What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
My first piece of advice to my high school self would be to focus more and to stop procrastinating. Breaking the habbit early on is much easier. College is different than high school and your work is more important than it was in high school. In life we are constantly working to make sure that we have a better future and college is a major stepping stone that will determine the rest of your future. Being able to focus and get work done will help you keep a clear mind without becoming over stressed. In the end hard work and dedication will pay off even if at the moment it seems that there is no hope.
I would also tell myself to relax and enjoy life because soon enough your childhood is goinng to be over. Enjoy what you have before it is gone. The people that you once thought you could never live with out will move on and so will you. Life changes people. So enjoy it while it is still there and make the best of everything that you do.

What kind of person should attend this school?
The type of person who should attend this school, is the person who wants more out of a school than prestige. This person must want an institution that makes the effort to see the person behind the tests scores, and statistics. This person must want an enviroment that integrates community involvement with education. This person must want an education, not just a degree.

Describe the students at your school.
Most of my classmates are young, rambunctions, and completely irresponsible; but once in a while I find someone who's in the same boat I'm in and it feels good to know there are others around.

What's unique about your campus?
The best thing about my school is it's value. It has the lowest tuition in NY state but yet sacrifices nothing for such a low cost. The fact that a collegiate institution for continuing education is so overwhelmingly inexpensive but yet still teaches text book and life lessons is phenomenal. It's campus is a beautiful sight, yet small enough to not have to spend an hour trying to traverse the whole thing. The buildings are all structurally sound and simply quite stunning. It truly amazes me how the administration can keep such a beautiful school so inexpensive.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
I currently attend class at the South campus of DCC. I'm in my mid twenties and very serious about my school work and I find most of the students at the South Campus are fresh from high school and think college is a joke or a waste of time. It stresses me out to a point because I was just like that once and I wish I could impart my experience on to them so they won't make the same mistake of putting college off for so long.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
The one thing I wish I knew going into college was the amount of time and effort needed on each class, its nothing like high school. In college you have to eat sleep and breathe work to get it all done, slacking off isnt a good idea.
