Clarion University of Pennsylvania is a small campus, which makes it easy to get around to all of your classes in a timely manner. All the faculty seem very kind, approachable, and willing to help with whatever you need. All of there facilities are very clean and easy to find and navigate.

Amber - 06/02/2022

While it is a small school and community, the school sets you up to succeed. In order to succeed you need to take advantage of the resources provided to you. The extracurricular and academics are average. The food is decent for a college campus. I would recommend if you are looking for a small school close to home.

Madison - 05/19/2021

Overall, I feel very safe and secure on campus. The professors I have had so far want to help us students become successful and succeed in the classes. The campus is set up and managed well. There are plenty of opportunities for students to become involved with activities around campus.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior about what I know about college life and making the transition I would give myself so much useful advice. First I would tell myself to start applying for scholarships as soon as possible because there are so many out there for college freshmen. I would also tell myself to be open to new people and start the year off right by finding a group of friends that surround you with positive experiences and encouraging words. Getting involved is another important thing to remember. Having a resume with many different experiences as well as memberships to organizations shows employers that you are very involved. Overall I would tell myself to give everyone a chance and just enjoy the college life by interacting with people you know will only push you in a positive direction.

  8. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

I tell them about how hands-on the program I'm in is. I mention that the professors in my major have had practical experience outside of teaching that they can pass on to students. Also, we have excellent equipment in the communications department--and other departments like the science department for that matter. I like to tell my friends of our extensive library. I like to mention the community that students can find if they seek it.

  10. Describe your favorite campus traditions.

From what I am told and from what I have read, Clarion University is known for Education. Clarion has turned out many teachers and continues to do so. The history of this college is strong in education and continues to this day. When I decided to pursue a career in education, this college was suggested to me as one of the best. Even though I was accepted to others, which were also closer to home, I choose this school due to the great references on education.

  11. What's unique about your campus?

The best about my school is the atmoshpere. It is very welcoming and friendly. Whenever I am having an off day I can usually look around and take in the view of the mountains and people walking around with a care free attitude and it helps me feel more at ease. Even during finals week when there seems to be a more tense and studious atmoshpere I still feel incorporated and bonded with the rest of the students because we are all going through the same emotions involved with taking final exams.

  12. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

I feel that my school is a smaller university and caters to a more personal and close experience with professors. If you're looking for a place where you're noticed and awknowledged as an individual, Clarion is for you. Everybody knows or has seen almost everyone and it's a tight knit family community. It's easy to make friends. There's not a lot to do surrounding campus, but always events and activities from school organizations on campus. Other larger schools don't offer a community environment like Clarion.
