I’ve visited the campus of ASU a million times as a child attending academic and sports camps. I’ve always felt like family on campus. People recognize me that I don’t necessarily remember from my childhood, which makes me feel noticed, important, and safe. The camps prepared me for school and therefore, I believe attending college here will prepare me for life.

While I’ve chosen to attend Spelman College, I truly admire Alabama State University for its rich history and dedication to empowering Black students. ASU’s strong culture, academic programs, and commitment to leadership development stood out to me during my college search. I especially respect the university’s role in shaping students into confident professionals and change-makers. Though my journey led elsewhere, ASU’s impact is undeniable, and I have great appreciation for the opportunities it provides.

I love my wonderful hbcu, it’s a joke away from home a very family incorporating campus . There are always different clubs and organizations going on, there are several events a week at the school. There is an wonderful student coordinator who reaches out to us daily to let us know what is going on our campus daily .

I love Alabama state university the people here are nice. The only problem is it’s hard making friends cause everyone already has their friend group. Also the staff members can be rude, the professors well the ones I’ve dealt with was very nice and helpful and responded back to me when I needed help with anything.

Alabama State University is an incredible institution with a rich history and a vibrant campus community. I'm inspired by its commitment to academic excellence, diversity, and the empowerment of its students. I'm excited about the opportunity to learn and grow at ASU, and I can't wait to be a part of the Hornet family!

If your just stepping your toes into college life. Alabama state University is the place to be!The campus isnt confusing, Professors are reasonable and the food is pretty great. Campus life is pretty swell as well. Our big school events like homecoming and the magic city classic. Bring people in from all over!

In my honest opinion. Alabama State University is a university that will start its students off. It's a place where students find themselves and Alabama State encourages that. Here there is a sense of belonging and community, no matter where you come from. But that is all it is. In my opinion, Alabama State is a buffering university. Here you see who you want to become and what you want to do, but staying here long term, it's unlikely.

Alabama State is a great school to come to academically, but the other stuff, including resident, the food that's given out the the cafe, etc., could use to working on. I feel the whole campus could use a remodel because a lot of these buildings are old.

Stormi

One of the best values for the money in higher education. The support systems enable each student the opportunity to maximize their potential. The environment is really supportive from the instructors to staff and administration. The student life is also very engaging with numerous avenues for engagement.

Rosa

It is not hard for students to get hello with anything or find out any needed information. There are lots of resources offered to students and there is something for everybody do nobody has to feel alone.

Alabama State University is my first choice college. I love this college for many reasons. I I live in Philadelphia so being in Philadelphia there aren't as many programs as there are another States. Throughout my life I would like to explore an adventure and figure out what it's like to be on my own. Since Alabama State University is a hbcu high school I wanted to go because it is also the top college. Because I live far away I'm working hard everyday to apply for at least two scholarships a day so I can achieve the goal to go to my dream college.

Kristin

Attending Alabama State University was by far the best decision I could have made for an HBCU. You learn so much history about the school and the founders of such as historical college. Many schools have their ups and downs, pros and cons, and dos and don'ts, but as a college, we have to stick together and communicate as a whole. Things could be better, but nothing is perfect.

Hannah

Alabama State has been my dream and first choice school for several years. The rich heritage of Alabama State University serves as one of the preeminent reasons for me attending. At ASU I plan to major in Criminal Justice and minor in Psychology. The academic and extra-curricular balance will give me a real sense of responsibility. Having played alto saxophone for the past 8 years, I plan to join the Mighty Marching Hornets. Participating in Honor Band and watching the Marching Hornets live pushed me even more to join the band. Alabama State is going to be the university to send my education to a higher level.

Naja

I believe that people who are not serious about their education should not attend college. People who see college as only a place to party and do at ever they feel like when ever they feel like doing it should not waste their time or the government's money. The people who make all F's and D's should not attend college. Only when a student is serious about furthering their education and doing the necessary work to get a degree should they be accepted into a university.
