June is officially the first month of summer break; no more teachers, no more books and no more homework! Of course, it also tends to be the time of year that many students stop looking for scholarships because they believe that all the free money was handed out in the spring. This can be a costly mistake, especially for those who are still a bit short on college funding. What most students don’t realize is that June is actually an excellent time to start knocking out some serious scholarship applications. Students have more free time, so they can apply to more programs and increase their chances of winning. Here are just a few of the many scholarships available with upcoming June deadlines.
1. Media & Technology Blogging Scholarship
U.S. high school seniors through graduate students are eligible to apply for this award. Students must submit a blog entry discussing their interactions with technology and how it functions as part of their interactions with society. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. Deadline: June 1.
