University of Denver Top Questions

There isn't a specific stereotype at the school. We have students from various financial backgrounds, international students; students from both sides of the political background.

There are a lot of differnet students at DU and there is definitely a group for everyone. I think pretty much all religious, racial, ethnic groups are represented on campus, and their is pretty much a group for everyone. And nothing is exclusive, I have a bunch of friends that are in the Latin Student Alliance or the Asian Student Alliance, who are most definitely not Asian or Latino. All different types of people interact with each other, but if you're really looking for diversity, you'll find it through clubs like LSA and ASA for sure. ANd personally, my roommates and suitemates are generally much more religious than I am, but we all get along and have no issues.

Students at DU are generally friendly and easy to get along with. You won't see many students going to class in pajamas, and you may find some Grad students in ties, but normal students keep it classy and comfortable. DU is very diverse in that students come from many different backgrounds, so there is a good mixture of people and there aren't really any cliques. There are so many different kinds of people here that any type of person would find their place.

The students at University of Denver are amazing! On campus, every student can find a place of comfort and happiness. While every student at DU comes a different background, this university welcomes every opinion and encourages us to use our differences to better ourselves. This is a very collaborative school where teamwork and discussion are encouraged. With students coming from various states across the US and many international students, diverse opinions are standard. Because DU is a private school, we are a relatively small school. This aspect of the university means that you recogonize a lot of people. Walking to class, you will see students who you had class with previous quarters but who still stop and talk. With a laid back, friendly demeanior, DU students are very inclusive. Furthermore, the students not only enjoy socializing but participate in campus actvities to show our Pioneer spirit and support for our peers. Whatever background you come from, wherever your hometown may be, DU is the place for you!

The people here at DU are by far my favorite part of the school - people are friendly and welcoming, and if they aren't then you need to find new friends! There is a group of students for everyone here. As for the typical student at DU, he/she is very academically focused, likes to be outside, and hang out with friends. They are usually athletic - club sports and the Alpine club are the biggest clubs on campus. About 20{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of students are in Greek Life and love that. We tend to be hard workers and have at least one job or internship while attending DU. We are very laid back people who like to study hard but still have lots of fun!

From my experience, there are many people who are members of religious groups such as Hillel and Campus Crusaders. We have a strong LGBT group which is housed in our Center for Multicultural Excellence. Unlike other campuses, students do not typically wear sweats and pajamas to class. They dress casually, but like to take pride in what they wear and look good. DU is really cool because the students here come from all around the country, as well as the world. There is even a strong showing from China and Africa. DU students are very involved in the community. The University of Denver puts a strong focus on Non-profit work, sustainability, and community service.

The typical thing to look for diversity in a school is the color of the skin. That's not fair to those students at the University of Denver. As a student here, getting to know your fellow classmates is extremely important. DU prides itself on a school that is extremely diverse- maybe not in the color of the students skin, but in the socioeconomic status of the kids, the sexual orientation, their religion or political views along with MANY other things. The students have so many different experiences and a lot of things to give to the students and faculty learning experiences. Greek life is not as prominent as people think but it may come off that way since they're the most spirited and out there campus activity. There is so much to get involved in and there is a place for everyone at the University of Denver!

My classmates are determined, interesting, focused, funny and from all over the world.

Classmates are very diverse, but sometimes it feels like it mostly consists of jocks/greek life/business students and international students from China (where most of our international students come from). There are some genius kids and there are others that you're surprised got accepted to the (supposedly) hardest school in Colorado to get in to.

Loving, cheerful, motivated people who are here to learn about themselves and how they can impact the world and forge their way in the world for the better.
