I like that the school made me feel welcomed. The staff and students were welcoming and it’s a fun safe school. Being a transfer student it has opened my eyes and it makes me want to get into more things around on campus so i can open up and become known on campus and get into clubs and be the person who i want to be.

Pearl River Community college has a beautiful campus, with state-of-the-art facility, friendly and helpful people. It is one of the top community colleges in my state. There are many athletic events to see and clubs to become part of on the campus. The admissions office is extremely helpful in helping new students navigate the college campus and things that they need to know before the first day, through ROAR sessions, in which you complete your schedule and ask questions to current students and staff during your session. Campus tours are very well organized. I look forward to my next two years as a wildcat.

The River is a place where you can find family. The small class sizes and small campus provide personal connections and relationships that help you to develop as a person as well as succeed as a student. You will feel like employees and professors care if you succeed because they do! As a student and student employee, I have found the class and staff culture to be extremely welcoming and beneficial to learning real life skills.

I love it! It is a really great place with great people, great organizations, and great school spirit. It is a shame I'm only going to be around until 2020, otherwise I would stay longer. The teachers are amazing, the curriculum is easy to understand, and there are always people who can help with just about any problem one might have.

Regardless of which campus you go to, you will meet the friendliest, informative, most caring people ever. Not just the students but the faculty too. It is better to stay on campus to get the full college experience. Pearl River also offers a varieties of programs to explore possible careers. I love PRCC they have pride in their school, and in their students and I believe thats the best it could be. They provide classes on campus as well as online and it is very effecient. I have taken both and had no trouble with the professors. The college has several different campuses spread out in the lower part of Mississippi so it is very convient and a student does not have to travel very far if not housing on campus.

It’s a great college. You meet lots of people and you have a perfect sized classroom to where you can meet people and feel right at home. All of the faculty are accessible at all times. Even if you don’t know a professor they will help you. Everyone is so nice and I feel right at home.

I think that they should expand more with their food choices because there aren't many choices that us students can choose from and when we do have a choice, we choose the cheaper and unhealthier ones. And I think that we could use a bit more excitement at the college, and boost the college experience.

It's great. Most students stick to their own groups and don't venture out, but teachers are wonderful especially in science and math department. I have had a couple professors who have definitely impacted my life for the better. Definitely extracurricular and service opportunities.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Pearl River Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell myself this :
After High School, only one of two things is going to happen. You will either, further your education by attending college, or "LIFE" will happen. When "Life" happens, you find a job that pays your bills, yet you still live paycheck to paycheck. Next you get in a relationship, and possibly have children. Eventually the bills begin to pile up, money is being spent quicker than you can get it, and before you know it , good ole faithful , Father Time, has passed you by. You'll be 10, 20, 30 years older and still working a dead-end job, or two, and have nothing to show for it. It is imperative, that you get your college education....you don't just want a J-O-B, you need a CAREER. Something that you'll be able to truly live off of, and have something to look forward to retire from. In this day and time their are very few jobs available for those people without an education. Don't procrastinate, because in your procrastination, LIFE WILL sneak up and over take you. It will be more difficult then to make up for lost time.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I love how our school has a great gym and walking track. The teachers here are very down to earth and will help with anything. The school is in a small town so everything you need is close by. Because this is a small town, people are like family and you can always ask for help if you need it. Our campus security is great!
Anyone who is looking to transfer to a 4 year university. The school has a great system in place for those who need engineering prereqs. It's also a good place to come if other schools haven't gone well for you.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
An unmotivated person. Someone who isn't really interested in learning or furthering their education. Someone who is just looking to get a refund check , and or take out loans.
Classmates tend to be nice and hard working. If you're taking math and science courses, expect the class to be full at the beginning of the semester and not so full come the end.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing about my school that I attend now is the library and learing lab plicies. You must have your student ID visible to pick up papers that you print out. You also can only print out one copy of documents or they charge you for each page. Sometimes it seems as though they are trying to make it inconvenient for students instead of helping them.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
95% of students attending Pearl River Community College receive some sort of financial aid.
68% were awarded federal grants.18%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
