University of Arkansas Top Questions

We are not very intelligent, and are very alcohol driven. There is also a myth that we don't have strong traditions.

That we don't wear shoes, are all poor, have strong southern accents, grew up on a farm

That the people from here are ignorant and stupid

That students at the University of Arkansas are snooty, Southern elitists. Some people consider the residents of the state of Arkansas as uneducated, illiterate and backwards in thinking about social issues.

A lot of people think that Arkansas is full of backwards hicks, and all we Arkansas students do is drink beer and go cow tipping! We are VERY excited about the Razorbacks.

Greeks, jocks, nerds, etc.

We love the hogs, we party a lot, the good and bad about the hill, we marry are cousins

most people think that we are the party school.

Southern, Hick, Friendly

That we are all very country and there is even one that people in Arkansas date there cousins.

Rednecks, less- educated, absolutely nothing to do

They have lived on farms thier whole lives. People in Arkansas marry thier cousins. Everyone is a "red-neck" who wears cow boy boots.

People from Arkansas talk funny and are uneducated. Arkansas students don't know as much as students from Ivy League schools. People from Arkansas don't wear shoes and alwasy wear overalls. All Arkansas residents are hicks.

They all drink and if you are not greek, you can not have fun. Also, everyone from my high school is going to Arkansas and so I'll will know everyone there and it will be just like high school.

Really country

Most people think of Arkansans as very country people that aren't well educated.

A lot o outsiders think that Arkansas is just a "country" state. Arkansas is constantly referred to as being "hick" and most people think that kids ride their four-wheelers in the mud every day and rarely wear shoes. Arkansas students are also seen as hard core partiers.

Of course people are going to consider Arkansas as "backwards", but I believe the University and especially Fayetteville have gotten some good recognition lately.

The sororities and frats drink and party all the time.
