I am currently in my first semester at Beloit College, and it is my 4th week in classes. I already feel as though I have learned so much, and I love how professors prepare you to be engaged in meaningful conversation about the day's topic. I have ADHD, and my professors are already going above and beyond to accommodate me and make sure that I understand the topics and do not fall behind. I am looking forward to the rest of my time at Beloit College.

It's a beautiful and small college with proper values and great environment to learn , make friends , have fun. The faculty and staffs are really supportive , helpful and supportive. It's situated in small city of Beloit, if you like the place with less crowd and awesome environment, then Beloit College is a good choice.

Beloit College is a small liberal arts college nestled in the quiet town of Beloit, Wisconsin. From an outside perspective it doesn’t look like much and you probably haven’t even heard of it, but as we are taught in school is that it’s what’s on the inside that counts. To be found inside Beloit is one of the most diverse student populations you will ever find with more people from California or Washington than Wisconsin and 15% of the student body being international. This diverse student body allows students to experience cultures from different states as well as around the world and gain a more comprehensive knowledge of the people around us.
Diversity isn’t the only card Beloit has to play. This is a college that really cares about YOU. Since early November I have been in contact with the head football coach and he has helped me explore all options including the non-Beloit ones. When I went to an open house, the financial aide lady said she would send me tons of non-Beloit scholarships even if I decided not to choose Beloit. When I sat in on a political science class, the professor made sure I was comfortable and once he realized that I was, he threw me into open class discussion.
I have been accepted to Michigan State and DePaul University, but this tiny school is the one for me. It is a tight knit community with a world of opportunity available for the taking.

Beloit College is what one might expect when thinking about small liberal arts colleges. Although it's unique with a beautiful campus, a large percentage of student activists, and an eco-friendly atmosphere. If you want to grow as a socially aware individual, Beloit is the place for you. You will have a large range of classes to choose from, with passionate professors who are all willing to work with you for your academic growth.

I transfered here for my junior year and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. The academic environment was wonderful and the professors were some of the best I’ve ever known. This school isn’t going to be for everyone, but there is a good tight-knit community and plenty of opportunities to get involved in whatever you want. The food options could be better for sure though.

I wish I looked around more and did more research before applying. With the financial issues and subpar environment I might be regretting my choice.

I have never seen such an important college until I met Beloit. Understanding diversity, they have an equity over equality policy so EVERY student is treated as equal. Plus the professors are incomparable to any other school. I would absolutely recommend this college.

I went as a visitor after being accepted to Beloit College. I was able to meet and greet the professors, students and administration. The campus gives you that hometown feel. The professors are accessible with office hours for meeting if there is a need. Each teacher has a TA which can be used for questions to answer if there is a need. Also there are tudors if needed. The campus feels safe with blue boxes within view so you can activate if needed. The campus police patrols to provide security. The dorms are clean with cafeteria within walking distance outside the dorm rooms. The size of classrooms are more intimate so professors can give a sense of individuality

I think it is a wonderful college and would absolutely decide to go here again. While there are some flaws, every school you visit will have some. Beloit does its best to make students comfortable and happy while getting the best education they can.

Beloit is a great school academically. the professors are interested in their subject and in their students learning. The classes are small and offer a lot of one on one. the housing is sub par and the food is disappointing. the students are very intelligent and constantly having thought provoking conversations.

It has a beautiful campus and some great teachers, but I wouldn't say I love Beloit College they have many good resources on campus but some of the students and faculty can be rude at times and don't really care who you are even though this is supposed to be a very inclusive community.

It takes a special person to attend Beloit. The Admissions Office spends a lot of money on impressing prospective students to come here, but the housing, food, and other on-campus facilities are not the greatest. I currently live in a lounge converted to a dorm room that is separated from the hallway while a single layer of plywood that isn't even painted. The dining has very few vegetarian options and is often eh in quality. Offices are open odd times for short hours, usually during classes. I have gotten from my dorm on one side of campus to my work on the other in five minutes. Some people like this, some people don't. You will know everyone on campus and everyone will know you. Also, alcohol and drugs are very common. You can avoid them though if that isn't your scene. The people on campus are intelligent and the faculty know their stuff. The financial aid is amazing and many students I have talked to came because of this.Overall, this school isn't terrible or great, you get out what you put in.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Beloit College is 69%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would strongly encourage myself to be a serious student. I would ask myself to very earnestly consider what kind of life I want to live and be creative in my exploration of career options. I would tell myself that my world is very small as an 18 year old and a lot of the limitations that my upbringing has placed on my career choice are small minded and pessimistic. I would ask myself what I am really interested in and what kind of impact I would like myself to have on the world. I would tell myself that I am smart enough to get straight A's every semester and that there is no excuse not to do so. I would encourage myself to make good friendships but establish healthy boundaries. I would tell myself to not drink too much and to stay away from dating until I have a degree in hand, because men and alcohol will always be around, but an opportunity of attending a fantastic school is a rare gift.
The best thing about Beloit is the diversity of the type of people on campus. We have engineers and dancers and fraternity brothers and hipsters. Everybody has a place that they can find to belong in a crazy unique qay. The hipsters are the engineers, the fraternity guys are maths majors. Nobody has to be what is expected of them.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
People who aren't willing to put in the effort to expand their horizons should not attend Beloit. The professors and your peers will always be there to support you as you strive towards your goal but there is no way that you will succeed if you simply expect that to be enough. Beloit has amazing opportunities but you have to want to reach for them.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The administration does not care about us. They are making serious changes to school policies and schedules without consulting students. They also ignore members of the faculty.
People who are serious about their education and excited to learn. You must be prepared to challenge what is normal for you and forge a new idea about what kind of life that you will live. When you graduate from Beloit you will be a different person.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I brag about my close relationships with friends and professors, my experiences with research and community service, the beautiful campus, and all of the wonderful memories I have made.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish that I had a better i had a better idea of the weather, and how to buy my books online for my first semster rather than having to go through the book store which can often make it more expensive.
It's a very big, and prestigious liberal arts college that turns out many talents, smart, and most importantly well-rounded individuals that become productive members of society.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about my school was the faculty within my field of study. Due to some poor planning on their part, my fellow classmates and I, needed to complete an extra semester of school to graduate. Towards the end of our semester we were no longer able to receive housing and meals. Nothing was done for us. We had to search for areas to reside while we completed the last two weeks after the holiday break. After some support from others, this has been resolved.
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
There is no stereotypical Beloit student. We have people from every stereotypical high school clique and then some. While there are definite social groups that form on campus based on interests and personality, that does not mean that students aren't friends with people outside of their social group.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
99% of students attending Beloit College receive some sort of financial aid.
26% were awarded federal grants.61%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
