Although I currently live at home and commute to the campus, I think that USF has made me accustomed to the 'real world' is a very pleasing way. I believe that a college should not only provide a means for a better job and what many would understand as a way to earn more money, but above all else provide individuals a way to become a benefit to society. Higher grades area always the goal, but I have found that by receiving these higher grades, I have felt accomplished, not in the traditional sense, but rather in a way that allows me to feel like I will become something special and use my knowledge in an inspiring way. The feeling of liberation from the original household is undeniable, but college is the key to a career of being a profound piece to the puzzle of society.

So far out of college I have made great friendships. Leaving from home to school was a big adjustment and it was great to find an immediate support system. On average, students are a lot more open and relaxed once you get to college. At least, that's what I've noticed about my experience. The classes are also a lot more relaxed. Since you have the opportunity to pick what classes you want, you weed out a lot of the bad apples during classes so you're left with the kids who actually want to be there and learn about the material.

From my attendance at the Community College of Southern Nevada, I have obtained many highly beneficial skills, a high motivation towards success, and through the experiences in college, an improvement in my communications abilities. The obtaining of skills have come from the many classes I have taken. These skills would include programming skills, the ability to solve more complex mathematics problems than I ever have before, and many others. The high motivation to work hard towards success that I have obtained stems from my instructors, and many of them have informed me of their life stories and their many endeavors and achievements. Finally, the improved communications skills I obtained from the attending college came from the interaction and befriending of people from many different cultures and backgrounds. Many would say that this is usually learnt in high school, which I would agree with, but not at this degree. In college, one works with or around people whose personal characteristics vary much more greatly than those in high school, due to the lack of age restrictions utilized in colleges. These three aspects of life that I learnt while attending college will surely help me achieve future success in my life.

Being a foreigner here in this country and learning a second language is a continuous challenge. During my 2 years of college, I have learned the importance of attendance, participation, and performance in all classes. Also, going through the fire academy at my college I discovered the significance of team work, courage, integrity, and honesty. For me attending college is valuable because I get an opportunity to interact with people of many different backgrounds. Another valuable reason about being in school is getting higher education to graduate with a degree. This will increase my chance of accomplishing my goal of becoming a full time career firefighter.

I just finished my freshman year of college at the University of South Florida. Thus far my college expreience has been everything I had hoped it would be. Living on campus, in a residence hall with six other girls, has opened my eyes to how truely blessed my life has been and has betten enabled me to deal with an array of sticky situations and conflicts between people. Going into my first year of college, I was somewhat lost. I was an undeclared major who did not know what she wanted out of her college journey. However, before my first semester was complete I knew that where I belong is in the field of science and perhaps conservation of our precious environment. I realized that attending a four year university is not just about earning a piece of paper, but about discovering one's self and learning all that one can to become the best person he/she can be. Attending college is about broadening your horizens, learning about different people and cultures, discovering what it is that you stand for, and setting the foundation for who you want to be in the future.

Out of my college experience I am getting a wonderful education. I am double majoring and minoring something I never thought I would do. I came into college thinking I was not going to do well. Now I am living by myself getting straight A's it is great. My college experience has also allowed me to meet new people that have influenced my life in a good way. It has also made me very independent. College is an experience I would never change.

Even though I have had struggles being a "non traditional" student, I still understand that receiving my BS will benefit me more in the real world than had I not chosen to come back to school.

I have gained so much from my college experience at the University of South Florida. During my undergraduate career I was able to get many research opportunities and internships that have given me the skill set that I needed to get into my first choice graduate program. I was also able to work countless hours of community service through my honor society. Volunteerism was certainly one of the greatest values that I got from USF because it taught me team work, leadership, personal responsibility, as well as integrity. My college experience at USF has become a great value to me because it provided me with the framework and knowledge to progress onto higher education that will one day allow me to work in a career that will help to serve my Tampa Bay community.

I have learned to be more independent, to study hard in order to learn, and to make friends in different classes. I have learned how to conduct research, write stronger essays, and to be self-motivated. This was worthwhile because I will be able to apply this to the workfield.

I have gotten many things out of my first year at the University of South Florida. I have grown as a person ue to the fact that i am living away from home and I need to depend on myself. Everything I do affects everything else around me. I have developed many friendships that will last me through my college years and beyond. Being in he dorms has allowed me to become a better person and to start the process of growing up. Life is all about learning and about choices. I have learned much about myself and my abilities. I o believe I have made the right choice in picking my school. I have learned that when I put my mind to accomplishing something, I can do it if I believe in myself. and being at school, I have learnt to believe in myself. i will carry that with my from this day forward.
