I am learning how to live on my own and take care of mundane things through my college experience. It has been valuabe to me becaust without the chance ,and scholardhip I would probably be still in my hometown not learning anything.

What I have gotten our of my college experience so far is the chance to learn new and exciting things. I am a political science major and it has been a pleasure to learn about political systems and the government. This is my passion and I am excited to be able to pursue it. College has been valuable to attend as this is a natural progression in my life . My parents are college graduates and college was expected after high school graduation. And I am most happy to have been afforded the opportunity to become a college student . I plan to continue on the course that I have set for myself to join the ranks of my other family members as a College graduate.

I have gotten absolutely nothing out of my college experience so far. Which is precisely the reason why I decided to leave the comfort zone which is South Florida and become a junior at the University of Central Florida. I never went away for college, even though I got accepted to every college I applied to. I decided to stay home and appease both my family and my fiance at the time. This time around, however, I've decided to make myself happy, and make a choice that only comes around when you're young. I received my Associate's from Broward College, and what I have gotten out of that college is the desire to succeed and seize all available opportunities. I value my two years there because it showed me what else is out there, and my potential for greatness and to go the extra mile. To value hard work and realize that I never want to look back on my college education and go "What if." I asked my best friend if I was making a mistake going away. His response? "You can never go wrong with school." I can't wait.

Since I have been attending college, what I have learned so far is that your college life is what you make it, and if you don't take advantage of the many opportunities to succeed that are given to you, you are wasting your time as well as the vauable time of others. you can't depend on everyone to help you though it every step of the way if you have no desire to have success yourself. I am glad that I am attending my school because it has given me the chance to meet amazing people from different places and get the experience I need to graduate and start my career in the field of Business. Since I have been in college I have learned to become less dependent on others and I have grown more as a person as well as a student. I know what it will take in order for me to succeed in school, my furture career, as well as in life and I am ready to make the most of my opportunities. The only way to succeed is through hard work, perservence, faith, and determination.

My college experience was my true growth into manhood. I grew up with no friends and no father. When I arrived to ASU I had no idea what the world had to offer or what I was facing. I learned those things in that place. I work in corporate America and it is brutal at times. No matter how hard I work it seems like my boss always wants more. Well I learned all about that at ASU. My instructors pushed and graded harshly and challenged me to study and deliver what they expected. They prepared me for corporate America. I hated it at the time of course but the drive it showed me I had gave me strength. I watch my coworkers fold under the pressure and I am glad I learned that lesson. I also built friendships that have lasted over a decade now. People I cherish have made my live exciting and new by sharing theirs. I never expected that from college. If I could do it again the only thing I would change is that I would work harder finish quicker. I would also pursue my masters from the start.

Marian

My college experience was great. You get out of college what you put into it. I adored the intimacy of ASU. I've learned a lot, made some bad choices, made some good choices, grown mentally and physically, and gained great friendships.

When you are in High School, you are told that college is necessary for career advancements and higher salaries. Since I have been in college, I have learned that choosing a school is about much more. I would tell myself to be very thoughtful about my future career plans and choose a school that fits the plan. The school should also offer many options if my decision changes. I would also say that it is equally important to pick a school with an environment that I can thrive. It is just as important to be surrounded with people that you are comfortable with because you will live, eat, and breath with these people. Find a school with organizations and activities that may interest or benefit you because you will not spend all your time in the classroom. Making friends and joining clubs will make the transition easier.

If I could actually go back to my senior year in high school I would advise myself to study, study, and do some more studying. College is not like high school and actually studying your class work will really help you do better in everything you do in college like have class discussions, homework, test, and even helping others. I would also advise myself to make more friends. In college it's not what you know but who you know. It's a real good thing when you can be social and be able to talk to others. You never know who might remember your face, smile, name, or personality. My senior year i had "senioritis" bad and in college it is essential to your education, and your dollar, to go to class. I would definitly advise myself to go to class and be on time everyday. Even though I graduated with good grades these things would have been excellent for me practice good habits before going into the real world of adulthood.

I would tell myself to try my best in high school to get all A's. Make as many friends as possible and don't be afraid to socialize when you get to college there's going to be so many people feeling the same way you do. Remeber to look for lots of scholarships because you never know when the may come in handy. Take the ACT and SAT early so that you'll know your results. Submit your college applications early because you never know what kind of scholarships you can be awarded for. Have fun in High School and get a job because many potential employers look at your work history to determine whether your cut out to work for them and you'll also be able to get an even better paying and funner job while your college . Most importanly save your money and get in the mindset to work really hard and fast.

First and foremost, i would tell myself to make A's in all of my classes. Reason for that is so my GPA would have been higher, that way i could have gotten a scholarship offer. Then i would tell myself at the beginning of the year to look at schools i may be interested in attending next year. Once i know those schools, i would see if i meet their criteria for admission and if so, i would schedule a visit to see if i like the enviroment and the campus. Looking back on it, i feel i should have done these things for the simple fact that i wouldn't be struggling like i am and barely making it into the next semester becasue of financial problems i face every semester. I should have done these things as well as partook in a sport in hopes of getting a offer from a school to play football or possibly baseball. Now that i am a junior, its nervewracking knowing that i didnt do all of these things, and i have a sense of regret because i know for a fact if i did, life would be better for me.

if i could go back and warn myself about something in college, it would have to say to myself to be more open minded because not everything that people assume is always true. As long as you keep an open mind and don't let yourself be remanded to a certain train of thought it will be fun and easy. there are so many things that you can learn from when you come to college and make a lot of new friends that will maybe be your lifelong friend. you and these friends can reminence and say things like, "i remember back in the day when..."

Meka

If i could go back in time and talk to myself as a senior there would be many things that I would say. The first thing I would tell myself is to be more focused on my work. I would also tell myself not to procrastinate. In college I have realized that waiting until the last minute is not doing my best and working to my full capacity. It's better to receive an assignment and start on it at that time. The biggest thing I would tell myself is to be the best! What i mean by be the best is to always try harder or achieve more than what is asked of you. Instead of just limiting myself I should read ahead a few pages or work an extra math problem. By saying be the best I also mean don't wait for someone to give me material teach myself. Waiting for others can result in me not knowing as much as iI can!

Stay focused on your goal. Surround yourself with positve people, who are goal orriented. Find a mentor and intern as much as possible. Get involved with more campus and community organizations. Don't waste time.

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior knowing what I know now about college life, I would give myself the advice of time management. I would let myself know that my habit of procrastinating is a habit I need to break while still in high school. College is a whole different ball game. No longer am I playing college ball, now I?m playing professional ball. Therefore, I need to create a schedule that can help me manage my time wisely. I need to get in the habit of doing homework in a timely fashion. No longer waiting until the last possible minute to finish whatever homework I had. Get a yearly planner and write down all projects, homework, papers, and other important information down so that I can have a solid foundation. Somewhere I can go and now exactly what is due and when it is due. If I can start habits like these as a high school senior, then the transition into college would be an easy one.

Brittany

If I could travel back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior I will tell myself to don't take things lightly. Don't jump into college thinking it's just like High school beacuse it's not. Never settle for less due to the fact there is so much more to the college life. Plan a future ahead of time so when you get to college you will already have in mind the goals you will like to accomplish. Also, make sure you live the college life, the experience is great and its a once in a life time chance. Not many people are able to attend College to futher their education.
