for the foudation year in my opinion.

Amanda

It is strictly focused on various types of art. Our careers are constantly on the line and positions aren't always available in our field. Other fields may encounter this, such as psychology or accounting, but for myself, as a dancer, my body is my product. Without this, I have no career.

Isaac

I love the fact that so many of the classes are made up of only 10 to 15 students. This really gives us the opportunity to work exclusively with our professors and get the most out of a class.

Tulissa

My school is unique because it really encourages working between departments. For example, while I mainly focus within Crafts I am able to work with glass, metals, ceramics or wood. By taking classes outside my major I now have access to the printmaking, screenprinting, sculpture metals studios and more. I have been able to take private music classes designed for visual artists. I've also taken yoga and dance classes. Besides becoming more well-rounded, I've been able to meet different people. It is truely satisfying when students use all different mediums to create a project together.
