University of Miami Top Questions

Going to UM isn't jsut about football/basketball games or even just about the education. It's the overall experience. Not only are we in one of the greatest cities, but what student can say that their campus is always kept clean, I'm talking about bathrooms clean, no trash on the floor, no dead grass or unkept. Well we can. Being at UM is like being in a seperate universe where it really doesn't matter where you come from because in the end you will bleed orange and green, that's pride.

I'm so impressed with the way the campus has grown and how much the reputation of the school and competitive level of applicants have improved since I graduated in 1981.

The weather is great. The professors and other students are really nice. It's really nice to be able to go to walk to class in shorts and a t-shirt all year round. It's also great when you can convince a professor to hold class outside because it is a beautiful day out. Having a philosophy class while sitting outside on the grass under a tree in the middle of november is just really cool.

I brag about the weather and the quailty of the academics.

I brag about the location of the school because it is a very serene suburbian area; however, the city is just a few miles out. The beach is very accessible and serves as a great study location.

When I open my textbooks in class, I often get covered in sand, because I spent Saturday studying on South Beach.

I live next to the beach, and in January, it is still 80 degrees.

The weather....it is always warm....My free time is spent outside which I love. It allows me to blow off steam playing flag football, lacrosse, etc. The atmosphere at Miami U is great. Everyone is so helpful. I broke my arm this semester and I can not tell you how helpful and understanding my classmaste and professors have been.

I brag most about the great academics, amazing weather, and great location.

The weather is nice all the time, so students don't ever get the blues. You can sit outside and get fresh air while you study year-round, and we get more excercise because it's never too cold to jog! we also have free tutoring for every subject, and kids who go to smaller or less helpful schools don't have this luxury. The tutoring center was the only reason I passed a very difficult class last year.
