What is the stereotype of students at Washington State University?

Cassandra

One is that Washington State Students are all alcoholics and party constantly. I have also been told that every student is rude and has no respect for other people. I have also been told that nobody goes to WSU to get an education, they just go to party.

People usually have some bad stereotypes about WSU. They see us as "farmers" that drink everyday. The girls are thought to be full of STDs and guys known for date rape. However, the good about us is that there is tons of pride here.

Some of the stereotypes about WSU are, students that could not get in to the University of Washington come here as second choice, and there is nothing to do here but get annihilated.

The major stereotype about WSU and the students is that we party too much. All I hear from people is that the WSU campus is nothing but a party place and none of the students actually take their schooling seriously, they just want to get drunk and party all day and night.

Students at Washington State University used to be known mostly for their ability to drink lots and lots of Busch beer. The stereotype still remains today, especially if you walk down Greek Row at night time on the weekend. The amount of school pride that students have around here is not matched by any other school, in my opinion. Well, it may be mathed but it is far greater then that of UW. Our biggest rival is the University of Washington and being that we do not live in one of the U.S. largest cities, we dont have the luxury of doing fun things so we build great friendships at small house parties over with a can off beer and a ping pong (used to play beer pong). A lot of our students are thought to be "dumb" or "hicks" because our school is on the East side of the state.
