So far, BYU-I has been amazing with the application process. I had questions and they were right on top of their emails. They provide you with an easy to follow checklist on what to do and how to prepare for your school year. It's amazing and it makes me excited to actually attend their school.

I know there's good people there 😊 My dad is a teacher there and he often promotes it to me. He tells me about the activities (such as the ropes course and fashion shows) and it makes me excited to go there 😊

As a sixth grader, you wouldn’t expect them to have their entire life planned out including college and career. Well yea, that was me. I am the third youngest out of eight, so many of my older siblings had been in or preparing for college. Many of them were going either to BYU or BYU-I and being the adult twelve year old I was, I was preparing too. Being a member of my church, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, BYU seemed to be the obvious choice as it was the main religious school. After looking into it more, I realized BYU had a branch off at Idaho, it was smaller and a closer knit community which was one of my requirements for the college of my choice. It was a cute campus, had great reviews, and had all of the possible majors I was interested in. As someone who wants my spirituality to be my number one requirement, BYU-I seemed to be the ultimate choice. Prayers are said in every class, devotionals every week, and Family Home evening every monday. What more could I ask for?

Brigham Young University is a University that is focused around their students, and their path as disciples of Jesus Christ. The classes offered here are focused around the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The professors there care about your education, and will do all in their power to help you succeed. The campus is also very welcoming, and student friendly. There are always things to do on campus, and in Rexburg ID where the University is located!

There is a great environment here at BYU-I. The people are friendly, but the weather can be a bit...chilly. Walking is rough, so be sure to have a car or some sort of transportation to go grocery shopping or to work. It's almost impossible to get a job as a freshman, too. In all, a pretty good school!

Brigham Young University-Idaho is such an amazing university. I learned so much from the school, and the professors there were incredible. I felt like the professors knew me by name, and I felt connected to them. I still remember the great memories I made and the things I learned. If I were to go back and choose which school to attend, it would be Brigham Young University-Idaho again.

I have loved my time at Brigham Young University-Idaho! It perfectly combines the small school academics with a larger campus' social life. There are always events going on that everyone can go to. The opportunities to unite as a school also are designed to help us all be better people for our communities. Everyone should check this school out!

Honestly I think that are many things that the school does very well and I really appreciate it. For instance there's never a shortage of activities to do from bowling to dancing and just about everything in between. I think it's a given with most religious universities, but there's just some cultural things that not everyone agrees with or is really into

I love Brigham Young University, and that is not an overstatement. I feel fortunate to have been led to such an incredible school. If I were to list the three things that I love most, I would say; the environment, the professors, and the students. First: the environment; most students at BYU Idaho have told me that they love the positive atmosphere on campus, and I wholeheartedly agree. The campus is clean, safe, uplifting, and inspiring, which I attribute to the students and professors who live the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The faith-filled devotion of both learners and teachers has inspired me to improve myself and help those around me. Second: the professors; I have joked with my friends before that it seems like if I called my professors at 3 a.m. to come help me change a flat tire, they would come because they care that much about the students here. I can feel their genuine desire to not only help students succeed in the classroom but also ensure our success in our lives after college. Their care and devotion have motivated me to put my best effort into learning and strive for personal growth. Third: the students; if anyone visits BYU Idaho, I bet they would be taken aback by how kind everyone is. I am amazed and inspired by my fellow students who continually try to deepen their faith in Jesus Christ, help those around them, and learn effectively. Overall, BYU Idaho has provided me with the most enriching college experience I could ask for, shaping me into a better person and preparing me for the future.

It's a safe place to go to school and most people here are good. The campus food is the best. The buildings and classrooms are modern and well-kept. The gym is huge, and there are free fitness classes. It's a conservative school, so not the best for exploring different viewpoints.

Brigham Young University- Idaho was established November 12th, 1888. In the grand scheme of things, it's not that old. It's not that big. It's not that noticeable. It's a little college tucked into the mountains of Rexburg, Idaho. But it's a college that allows you to make memories and friends and a future. Other colleges are saying: "Your money, please? Awesome. Thank you, next!" BYU- Idaho is saying: "What can I do to help you succeed?"

You won't find a better, safer school. Alcohol and drug use are minimal as this is a private, religious university. Class sizes are small and professors are always engaged. I am always surprised at the friendliness on campus as well. When I compare it to other campuses that I have been on, there is a different atmosphere at BYU-I.

It is a great university where the people and professors there want you to succeed not only in their class or college but in life. The campus is really pretty and is in a cute town. The education is great, and there is a really positive environment on campus and online.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

What I have learned so far is to look at things in a whole new way. Architecture has a lot to deal with imagination and knowing that when done it will be a great building and that some happy family will be living in there. Its very nice to know what goes into a house or building works together perfectly to put a roof on a family or a group of people. Every little detail creates a building and to watch it slowly turn from nothing to a building is an amazing site. I really know that college is very hard at times but sticking with it will give you a great accomplishment and will change your life. I really wish to become and architect but i need help. I can not do this alone.

  15. What are the most popular student activities/groups?

The most popular group is the Center Stage group, because they plan a lot of events for every week of the semester, and they give students the opportunity to learn more about cultures, and entertainment in diverse ways. There are parties every week. Because of the schools honor code, there are not drugs and alcohol involved in these parties which allows for sober and clean entertainment. You can go to some of the Center stage events on Saturday night, play a sport, go to a party, or just stay in your apartment to relax from your hard week at school. In relation to this, some of the activities you can do on a Saturday night are also off campus such as bowling, going to a movie, laser tag, indoor mini-golf, and even a drive-in movie screen. There are some things to do around here when you're not in school for hours on end.

  16. What are the academics like at your school?

The classes are very good, and help students to achieve their goals. One class that I have personally enjoyed is the psychology 111 course, because they help students to understand the information instead of simply leaving the students to their own designs. The classes in general include lots of participation, but one class that has been a struggle is the math 108 course, because it is a hybrid class. We have class once a week, and the rest of the class is online. This causes more difficulty because I struggle getting the information and guidance that I need to learn more of the material. I don't spend much time with the instructors after class, but in the future I plan to involve myself more with the faculty and to gain more guidance from them. The students are pretty competitive in this school, and the positions for jobs are very difficult to find because they are filled by students. My major will focus on applying psychology in the business world and help others apply correct principles to their work ethic. This is why it is a more difficult major and occupation. This school provides some key resources for advancement in this type of occupation.

  17. What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

Mormons, super friendly and honest. That don't like to have fun. I think it's true. most are friendly and honest. but they do have fun and party, because they are always smiling and having a good time

  18. Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?

Yup. But it's not as exclusionary as it might seem. The diversity of the student body is low by anyone's standards, but in my observation, the students of other races and cultures aren't shunned simply because they look different. Some people may be put off by the school's homogeneity, but if one can look past the superficial differences and into the heart, they'll find a lot of true, VALUABLE differences.
