Mohave Community College is a great little college in a relatively small community. There are three campuses: the Neal Campus in Kingman, the Lake Havasu campus, and the Bullhead City campus. My review is about the Bullhead City campus, as that is the campus I attend.
They host most of the community events and are super active with both students and non-students. That being said, there is no campus housing yet. They are building some I believe, but I heard it is only for their soccer team to use. The culinary class provides a salad bar for $5 for students, but there is no freshly made food other than that besides vending machines, which they have one in every building as far as I can tell. The college is a five-minute drive away from a shopping outlet that I'll frequent between classes for food, so it has never been much of a problem.
As for academics, the college has a new drive towards online classes primarily since the pandemic. As a student who prefers on-ground classes, it is a fight to find the courses I need on-ground. It is disappointing, to say the least. However, if at least 5 students formally request a course on-ground, they will do their best to accommodate those students. The school has a focus on medical fields, such as nursing and radiology, so there are many opportunities for those programs at MCC. They also offer trade school, which is nice. The biggest flaw MCC faces is the lack of classes in the creative fields. As someone who wants to pursue music and/or art education, they can offer you the general classes and maybe one or two electives in the field you want, but then you have to transfer to a university.
Overall, my experience at MCC has been great. I would recommend it since it has extremely cheap tuition (I paid less than $1,500 for twelve credits, half of which were art classes with class fees) and you can easily transfer your credits to a state university.

It’s an amazing college where students can grow flourish and build life long bonds

I love the fact I am able to organize my classes around my work schedule. Meaning that I am able to keep my part-time job, while also being able to spend at least 15 hours a week on my study for all three classes. One of the things that I love most about this school, is the afordiblity. Thanks to the cost of this school, I was able to pay out of pocket with the I currently have, so I don't have to add more to my student loans.

I personally like Mohave Community College. Although it is a community college without the traditional university setting, the professors are caring and understanding. It's really cheap and offers a lot in terms of certificates and nontraditional opportunities.

I attend the North Mohave campus, which is extremely small and isolated within a small town so there's not much around. However, the staff all care about the students and are always willing to help with anything. The environment is friendly, and cost of attendance is very affordable.
I'd recommend it for its nursing program. There's a large online class community - which is beneficial to a lot of students that lead busy lives and can't be in classes every week.

Mohave Community College is by far one of the colleges that offers you an exceptional education that is worth the money! The teachers ensure that you understand the lessons and create an encouraging learning environment. By far had an excellent experience.

Mohave Community College has some pros and cons in my opinion. Some of the pros include: It's a small campus with small class sizes, so you are able to engage with your teacher and the students more regularly. The nursing program really wants you to succeed, so there are many options for you. The staff are generally friendly and helpful. The facilities themselves are nice. The cost is nothing compared to universities. I think it's something like $80/credit hour. Give or take. Cons: Since we are in a small area, it is hard to get quality teachers - so they hold on to what they can get. Some teachers and faculty are hard to get ahold of - which is crazy since there isn't a lot of us students. Communication about events and opportunities could definitely be better. Organization is something that this school has not worked out - in YEARS. Things are kind of always up in the air and/or changing.

Mohave Community College can really be described as a place of quick education. Most students I know that go to the school with me are either trying to earn a certificate to start a career or only want a quick two year degree so they can build into university life. I would also consider MCC to be one of the most affordable colleges in my area. I go to the Lake Havasu City campus which is an hour from their Kingman home campus. I personally find the buildings to be quite updated and the campus to feel very open. Classroom sizes vary on the newer students compared to those who may have passed the basic classes. All in all, I would say this school is great place to stay focused and get your degree fast and on time.

It was a good junior college. They have a great Phi Thetta Kappa honor society. I was happy to attend that school. The professors and dean were great. The counselors are very well trained and will help you anyway they can. They did a lot of reconstruction and the school looks amazing. It’s a great place to start.

It is a very neat school with lots of resources for students to use whenever they please. MCC has free tutoring and even helps find financial aid for students who need it. This school has teachers on campus 24/7 so that students can get the desired help they need.

The college is good and it's everything I would expect from a community college and more but I wish that they had a theatre department. Other than that they are great and the professors and the staff are very helpful. I would also like it if they had more clear signs and directions to the classrooms.

Mohave Community College gives you an option to save money and go to a community college in a small town. While you are in a small town you are able to save money that you would not be able to at a university. There is no on campus sleeping options but you can stay off campus in the town.

my opinion about mohave community college is that it is a school where it has teachers and faculties that cares about their student's career paths and futures by helping them succeed and to become successful. The school offers student aid in the student success center where teachers are able to help students in a particular subject they are struggling with. They also help students with they terms papers in which they help them make the paper better. Not only does the school has wonderful teachers and faculties that help students to be success in their career paths, but they offer affordable classes to students who are not able to attend a university. People who start at a community college are saving thousands of dollars and are able to transfer to a university once they gain an associate degree. I would definitely recommend mohave community college for those who are wanting to gain a affordable and well successful education.

My overall opinion of Mohave Community College is that its a very good 2 year school to get your foot in the door and experience a little bit of college life. I wished they had more activities like sports and groups. If i had a choice to choose to go to a different community college that offered more activities i would, but im not saying its a bad place they are a good recommended place to go.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell myself as a Senior in High School to apply for financial aid right out of high school, so that I could go to college sooner than I did.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
The school I attend is a small school. I aboslutely love that the staff knows you and your situations. I also love the student apprciation days that we have on campus.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I would have known about all the club activities Mohave Community College held. If I would have known in advance I would have worked my schedule around to include time to join one or two clubs. Finding out the club meetings gather at a certain day and time every week is only helpful before a class schedule is set up.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most fustrating about my school, and most schools I've been to, has to be the financial aide deparment. Granted there are great people working there that do all they can, for some reason every semester something gets messed up with my financial aide and we never know why.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
Mohave Community College is an excellent 2 year college offering an array of programs you can access online and on-campuss with a 30/90 program with NAU.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
At Mohave Community College the technology is the worst. A decision was made to change the email accounts and other websites associated with the college. The updates have still not been completed. Technology does take time to conquer, but the new links should not be released to students until the updates are complete. That way, students do not become frustrated when the website does not perform well and the help desk does not have to redirect everyone.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I brag mostly about my teachers that I have. I also brag about the class in general. The list of classes is not very long at my school, but the classes that they have are amung the best classes I have taken by far.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
72% of students attending Mohave Community College receive some sort of financial aid.
65% were awarded federal grants.12%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
