Some spiritual thinkers may actually consider a large portion of ASU's student body, it's conduct, and the lack of concern from the supervisors, to be a cycle of evil, no doubt.

Work now play later. It may sound almost stupid especially for those who want to play out the whole "college expierence," but in the long run it will pay off. Knowing the world and how competitive it is..It is almost as though you have to have a work centered mentality in order to truly make it once released out into the work force.

A quick word of caution, STAY AWAY FROM THE FRATS! They're gross and dirty and they look like the projects and most of the guys are not the nicest people. Not to mention the ones who throw the most parties are the ones that have gotten in trouble with the school and the police for drugging girls and various other things that I'm not going to go into. So unless you're into sleazy guys or you enjoy being drugged and raped or you're a sorority girl and have to go I'd stay away.

It was probably the best choice I made on school. It has been amazing!

Don't live in the dorms. The dorms are increasingly becoming major money makers for ASU. Especially don't be fooled by ASU's marketing ploys about the mandatory meal plans. They are now mandatory for all students who live in the dorms and they are for EACH SEMESTER--not a whole year. They are NOT vegetarian/vegan friendly at all. And being a vegetarian, it was impossible to eat healthy. I eventually gave up and just fed my omnivore friends with my meal plan. My health picked up so much after I stopped eating on-campus, no headaches, no stomach aches, more energy, no fighting weight gain and so on. I left the dorms just because of the meal plans. Especially don't live on-campus if you have food allergies at all. DON'T LIVE IN THE DORMS--it's just a lot of money and frustration. Don't buy into the "packages" or the new "apartments" like Vista Del Sol--just way too much money. There are real non-ASU apartments just as close to campus that are cheaper, no mandatory meal plans, no exorbitant fees for parking, quieter and don't force you to move out every 5 months. The honors college is not geared toward engineering or hard-core science students. It's meant for arts, liberal arts and social sciences. Don't get too caught up in ASU's push for bioengineering/biotechnology. It's cool an all, but the market will be flooded with too many people and not enough jobs in a few years. Only go into it if you're the best in the field and if you really want to do it. Professors are really nice if you are nice first. Never show annoyance, anger or impatience with professors even when they deserve it. You will get so much back just for being polite, especially in big lecture classes or with professors that are generally disliked. Even professors who seem mean will turn out to be very reasonable if not downright forgiving if you show respect and appear to be sincere. Get a bike, skateboard, scooter or roller blades. It's a sprawling campus and you might only have 10 minutes between classes.

I don't know what else I can say about ASU except that it is a great school. Besides the academics and party scene, the weather is great.

If you're going to college for the purpose of getting a sound education, I would recommend that you not apply here. If you're going just to say that you earned a degree or for the social life, this is the place for you.
