The stereotypes i've heard about the school itself is that it isn't very prestigous and the students who attend UCSC are stoner hippies. There are also stereotypes about specific colleges: college 8 is the preppy college/santa barbara rejects, porter is the artsy college, oakes is the diverse college...those are just a few that i've heard of.
