University of Central Florida Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about University of Central Florida? Why?

Mary

The worst thing about UCF is the availability of courses to students. Many classes fill up before students can enroll in them, classes that students require to graduate, therefore delaying anticipated graduation dates by a semester or a year.

Joanne

Because I attend the regional campus all of the classes I would like to take are not always available. I have to settle for the day and time they have set or take online classes and those are another mission to get enrolled in.

Amanda

There are alot of students, professors may not know you personally. Or be able to help you on a personal level.

Michael

The worst thing I can think about my school would be that it is very big and requires a lot of traveling. Because I do not own a car, I have to use my bike as my mode of transportation. This isn't a big complaint, but sometimes when having classes with small gaps in between makes it is hard to get to all classes on time. However, I realize that our school being so big is inevitable because of progression and expansion, so it is not a big deal.

Chelsea

I think the class sizes are too large for a favorable learning environment. These large class sizes reflect in unavailability amongst the professors as well as lack of abstract discussions in the classroom. Many of the liberal arts classes are smaller but the rigorous science classes can have as many as 600 students which I believe is detrimental to each and every student's performance- in many different ways.

Joshua

The worst thing about my school would be the recruitment program. Being one of the largest schools in the nation, it is undoubtably necessary to have a good program to recruit outstanding athletes. Academics and sports go hand in hand as both bring publicity to the school. A new recruitment program could possibly, if exercised properly, bring big name athletes to the school thus, encouraging others to follow in their footsteps.

Deborah

The worst thing about my school is parking at the main campus. You have to arrive at least an hour prior to class to find a spot and it costs a fortune for a parking pass!

Caroline

There needs to be a more united campus.

Hussain

To be honest the worst thing at the University of Central Florida is the parking. It is understandable we have a problem since we have well over 52,000 students, but something needs to be done about it.

Jarrod

The undergraduate population repulsed me. Many of them seemed like they shouldn't be there.

Lauren

My school is in Orlando, which is not very pedestrian friendly; on campus there is plety of room to ride bikes, skateboards, walk, etc, but off-campus is not safe without a car.

Isabella

I would say parking at the Main Campus is very hectic and takes up a lot of time. I am taking classes at a Regional Campus to avoid this problem.

Daniel

Everything here is pretty great! I cant really complain about anything. I got into the college I have always wanted too! Its a pretty big campus and its actually bigger than my home town if you can believe that. But if I had to choose something I would probably choose the fact that there is no lap pool to use at the school.

Dominique

The worst part of UCF is the on-campus Housing. The dorms resemble jail cells and you pay way too much for what you receive, which is basically a headache. Maintenace never fixes problems in a timely manner and the staff is constantly rude to students. They don't care about your well-being, all they care about is taking your money. The staff at UCF will make you run around in circles and will never solve any of your issues. I would not recommend living on-campus to any student.

Mink

The worse thing about UCF is the high price of housing.

Kimberly

No current complaints.

Jad

PARKING, it's an absolute nightmare, and on game days if you plan on studying on campus- forget it.,the school is no longer an educational institution it becomes a one big drinking game with a crappy football team.

Nellie

I think every school has its pros and cons and in regards to UCF I would have to say that the worst thing has become testing at the designated Testing Labs which I believe are too small considering the significant large population of our school. Most professors have adopted the Testing Lab as the main test taking source thus it is constantly full and students sometimes have difficulty taking their tests on time.

Shella

The parking situation at UCF is somewhat unbelievable and disheartening at times, especially during final exams.

Arrione

The worst thing, is truly not a bad thing for most. But because of the fact that I work a full-time job I am only able to take night classes which limits my ability to participate in normal daytime activities. Therefore, the college experience is severely limited due to this fact.
