Something that really sets it apart from schools nation-wide, is the fact that it is the first university in the United States to be declared a fair trade university. We are really a leader when it comes to making a difference! Despite being a small school, UW Oshkosh stands out in a big way.

Before I started attending this university, I saw it as a school best known for its Nursing, Education, and Art/Music departments (and of course, the parties). Now that I currently study here, I see it as a school that works very hard to make students and faculty comfortable while providing many schooling, volunteering, and social options for everyone to enjoy.

We do not have any teacher's assistants, so all of the information comes directly from the professor. The professors here also make a point of being available to students through scheduled office hours and email. I know many of my professors on a personal basis and some even ask students to call them by their first names. There is a great feeling of mutual respect between students and professors.
