While being in highschool if i knew what i know now, I would have studied more by myself rather than studying in groups with my friends. I say this because its very important to know your study habits in college that way you can be aware of your weakness and strong areas. Its not bad to study with friends but most times you will need to be self influenced and and independent while studying. Having study habits by yourself can never stir you wrong because you will be able to understand your work in angles that work BEST for you.

I would tell myself to be ready to study a lot. It's important to keep your GPA up and keep those scholarships. Also, don't let other people influence you. Be yourself and if people don't like it then that's their problem, not yours. Don't put friends before schoolwork. If they're truly your friends, they will wait for you to finish studying.

If I had to go back to talk to myself as high school then i would have told myself to be determined. I will also tell myself to take school serious.
stcaia
i would ell myself, not to be afraid that college is not as hard as some people make it seem. also, i would tell myself to really study more beause the same things you learn in highschool you will learn in college.
Alexis

Be happy. Pray, pay titles. tell the truth. never give up. pray for the right girl. get your life together first before you can help others or find the right person.

I would tell my self that you will have to prepare a lot more, your going to have to be ready to study. In college your treated like an adult so be ready for responsebility

I if could go back to high school knowing what i know about college life I would focus more and registering for advanced placement course to better prepare myself for college level mathematics and science courses. I would also spend more time on my studies verse with my friends that would also help tremendously with begining college coursework. Lastly if I knew than what I know now when i was a high school senior I would be more active in the community and extra curricular activities.
christina
I think I made fairly good decisions as a transitioning senior. I would only change my level of seriousness with studying for the SAT. I would also tell otherss not to worry about clothes and dressing up to go to every class.
Randall
I tell the students to choose a school not for the extarcurricular activities the school has, but for the academic opportunities that that can guarantee a great career for your future.

I would focus on instilling the same appreciation, and confidence for my education and goals I have now in my past self. I would make it clear, to reach my life goals I must apply myself 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} in everything I do. I would tell myself set up the bigger picture and break the journey down into smaller steps. To have a career and lifestyle you enjoy, you must become educated in your field of interest Environmental studies at San Francisco State University. To get to SFSU although it may not seem instantly gratifiying it is a mandatory step to do well in all your General Education classes at Junior College and in High School. Look at it one day at a time and apply yourself 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} to seemingly small things like Homework, and studying. Finally if ever you feel discouraged and stop applying yourself 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} think of your past and future accomplishments. You can and will reach them, when the combined success of your past and future work prepares you to get there. So again apply yourself 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} to your work one day at a time and you will succeed in the future.

If I could go back and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself to go straight to school after graduation. I took a break when I graduated high school, and now that eight years have gone by I am just getting the opportunity to go. I was on facebook the other day and seen one of my former classmates on there and she just got her master's degree and here I am a freshman. If only I had gone right after high school, I could have my master's degree right now. I would tell any high school senior to go right from high school.

My new college experience came about in 2008, when I lost my great technology sales job with an international company. I realized then, that since I was unable to maintain a technology job during the upturn of a technological era, i.e. google, facebook, email, security, etc... it was time for me to re-invent the wheel. My college experience has been extremely challenging for many reasons; first off, I won a scholarship to attend an HBCU college that has been in existence for more than 109 years, and this school is undergoing a facelift so as a result of all of the new construction, like a brand new football stadium, library, classrooms, and the most needed, parking deck; these are mere growing pains for a new and better environment to learn. I have to say that overall, because of the importance of Education in general, and especially in 2011, my experience is refreshing and exciting. Knowing that one day all of my hard work and efforts will benefit my family and my community, is what makes the experience extremely valuable despite the minor construction that will only be temporary so. I accept the challenge, it'll be worth it!

Overall, I have enjoyed the experience. It is a smaller atmostphere, and this allowed me to ease into college. I have had the opportunity to understand myself and what I want out of life.

These past two years have been a time of emotional and mental growth for myself. Transferring from a community college to a four-year institution has allowed me to recognize my progression as an achievement, not a mandatory requirement. The liberal arts foundation I have acquired has broadened my perspective in many areas of the world that were unfamiliar otherwise; I feel more culturally aware, in a way, from the knowledge I have gained. I have been able to expand insight not only from the educational standpoint but also a monentary perspective, as I am soley paying for my tuition. Beginning at the two-year college level was the only way for me to begin my secondary education, and has taught me a lot about money management and budgeting. I am confident in my new abilities to have a simple transition into a university, and ultimately, my career.

What I've gotten out of my college experience, at Alabama State Unversity, is so much more than what I expected to get. I've learned to managed my time better and make sure I'm where I need to be at right time. I've also learned how handle my own information in order to continue to attend college. I've learned plenty from my professors and earned wonderful grades. It's been valuable to attend ASU because, I've progressed so much in life. I found myself here and I've found people who are trusting enough to be called my friends. I value my education and i plan to put much effort in everything I do. I've worked hard at achieving what I have so far, I'm just reaching for something much higher.

My college experience as being a freshman at Alabama State Unversity has been very big accomplishment in my life thus far. It has been many hard times at school, but I learned that you should never give up on anything, even if you fail. College has taught me about networking with alot of diffrent people and how important it is to communicate with others. So far my eductional freedom has been the best experience yet. I also learned that my parents are no longer responsible for my actions. This is the time when all the decision making is up to me. Unfortunately i had to find that out the hard way.
Attending college is very valuable because it perpares me for my future. College is a place where I can really learn and feel the meaning of freedom. This not only can sharpen my mind but can also help me to grow into a more responsible young man. College is also valuable because a college degree can give hope to a student that they can achieve success even though
they are lacking skills. Hope is a necessity in life since it helps us to become more determined and confident.

I have gained so much from my college experience up to this point! It has taught me how to drive myself forward and always keep my eyes on the prize. Hard work really does pay off. If you want something, really want it, you will fight with everything you have and push yourself to achieve it.
I remember when I first went to school, I wondered if I had what it took to finish what I was starting. As time went on, I learned that everyone has it in them to be great! We only need to look inside for that strength and determination to make it to the next step, to pursue ever closer to the finish line. To quote a comedy movie, "Never give up, never surrender!"

Walking into my first class this fall semester, I had no idea what i was getting myself into. I sat in a desk at the back of the room and watched as the class filtered in. My professor popped into the classroom looking as confused as I was. I knew this class was going to be great. In my excitement of the empending semester I bought everything I would need with schollarship money and grant money. The year to come,I knew, would be life changing and a much needed change at that. I remeber that first day of classes like it was just last week. I am still looking forward to my next day of classes.
In just this past semester I have learned many things. I have learned the course work and how to balance my schedule. All the minor mistakes I made this semester won't be made next semester. I now know what courses I enjoy and which ones I will more than likely not like. All around my college experince has been eye opening. Its shown me that I have many different options. I am excited to tell you I am a college student.
