The worst thing at the University of Maryland is the north campus diner. This diner is designed for the underclassmen of the university, but does not provide a diversity of food for those who tire easily of pizza and sandwiches. The south campus diner is much better alternative for a lunch time meal, but it is an inconvenient walk for the north campus dinner crowd. Otherwise the university is a great place to be.

The worst thing about McGill University is that it doesn't offer enough arts classes.

They worst thing is that the athletes are given royalty status simply because they create revenue for the school. People who are actually studying challenging courses and have high hopes and dreams on the academic front are given what is left over especially in the academic and financial sense of things. They are given first pick of classes and full rides but other students get what is left over after the athletes.

The biggest downside about attending UMD in College Park is the lack of a college-town feel to the sorrounding area. It is unsafe to venture off campus at night and there is little to down in the city of College Park during the day. Local bussinesses have been dropping like flies and my fellow peers and I are growing bored with the city.

The worst thing about this school is the housing. It is so hard to get good housing on-campus, and off-campus housing can get really expensive. Thankfully they are starting to build more housing on campus.
Sarah
It is a big city-like school.

My school is relatively expensive to attend as an out of state student. This can hurt their drive to become a very diverse campus for residents of Maryland have the most incentive to attend. To make the college more diverse, they should level the playing field to include residents from all 50 states and overseas.

The transition as a transfer student is difficult and some information that is vital to know may not be shared.
Amanda
I think it is very expensive, but that may be because I do not have wealthy parents. Those that do have wealthy parents do not seem to have problems. Also, I do not think that the teachers are very qualified. Especially in the language department. They may speak a language fluently, but they are not good at teaching.

The worst thing about UMD: College Park are the dorms and the food. There's absolutely nothing that I've hated more since coming here than living in a tiny room with no air conditioner and horrible heating. The food gets old fast too, especially since the dining plan most freshmen get only allows them to eat at the dining hall. Once you get past those things though, it's a wonderful school.

The worst thing about my school would have to be the rainy or snowy days. College Park is an enormous campus, and sometime our classes are on the opposite side of the university, and sometimes when it is unbearable rain, we still have to walk to classes. I wish there was a way where we could just stay and our dorms, but still learn the material that would be discuss dint hat lecture.

The worst thing about UMCP is the surrounding area. Because we are an open campus, people who are not affiliated with the school can walk on, which is scary when you think about it. To know that the people you see walking around on campus could be the strangers your parents warned you about when you were little is very frightening. However, the administrators of CP have done a marvelous job of making sure that the students here are safe and protected.
Monica
The area around the school is dangerous and students get robbed quite often.

Since I am a starting freshman, i have not really observed any worst thing in my school. But the one thing i will consider is a major issue is the school population. the school is very huge and you have to sit in one of the little or huge lecture halls. sometimes you can't even get to meet one on one with the professor because of the huge number of people that scheduled an appointment before you. so you end up losing chances. Or some professors can't meet with you because they are too busy each day.

We are bad sports. I've been to my share of football and basketball games. In high school, we were always reminded to "cheer for our team, not against the opponent." At Maryland, we do both. Every game will consist of some cheer saying "[insert opponent's name here] sucks." We're pretty competitive; it's almost brutal.
Sarah
While the Univserity of Maryland is a great school, I feel as though they can be too pricey with some of their merchandise and textbooks. Tuition alone is an expensive investment, so high prices for, say, a sweatshirt, datebook or even lunch can be a bit taxing, especially if a person does not have a regular income.

Given that the University of Maryland, College Park is increasing in being such a profound institution, it can be easily stated that the worst or in this case problematic thing is the lack of financial aid relief for students who are unable to meet unmet need payments from the cost of education. This is such an issue of alarm because although this campus is becoming academically popular, many current and incoming students struggle to both pay for and attain such a necessary education. Unfortunately, students are unable to further their education because of this dilemma.

Not living on campus because you don't really feel like you belong to the campus community and you miss out on events that take place at later times.
Andrea
I hate the management. It's impossible to find someone who is actually concerned about your success. You are on your own at the school.
