If you are looking for a big school with a lot of energy and in the middle of a bustling college town, UMass-Amherst is for you. If you are willing to seek out what UMass has to offer and join clubs, UMass is definitely a good fit for you. Someone who enjoys spending time in cute coffee shops, and lounging outside in the warm weather will also have a great time at UMass. People who don't take initiative (both socially and academically) may not succeed here. People who don't like big schools shouldn't go here. If you love the city and love to shop you might not be happy here. If you are looking for a very strong, cohesive community with a lot of school spirit, this may not be the place for you. If you are very idealistic, there may be a better place for you. This is a big campus, so if you don't like walking you might not like that.

Their main interest would be in socializing and meeting new people, and although that isn't necessarily a bad thing, this interest could ultimately become deletarious toward their acedemic welfare. They might not do well in school, and there is always te possibility of failing out college, which would be a waste of both their time and money.

Tho
