I am at the East campus and it is really pretty nice here. I love the library, it is pretty small but it has quite room and a quiet space that I love hanging out at and is a great place to just grind out homework or a few assignments. They also have the learning center in the library where there are tutors at the ready for you whenever you need on any subject that you might be struggling in. There is not a cafeteria but there is a little place that you can get snacks and drinks. They do occasionally have food trucks though which are pretty good and a great source of food to keep you going. Overall its a pretty humble campus and has everything that a student will need in there journey to a successful academic career. One last thing I would like to give a comment on is the student life center. It's a room where there are snacks, games, karaoke, drinks like red bull that are at the ready for any student to use. It's a great place to take a load off and have a little fun.

Very good Community College, gives and offer a ton of opportunities for people that want to study a degree, it offers a bunch of different options to study and if someone wants to continue for a higher level of education like a Bachelor's degree it helps a lot on the cost of the first two years out of 4 that consists a Bachelor's degree

Pima Community College is more than just a community college; it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students. Pima College's dynamic and welcoming community is one of its most distinguishing aspects. I was greeted by a varied collection of students, instructors, and staff from all walks of life the instant I came into campus.

Great college. The professor's are passionate about their subject matter. The facilities are nice. It is a commuter school so you are there to get educated. The school culture is extremely supportive of the students. There are multiple campuses a student can attend. They even have childcare for children 3-5 yr of age if you are a full time student.

I enjoy that I can go back to school and chance a degree in a field I enjoy.I come from a low income family and I am a first generation college student.I have seen my family struggle so I rather struggle now and relax later.Pima has openly a door for me I gave up on a long time ago and I’m so grateful.

Pima community college is a very exciting learning environment in Tucson, Arizona. I learned so much from my professors and met a lot of new people and it’s absolutely a great atmosphere for not just students but the staff. I recommend to those that are in high school to look into this junior college because the school is very intellectual and you would fit right in!

It is definitely a good choice for the price. You won't get so much of the "college experience", but it will get you the degree you need. All of the credits I have taken here transfer very nicely to almost any school. It is a great place to start your college career, but don't expect any of the fluff.

PIma Community College is a great junior college. There are many interesting, welcoming clubs, groups and activities. The academics are also great. There are various fields that allow input, creativity and broad forms of learning. All in all this is a school that I would recommend.

I love Pima Community College it is a great place to start your first college years and later move on to a University. The teachers at Pima are all very accessible and caring when it comes to teaching.I have been lucky enough to never experience anything bad with teachers or the campus overall. I would not change Pima for another college.

As humans, once we establish a bias and conceived notion towards something - it is rather hard thing to undue. Many Americans, likewise, hold tightly to a negative view of community colleges which is often never reconciled. The thoughts run: you are there either because you are academically behind or stupid, you can not afford to attend a real university, or you are simply a lazy individual who has no higher ambition. Sadly, I too held some of these views before becoming a student on a community college. Although the extent of time I have spent here will only last the duration of my gap year, I have truly been made aware of the wealth of knowledge and experience one can gain even at the commonly dubbed, lowly community college. My experience at Pima Community College has been wonderful. The teachers are knowledgeable, patient, intelligent, and willing to invest in students to ensure success. Students from all walks, backgrounds, experiences, and family environments come to attain an education that will ensure stability for the future. Pima offers a wealth of student services including academic counseling, tutoring, a computer lab, lots a great, diverse study space, and adequate staff to assist in any area of learning. Likewise, however, for every area of excellency, there is also some deficiencies. My experience has seen a lack of overall community spirit and extended friendliness. In addition, the cafeteria's hot meal options are rather lacking- I much prefer eating off campus or bringing a meal with me. Unfortunately too, students often receive "timely warnings" concerning violence or potential violence at or around the various campuses which is very disconcerting. I recognize, however, that no college or university will meet every standard and level of excellency and so I give Pima Community College an overall favorable evaluation.

Pima has great opportunities and is a very open place for all ages, races, genders, etc. I don’t feel uncomfortable there and it feels like a safe environment. The teachers are nice and most of the time willing to help. I’ve made some great friends along the way!

It is a great place to get started on your dream. It is really affordable and Pima is extremely proud of their nursing program. the professors are mostly amazing and really take the time to build connections with their students. The environment is quite relaxed.

Pima Community College is where I revived my true self. I was in a hole after graduation like most just out of high school seniors. I took an eight week writing 101 and a math class at Pima because I did not want to invest in more classes without a direction in life. In my writing 101 class the final and eight week long project was creating a memoir book full of essays about yourself. All the contents had to be related to a substantial theme in the student's life. I chose to write about theatre and how it crafted the young woman I become. While writing, my passion for theatre flowed out of my heart like a Niagara Fall of love, friendship and community. I realized acting is what I love and I loved who I was when participating in theatre. In high school I dreamed of going to college for acting, but I felt discouraged by parents, society and a small part of myself. I am my worst critic and my best supporter. Thank you to the writing 101 class for helping me realize I should be investing in my heart and dreams and going to college for acting. I am being my best supporter and I applied to two conservatory colleges in California. I also am holding my own hand and pushing myself to pay for my education by working a graveyard shift, full time job. It is incredible and I am proud of myself for the transition that Pima has erupted in my character. I am on the road, striving to become a role model I wished to have when I was younger. The book final in the writing 101 class had a dedication page which I dedicated to my younger self: "This book is dedicated to my quirky, frenetic, high school drama kid self. Who deserved to understand in the moment that there is a drive within herself and opinions are roadblocks. I applaud her journey because she has manifested the confidence and persistence to tolerate the low expected standards of herself, holding her own hand through life". I am on the way to achieve my life goals and become a characteristically strong minded woman because of the writing 101 class at Pima Community College.

Its falling apart, the political view of pima community college heads have been and probably will always be conservative. The college is not open to changes. If they are open to changes it will take 8 months- years to complete something or get a club that is positive bringing forth the students needs first.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Pima Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The one thing I consider 'the worst' thing about my school is the information center. Long waiting are formed just to put your name on the sign-in sheet while people keep jumping ahead because they 'just have a simple question' while you wait and wait. A new method of setting an appointment with an advisor should be deviced, or maybe an area where frequently asked questions can be answered quickly. The sign-in sheet should be made available with a time slot and your place in line honored. Cell phones should be 'off' in these crowded areas.
A person who needs to get the general education done for transferring to a 4-year universities to further his/her education. A community college was a great opportunity for a person like me who works full-time and still wanted to go to school. I was able to get over 60 credit hours in less than 2 years.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
What I see as unique at the college is the diversity of the students. There are different minorities who are attending Pima College and there also minority teachers which I think it is unique and at the same time beneficial to all minorities. The level of interaction between students and teachers is greatly positive and educationally motivating.
The best thing about my school is that the classes are small allowing more one on one time with the teachers. The atmopshere is not threatening because the campus is small.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I had known more about the registration process and filling out financial aid forms. When I began preparing for my first semester, I became very frustrated because I was told that I was an adult and needed to advocate for myself. If my high school had given me the slightest information, I would not have struggled as much.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
I feel if someone doesnt want to persue a dream why make them come to college. College is a place to learn, to persue a dream its something serious that people should understand. This is the future and we have to prepare for bigger opportunity.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
The aspect of which I brag about moust about my school is that tution is very affordable. I attend Pima Community College, which offers many transferable course to Universities, and tution is is almost a fourth of what it would cast at a Unisversity. Not only are courses affordable, but there is a wide variety of course from which can be chosen. This would have the be the thing I brag about the most to all my friends.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about my school is the long wait times of the student services departments. One can expect to be in long lines when using the student services departments. These departments include the advising office, the financial aid office, and the bursar?s office. It always feels like these departments are under-staffed.
This is by far on of the best community colleges I've encountered. The teachers really do look out for you and want to help you succeed, and the variety of classes to take is unreal. There are various campuses around tucson, so it's easy to find a campus convenient to you.
Wonderful. Like I had said initially, the variety is amazing. The teachers really do care about your success i class, and will respond if you reach out to them. The transfer programs definitely prepare you for the next step in your college/uni career as well.
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
Like any community college, the stereotype is lazy students. Sure, there are some, but any school has them. There are so many different people here from different backgrounds that are here for many reasons, and that's what makes Pima such a great place, they welcome all.
