Overall, my experience at community college has been surprisingly great. I have had incredible opportunities, such as participating in a summer research program and studying abroad in Thailand for free—something I never expected from a community college. These experiences have broadened my perspective and opened doors that I didn’t think were possible at this level of education.
One of the highlights of my time here has been the professors who have genuinely inspired me. My Network+ and Spanish 2 instructors, in particular, have significantly impacted my learning experience. Their passion for teaching and dedication to their students has motivated me to push myself further.
However, not everything has been perfect. While some professors go above and beyond, others can be disappointingly disengaged. I’ve encountered instructors who seem uninterested in their students’ success, making learning and growing in those courses frustrating. While I understand that not every professor will be exceptional, the inconsistency in teaching quality can be discouraging at times.
Despite these challenges, I appreciate the unique opportunities my college has provided. From research to international experiences, I have gained invaluable skills and knowledge that will help shape my future. The connections I’ve made and the lessons I’ve learned will stay with me, and I’m grateful for the journey so far.

Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) holds a special place in my heart for countless reasons. From the moment I stepped onto its campuses, I felt welcomed and inspired by the vibrant community and educational opportunities it offers.
First and foremost, the diversity at WCCCD is unmatched. It's a melting pot of cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives that enrich the learning experience. Interacting with students from all walks of life has broadened my horizons and deepened my understanding of the world.
The faculty at WCCCD are not just educators; they are mentors and guides on our academic journeys. Their dedication to student success is evident in the personalized attention they provide. Whether it's during office hours or in the classroom, they go above and beyond to ensure we grasp the material and reach our full potential.
WCCCD also prioritizes accessibility. The flexibility of class schedules, including evening and online courses, allows students like me to pursue education while juggling other responsibilities. This commitment to accessibility reflects the college's dedication to helping individuals of all backgrounds achieve their dreams.
Moreover, WCCCD's emphasis on community involvement is admirable. The college hosts numerous events, workshops, and initiatives that encourage students to give back and make a positive impact in the neighborhoods we call home.
In sum, Wayne County Community College District is not just an educational institution; it's a diverse, inclusive, and nurturing community that fosters growth and empowers individuals to succeed. I love WCCCD because it has shaped not only my academic journey but also my perspective on the world, teaching me the value of diversity, mentorship, accessibility, and community engagement.

Wayne County Community College District is a great school to further your education while obtaining meaningful experiences through teachers and students. A very easy going and student-first atmosphere!

I think it is a good community college for those who live in Wayne County in Michigan. There are many campus locations for those who live in different areas in the county. I can only speak for the Downriver location, but this location offers plenty of seating areas for when you are waiting for class, many vending machines with a variety of snacks and drinks, and an elevator that is free for anyone to use. The staff at WCCCD Downriver are very helpful and in my experience, have always done a great job helping me if I needed.
One issue I notice with the offered classes is in my case, many of the classes I want to take seem to be not available at my local campus or at times that do not work well for me. They either seem to only be Saturday mornings or late at night, not one weekday morning/afternoon class. As someone who does not drive, I try to stack my classes the best I can to make it as little of an inconvinience for my ride, but this does not make it work well.

WCCCD is a community college and a stepping stone to get to a 4 year institution. They offer a few online courses that provides great resources from great and experienced professors. WCCCD is a very inexpensive institution for those individuals that may have trouble continuing their education.

There have been a few bad teachers and some mediocre ones, but many have been absolutely phenomenal. I had a bad experience with an advisor that stopped me from going to them for my first year, but the other ones I've gone to have been very helpful. The classes are usually good but my impression of the administration is that they are too disorganized. Many of the staff don't have a lot of knowledge about their own facilities and people. It can be hard to navigate when you need to get things done and don't have a lot of time to come back because someone left early or offices are inexplicably empty every time you try to visit them.

Wayne County Community College is a great educational institute in the city of Detroit. I am grateful to have attended and built relationships with students and teachers. The foundation at WC3 gave students like myself roots to

Needs improvement with the attitudes and professionalism. I like the fact that they have security around everywhere so you feel completely safe on campus. But the way that the staff talks to you is unprofessional and needs work. Some campuses are worse than others but the north west campus Has to be the worst.

What I like about the school is the fact they the advisers came into the classroom to ensure we were in the correct classes for our program and out intended degree was correctly charted in our records. I also like that the school holds a financial aid marathon. As long as you come in on that day during the correct times they will ensure any issues with your financial aid are corrected. This allows for students to not worry about if classes are paid for or not and if they can purchase books and supplies. This is a big hurdle for lots of students and sometimes keeps students from enrolling. So removing those obstacles has been very helpful for many students, including me.

I believe this district is a perfect stepping stone to take the transition from high school to college. The professors provide accurate and relevant information. The campuses provide a beautiful scene, as they border the woods to parks for you to explore.

My overall opinion of Wayne County Community College District is that it is a pretty good college. I think that the professors here are very helpful and willing to help if students reach out. I had professor who found out I had a disability and took me to the disabilities office to get started in their program at the college. The classes they have can be extremely challenging but through my own experience if you reach out in person or through email the professors there are always willing to help and point you in the right direction. The professors there are honest and want you to succeed but you have to be willing to put in the work. Overall, WCCCD is a good college it may be small but its heart is big.

WCCCD is a great community college if you plan on transferring. They have many two year programs and many short certificate programs. I really like their partnership with four universities (U of M, Ferris State, Davenport, Michigan State, , and Walsh).

Wayne county is a okay school. If you are looking for teachers that are there to spark your interest in the materials and challenge the knowledge that you already have then this is not the school for you. The main focus of many of the professors is to get in and out of class. there were many classes that were cancelled. It was an fast and easy way to get my prerequisite classes for nursing done but now I have a lot of studying to do on my own because I feel as though I am poorly prepared to even apply for nursing school. which is a horrible feeling due to the fact that people depend on your knowledge to possibly save their life.
Ceara - 09/04/2017
Wayne County Community college is obviously a small community college that doesn't have as nearly as much student participation as other big universities in the country. They do not have a sports team or department. As a college freshmen, going to a college game is what we all been waiting for, but if its not there, then we all will be disappointed. They need to have more student involvement, overall.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Wayne County Community College District is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would first tell myself to stop waiting around and get on the internet to look for scholarships! I'd also tell myself not to cut myself short on a class simpily because it's difficult or I don't like the subject (math in particular), and get it out the way earlier on. I reckon it'll be much easier to that way (for me anyways). Procrastination was a bad habit of mine in HS, and a rather hard one to break, so I would also tell myself to drop that habit ASAP as doing that in college is only ASKING for a world of stress! Lastly I would tell myself to stop cutting my education short by doing just enough to get by and go beyond what I think I'm able to, even if that means an extra hour or two away from the Playstation.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
i consider the worst thing about my school is their is no cafetria like if you were in a university. They should have a cafertria in a community college and a variety of foods to choose from just besides subway, because thats not the only thing someone to eat everyday.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
The kind of person that shouldn't attend this school is someone who just want to stand around and socialize in the hall way. There are a lot of students here at wayne county community district and most of them really want an education so that we can recieve our degrees and succeed in life. Most people just come around within six weeks. Others are around because they have nothing else to do. So if your not the kind of person who is willing to become someone/somebody in the near future, this is not the school you should attend.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I had known how to study better. I wish that I known how to write a magnificient research paper and on how to do valuable research without jumping off the topic. I wish I had known how to be a better note taker and when to notice and recognize key points in a lecture. To be able to use programs on a computer better than what I know now,I would have paid more attention in computer lab in high school. To be able to know what type of questions to ask a professor when I need help.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I like to tell them about the small classrooms. Being someone who is shy, I thought the smaller classrooms were really good for me. It's also a good starting poting for those who don't know where to go, be it a fresh HS graduate or someone who's been out of school for years.
I have attend Wayne County Community College District, aproximatly since two years and a few months; I feel very comfortable in Wayne County ; also I considered my second home because I spend time in college more than with my family
