Mississippi University for Women

I fell like this college is a great college and has a lot of opportunities for students. Not only does it have awesome professors but it also has great sports team and a lot of support from the student body. No one ever feels left out because the school has a lot of clubs and groups to join.

MUW is a great place to feel at home. Class sizes are small enough for you to enjoy one on one time with professor. Everyone is so welcoming and they instantly make you feel part of the W family. Ones advisor is always available to help with scheduling and Ashlee Hills is the best ! I love the W and I wouldn’t have wish for a better school to attend.

Mississippi University for Women is an extremely education bound school. The Greek life here is pretty small and it’s almost like everyone is a little family. The dorms are probably the best I’ve seen out of all the colleges I’ve visited which is amazing.

I am an incoming Freshman at Mississippi University for Women where I received an academic and athletic scholarship to play golf for the Owls. I have been on campus for several events and my mother is a graduate of the BSN (Nursing) Program at the W. I am excited to start my college experience with MUW mostly because of the campus size and student to professor ratio for course work. I am also looking forward to enhancing my golf game by working with the Owls Golf Team to help make this sport relevant to the W and our community within D III NCAA Athletics. Mississippi University for Women is a small, historic college. Everything is easily accessible. The university has Greek social clubs with a haze-free policy. Also, many “peer developed” clubs appeal to students depending on their personality. Students have an opportunity to study abroad and for those more advanced, there is an Honor’s College. The staff puts students in the best position to succeed. Students come on campus with the same agenda, which is to obtain a degree and make connections with people they will associate with for a lifetime.

Though this school is well known for their Nursing program, there is nothing that screams, "You should go to this school!" to students considering attending. It is a very dull and boring campus with no kind of big sports, homecoming, or fun things to do besides when an event is hosted about once a month. Very old buildings and outdated dormitories make it dreadful to stay on campus. This school could do a lot better and create a more entertaining environment for their students.

Mississippi University for Women is a beautiful school. Everyone is insanely nice and friendly. The staff is so kind, caring, helpful, and willing to help you so much with scholarships. They even have a robot in the library that will answer your questions.

Mississippi University for Women, overall, is a welcoming environment and provides an open place for people of any race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, socioeconomic status, etc to partake in a quality education. A majority of its professors, especially within the humanities department, are always open for students who may seek their assistance and classroom sizes are perfect for students who want a more personal experience.

Great School and atmosphere. People Are very friendly and staff is welcoming. The academics are great. The number one school in the state. The professors are always there to help and they even have assistants to help you when you need it. They have great group organizations and lots of campus involvement opportunities.

An an international student from Nepal, this college has been, in every way, a perfect looking glass for me in order to cultivate knowledge and explore American culture. I will recommend this college for my Nepali friends because the study sessions are so effective and interactive.

I am super proud of my school and it's campus and I am thrilled to be joining the long blue line! I have heard great things about the nursing program and can't wait to start it in a year after completing the rest of my prerequisites. I hope others will see the great positive idea of a small school and community!

It is a small campus. The class sizes are relatively small with the exception of the science classes. The wifi on campus is awful, as well as some of the good in the cafeteria. Besides the cafeteria, the only on-campus option is Subway. The dorms are ok, but they could be better.

Mississippi University for Women was not only my dream school, but the only one I applied for. When I received my acceptance letter, I began looking forward to the day that I would walk on campus for the first time as a full-time student the following fall. Despite my excitement, I had no idea that it would become my home-away-from-home so quickly. Within weeks, I had made friends who had become family and by the time I graduated, I had met a boy who had become my family. Now as an alum of The Long Blue Line, I can't imagine what my life would be like without the experiences that I had during my four years at the W.

MUW is a great school, but there are improvements that can be made. To begin, parking at the school is moderate, however, it is primarily parallel parking. For many students who do not feel comfortable parallel parking, it is inconvenient. Next, the food in the school's cafeteria always seems to be left over. Change in the school's lunch opportunities is needed. Despite these issues, the W provides students with quality education at an affordable price.

Overall, this university is great and has become my home in less than a year. This university has many opportunities for academics as well as social and extracurricular activities and community service. This university means the world to me and I am extremely proud to be a part of the Long Blue Line here at the Mississippi University for Women.
