Very small class sizes and it is the only univeristy close to my home.

This school has a beautiful campus that feels safe and gives you a workout while walking to class because of all the hills! The red brick buildings show the age, and history that comes with the college. There are many extra cuticular activities available, so it is easy to find things to do outside of class. Pullman has a small town feel, while providing many stores to buy groceries and other essential items. The three WSU book stores are great places to buy text books as well as plenty of Cougar attire that help keep the college spirit alive!

The diverse community and my school is trying to get more hispanics and african-american students to attend the school as well.

This campus is unique in that it is almost completely a college town. The majority of the people we see on and off campus are students and it is kind of like its own world. Off course, when we have tours of the campus to high school students and transfers we are welcoming but for the most part everyone that attends Washington State University sees mostly other college students on a daily basis.

WSU is high in spirit and proud of their alma mater. The unique quality of WSU is the admiral focus that targeted college students. The city of Pullman is basically a "college town." The population rose by at least 20,000 when school was in session. Pullman was comfortable, not intimidating and I felt it was easy to make lifetime friends. WSU is also very family oriented, there are a number of events that honor parents. There is a Mom's Weekend and a Dad's Weekend.

My school is split up into four schools WSU-Tricities (the school I attend), Spokane, Vancouver and the head school Pullman. WSU Tricities is a smaller campus than most it has about 1500 students give or take. Class sizes are fairly small so being able to consentrate in a lecture is easy as wellas getting to know the professors.

Washington State University has a strong sense of pride in the 'Coug' spirit and it is quite compelling. I have gone to several other campuses and have never felt the intoxicating feeling of a sense of togetherness like the way WSU has. WSU also has a wide variety of prestigious curriculum, which is why i chose WSU. For the Nutrition and Exercise Physiology program it offers.

My school is unique in that it is small and has students of varying ages with the same goal to receive their undergrad or graduate degree. With the varying ages it gives students an idea of what the "real" world outside the campus is going to be. There are plenty of activities for the younger generation to participate in even though it is considered a "commuter" campus, unlike the main campus in Pullman which has dorms and sports teams.

Unlike other schools i looked at, my school is in a campus-based town and allows students to be part of a community. Since the buildings are all on campus, all a student has to do is walk to class. I feel it is not neccessary to bring a car to school which saves me money. Washington State University also has one of the nicest Rec centers on this side of the country.

Washington State University is unique in the ability to alter your major however many ways you need to, and how the system is set up so that you don't add years onto your graduation date. You could be a pre-veterinarian student one day, and the next you are a psychology major. WSU is so diverse in its available programs that students are able to follow their dreams, and get on the right track for their education in their selected field of work. Corollary, students have a much more optimistic view to college.

The sense of community that is present at WSU.
WSU is in a college town, meaning there are mainly only the college students in the area. This is amazing because wherever you go, you will feel at home. I say you will feel at home because you will make close friends to where after a while, it will feel like they are your family.
Small class sizes
Most of the classes are small which helps us learn better. This is completely different compared to other big universities.

Washington State lies within a small college town. The university itself is huge, but you also get the atmosphere of a college town. Everywhere around Pullman, Washington is all about the Cougars, so you really enter in to a familly that is nation wide.

The wonderful thing about Washington State University is its location in the small town of Pullman. Here in Pullman everywhere you turn, look up, down, all around, are cougar heads. Welcome to the college town! Pullman is, more or less, in the middle of "nowhere land", but there is plenty for you to do while visiting or attending school.
Another fantastic quality of WSU is the school spirit. Once a Coug, always a Coug! Alumni still visit consistently and support the University endlessly and cougars are pretty much pumped up about everything to do with WSU and sports.
Jacqueline
Washington State University is unique becasue everyone loves going here. The alumn are excited and come back for every home football game and many basketball games.
Megan
My school is large in the amount of students, but because of it's location, it feels like a family. Everyone smiles and says hello, holds doors open for other people, recognizes people from their classes around campus. Its the best feeling to know when you leave home to come to school, you are coming to see your other family, your other home.

Washington State is distinguishable from other universities in different ways. Academically, this is a research-based college with many of the professors involved in their own work on top of teaching classes. Having a research college allows attending students to have many opportunities to be employed by the faculty and gain valuable experience in their field of interest. Also, there is a large and supportive community associated with Washington State. The alumni continue to stay loyal well after they graduate, and even individuals who live in the surrounding area love to support the university?s sports, students and facilities.

Though Washington State is a large school it is a very close and friendly community. Both the people and professors here are friendly and easy to approach. Everyone one campus is always opening doors for others and offer a warm smile. It feels like home.
Madison
it has a great sense of school spirit. Everyone is very active in the community and it has a great safe feeling.
Hanna
Strong focus on veterinary and agricultural sciences as well as architecture. Very isolated location with cold winter weather compared to other state colleges.

[Note, that I refer to the Tri-City campus of WSU, not Pullman]
Washington State University is home for me. There is a gentle blend of culture and age so that incoming freshman aswell as older students returning to academia get the same experience as the real world: every day we interact with people of different color, age, and background. A professor of mine taught me that the main difference between high school and college is that every class, every semester, and everyday you are surrounded by people you do not know. Every moment is an oppertunity to know someone.
