As an online-only dual credit student, I love the opportunities that this program has afforded me. I have had several amazing professors over the past three years that were very helpful l, but occasionally, one professor is hard to get along with, contact, and understand the class materials. All of the staff is very kind, especially in the library. Overall, North Idaho is a good place to increase knowledge after high school, and the dual credit program is wonderful.

It is a really good beginner college for people to get their associates degree. The teachers are super helpful and are there to help the students. The classes are set up to be straight forward and intuitive while still being challenging enough for learning to occur.

I think North Idaho College is great option for students who are seeking a smaller environment to learn in. It is a great place where professors are attentive and do their best to encourage the success of their students. The area where the college is located is beautiful and there are plenty of recreational activities to partake in and the college does a great job offering opportunities to students outside of class to include them and create a sense of community.

This college was helpful in the beginning when I started here, but the more I am here, the worse this college seems. The staff lies about many things to college students. When I had covid, the said they could send a food gift card, but never did and then later said it was no longer an option. They stated parking passes are valid and don't need to be renewed at all during my time with NIC and didn't have anything on the website that stated anything otherwise, then gave our parking tickets. They stated they could provide food, but when i informed them of my nutritional restrictions, they stated that I need to go else where for food. These are just a few examples. They seem friendly up front, but will end up screwing over the college student when it suits them.

    North Idaho College is best known for its high quality education and caring staff. NIC is known for one of the most beautiful campuses and our own personal beach. NIC is also one of the most welcoming schools. When I first started at NIC I was not only welcomed but supported. I think NIC is the best school and I am always so excited to start a new semester.

  5. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

    The worst thing about my school that comes to mind is their wifi servers. The servers don't cover all of the campus. Many times, just walking inbetween buildings you lose reception. It also is quite slow at times and near impossible to get online.

  10. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

    I always tell my friends that NIC has the most beautiful campus. Everytime I leave class I walk away with some new found knowledge. The teachers are so brilliant and so caring. NIC provides so many amazing experiences that I am going to have with me always. I am can not believe how lucky I am to be able to attend North Idaho College.

  11. What's unique about your campus?

    The best aspect of NIC is that all the students support each other, even when they are coming from such different places. I also value my teachers, who are very adept at explaining subjects to people with a huge range in experience, intelligence, and interest. Community college is a great place to start your education, not only because the tuition is cheaper, but because the student population is diverse, and you can't help but come into contact with many different world views and life stories.

  12. What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

    The stereotype is that we're too dumb for university and that we'll drop out after one year of JC and if you look at the stats about the school that stereotype is very accurate. Luckily for me I will not be another statistic/

    there isn't anything that i wish i had known before going to this school. they helped me out a lot.

    The academics are decent. I'm a business admistration major, and all of my instuctors are great. I feel like some instructors are trying to unnecessarily try to push students into the other classes they teach.

  17. What is your overall opinion of this school?

    Overall, I feel that the school could do a better job or hiring qualified teachers to teach the lower level classes. I feel that if I did not take honors and AP courses while in high school and had to take the classes the school recommended for me I would have struggled later on in the more challenging courses.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
