Kutztown is a good state college to go to. you will receive the away from home experience while being close to home if you live in Pennsylvania. I made life long friends at Kutztown and will always cherish the time I spent there and made memories. The academia is great as well. The professors always encouraged office hours and honestly it was those office hours with the professors where I believe made my grade.

Kutztown is essentially what you allow yourself to get out of it. The school itself is just a place to be, but the memories and friendships/ and or relationships that you make along the way are what makes it a second home for you. I really appreciate how affordable the college is as well.

I do really love my school, but it definitely has things it can improve upon. Giving better housing discounts for Residence Life employees, for instance; honestly, better overall treatment for Residence Life employees and coordinators would be fantastic. Improving the food served at the dining facilities, fixing (or demolishing…) Johnson Hall which is standing empty (rumors of a sinkhole are rampant). Kutztown isn’t great with addressing problems sometimes. I do wish that was different.

During an instant decision meeting with the current dean of admissions at the time, he mentioned over and over again about how highly recommended their psych program was. It ended up being terrible. And entire semester was spent discussing items you could use to get high. During the tour they wouldn’t let us test the Cafeteria. It ended up being not good food except for the bottom part of south and maybe one good meal a week if you were lucky for the top part other than that the food constantly would make your stomach hurt. I ended up transferring out because the psych program at KU made me not love it anymore.

Kutztown was my dream school when I was in high school and it hasn't failed to disappoint me. The campus itself is a beautiful campus. The students and staff are always willing to help anyone and make sure everyone has the best opportunities. I have learned so much, not only academically, but about myself as a person, and I am excited to continue to grow as a Golden Bear.

I think that Kutztown is a place to go if you want/need an education and don't want to pay and arm and a leg. The professors are mostly wonderful, except for a select couple who are extremely disrespectful to students needs and just don't care. The food is usually pretty good, in my opinion. However, there is a lot of drinking and smoking of weed on the housing side of campus, whether the college wants to admit it or not. Location has a historical vibe to it which is nice. It smells like a farm sometimes but that is because it is surrounded by them. Overall, I'd recommend.

My experience at Kutztwon is quite grand. Not only is this school diverse but students here are very nice. The schools offered many programs to help you keep up with your grades and also teachers show effort to provide extra help to those who may be in need. Overall this school is great, theres optimal opportunities to have fun but the staff help create an environment to help you stay on top of your work.

Kutztown University is where I have met my best friends for life. I am part of the women's lacrosse team and the culture within is amazing. Culture on campus as a whole is beautiful. Everyone I met has been outgoing and made me feel at home. I am beyond proud to be a Golden Bear.

I love it! The campus and energy of the campus make you feel at home. For me what sold me was the rural setting. There is a home for everyone there and I admired that. A college with great food options is not always the case for some students and Kutztown’s cafe is legendary. All around Kutztown is a great place

Kutztown is overall a really good school. The professors are there to teach you and help you where ever it is needed. If you have a question about anything there is always someone you can go to who will help you. The campus is a beautiful and clean. I feel very safe walking around campus. There are a lot of groups and organizations for students to join. The facilities are well kept and always clean and are enjoyable to use. The academic programs are good and many are accredited. I am very content with choosing Kutztown as my college and I would highly recommend it to someone who was interested.

I love Kutztown so much. There are things to do on the weekends, but at the same time, you feel relaxed and focused when working on school work. It is the perfect school for Education majors and I feel like I have learned so much and I feel prepared to be a teacher. The Professors are amazing and I have bonded with so mnay of them. Kutztown really is full of amazing people.

Kutztown in my opinion is a great school for anyone looking for the traditional college experience as it offers all the necessities. There are plenty of dorm buildings and even apartments on campus, as well as a 2 dining halls, a library, and many great areas to relax, study or hang out with friends. The classmates and faculty are extremely friendly and are always willing to help another student/guest if needed. Kutztown University is everything I could have imagined and more and I cannot wait to be a KU alumnus one day.

This school is large enough to enjoy ones freedom yet small enough to remain focused and safe. There are a variety of academic areas to study with minors to accompany your choice. The majority of the staff enjoy their positions and will help their students as needed.

It's a great place to study with professors who care enough to give you their time and provide opportunities to further your academic career. The town of Kutztown has everything you need right on Main Street. Nothing is more than a 15-minute walk. There is a great community among the students.

It is a great school overall, I am an art education major and the art building is amazing. The program is great and the professors are awesome! So willing to meet with you outside office hours, help with supplies and care for you more than just students. You find Kutztown is more of a giant family then a school, everyone is very close and helpful of each other. You always feel safe and like there is always something to do and someone to talk to!
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Kutztown University of Pennsylvania is 79%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell myself to never let yourself slacck off cause the work piles up quickly and it will only bring unneeded stress so just get every done has you get it will make life a whole lot easier.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The fact that the lack of funding and regulation is leading to a more and more bloated student population. This leaves room for lesser qualifications, and bigger class sizes, not to mention the increase in prices of various things. Also, it fills up and overflows into the community, taking most of the jobs up that are in town and at the school.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I had known to be more myself and not so shy. Being shy made my first year of school really hard on me. I have since grown more out of my "shell" and enjoy my time here way more than before.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Kutztown University is a unique school compared to the other schools I considered. This university is in a more rural area and has about 10,000 students. Also, Kutztown has the double major option which is the best. The community is has a local sense of food, coffee, and is a nice place for college students. Plus, my university has serveral coffee and espresso bars. In the community sells local, farm products which are healthly and on a inexpensive way of paying for local items at a grocery store.
A person who lives in another state should not attend this school. People who are laid back may enjoy it . This is a suit case school so be prepared. A person who does not mind watching a movie and hanging out in the room with friends on a friday night should consider Kutztown University. An ideal Thursday consist of going to the bar and getting drunk just to have fun. If your out-going and want some to experience something new and adverture, this may not be the school for you.
I really believe that diversity and student involvement are the best things about Kutztown. There is something to do everyday and there are so many types of people to do these things. The educaion program is also a very strong at Kutztown. The professors make sure that students know how to teach students and the standards are held very high for education majors.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Someone who is stuck up and/or close-minded. If you care more about what you wear/your appearance than about your grades or extracurricular activities, then Kutztown is not the place for you.
i think KU is definitely just the right size. it's not too big, it's not too small. KU has an active housing life, so there's always something to do in the halls. KU has a really cute little town to go with it but it's not necessarily a college town. we're frequented a lot by 'RepentAmerica' but we've gotten used to it, lol. the best thing about KU is how friendly people are. especially with a knit community in the residence halls.. your friends at KU suddenly become your family and it's an amazing experience. KU's administration is okay. it depends on what you're looking for. but the President of the college has actually responded personally to almost all of my emails to him about complains I have, so he is, at least, personable.
What is the stereotype of students at your school?
it's hard to define one stereotypical KU student. i mean, there are some who party and some who don't. a pretty decent assumption though is that they probably go home on the weekends. a lot of KU students live close. although i have been hearing that KU is earning its rep as a party school.. but with the dry campus and the small town atmosphere, there aren't really that many parties to worry about..
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
Popular groups? It depends. Greek life, although small, is fairly popular. Each major offers quite a few groups and clubs that attend to their own agenda. There's always something going on in each residence hall, too. There's lots of football games, sports games, etc. In the dorms, many students leave their doors open [staff are required to, but who wouldn't want to?] Housing and ACE [Association of Campus Events] is always bringing guest speakers and concerts. We've had Jason Mraz, and most recently Frank from Post Secret and Renee from To Write Love On Her Arms. They LISTEN to what you want to see. Bearfest is the coolest thing every year. It's a festival we hold at the end of the school year, and there's always a pudding slide! It's gross but so funny to watch people on it. People party, but not all the time. Usually on a [thirsty] Thursday, everyone is out at KU. but that's about it. I don't drink while I'm at school, and I have a lot of fun just hanging out, taking trips to the diner, going to the mall, it's a lot of fun.
once you get past the general education classes in the 150 seat lecture halls on campus, the teachers almost always know your name. class participation isn't completely common unless you're in a class where everyone is engaged. KU has a small variety of interesting classes in all different parts.. i mean, i study marketing and I took an Astronomy class. KU doesn't have completely strict requirements, you have to keep a 2.0 before academic probation. but they do help you find a job.
Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?
like i said, there's not really a lot of stereotypes. KU students do tend to be suitcase students - they do leave a lot on the weekends - but there's always people around, especially in the traditional living halls where half the staff is required to stay each weekend. KU students also do like to party, but it's never in excess - there's always more to do on campus or with schoolwork or even just in the halls.
