I love it. I have truly blossomed into my own. I thrive at this school. I have been given tons of career and advancement opportunities through the school. But, I have also met some of my closest friends here. The professors are incredible, they are all working professionals and teach all of their classes, not teaching assistants. With class sizes averaging around 17 students, you get to know your professor incredibly well. There is also a ton of involvement with over 130 organizations, clubs, and sports, you truly have it all. Also, I get to wake up on Lake Michigan everyday and I am between Chicago and Milwaukee and all the opportunities they hold!

Carthage is a great academically-inclined school. There is a lot of clubs and activities to join and that is where you meet new people. The rec center is a fun place to hangout and it offers swimming, rock climbing and other sport-related rooms. The people are not very social, so you have to find others like you. Sports teams aren't very good, but the school is more focused on academics. Great teachers, except one professor who "likes" female students a little too much.

My opinion of Carthage College is that it is overall a great school with an amazing view of Lake Michigan. It has good housing for upperclassmen and traditional dorms for underclassmen. The fine arts program is amazing. The Christmas Festival they have every year is just outstanding to watch.

I think it's a great college, but for the pice there are better options. I have always wanted to go to a bug state college until I went to Carthage. it changed me and how I wanted my college experience to be. After finding out the price, it was clear that Carthage just wasn't for me.

I have enjoyed Carthage College in my first year! We have some good sports teams that are fun to watch and tons of performances. The smaller classes allow for more intimate conversations between professors and peers in and out of class. It's been helpful to know that my professors know what kind of student I am, not just a face in their class. The campus itself is smaller but pretty homey. There's a downtown area about a mile from campus; however, I wish there was an easier way for students to get there. Carthage is also a 30-45 minute drive from downtown Milwaukee, and Chicago isn't much farther. The activities board also hosts many events for students and takes plenty of trips off campus to see sporting events, concerts, musicals, and more at great prices. The campus sits on Lake Michigan, allowing for beautiful scenery when studying or taking walks on the beach.

I think that Carthage College is a wonderful school filled with great opportunities and kind people. The class sizes and accessibility to professors ensure that students are maximizing their academic opportunities. They have plenty of options for on-campus jobs as well as internships through nearby companies. They have a beautiful campus and overall good vibes!
Jennifer
Carthage is a good school, I really like the class sizes not too big. The teachers are very passionate about their job and truly want the best for students. There are many social activities and opportunities for students to grow, get involved, and learn.
Susan
Many of the professors are excellent, engaged, and give their all to provide fantastic education. In my majors, I always felt connected to the curriculum and professors. Too bad the administration is terrible and continuously getting worse. They recently fired a number of staff and did away with many humanities and social science degree programs. One of my favorite professors was fired and hired back for much less money after the administration realized no one else could teach their classes. The school still claims to be a liberal arts school but is increasingly heading towards a business/trades school instead. If you're looking for a well rounded academic environment like I was when I went there, I'm sorry to say those days at Carthage appear to be over. I now recommend to soon-to-be freshmen to look at similar schools like Augustana or St. Olaf's if they want the small liberal arts experience. I also tell my friends with a Carthage degree to look into graduate programs before the school's reputation plummets any further. They're clearly prioritizing money-making degrees over ones that actually encourage intellectual stimulation. After decades of financial mismanagement, I can't say I'm surprised. But to charge the amount they do for an education and not provide what they say they will, it's well worth it to steer clear of here. It makes me sad to write this because I had high hopes for the school and my professors were outstanding. However, I feel the warning is needed at this point. The best professors are looking to move elsewhere, as they should.

Carthage College is a great place. The campus is very beautiful. I love it there. The students and teachers are so friendly. The campus is near a beautiful lake giving us students a nice view to walk past everyday. The activities and sports are really cool and I enjoy them.
Natalie
The school is wonderful. Professors know you for years after you took their class. They even help you! There is plenty of one on one to be had. Classes are very educational. You can often reach a professor in their office or even by email. There are tutoring centers that often help you out as well. The library is a great place for studying.
Giulia
The dorms are completely worn down and way too much for what they are. The campus food has been known to be disgusting. It's just overall a not good time. However, there is plenty of greek life to get involved in and weekly activities. If you like a small campus, you will like this school.

As I visited Carthage I found love in the campus and school right away. Everyone I walked past smiled at me as if they have known me forever. Class sizes for me personally are perfect since I do enjoy getting that extra help when needed. Overall Carthage is an amazing school if you are looking to get the best education possible with less distractions along with getting to know people for who they are
Kyle
It is a very fine institution. I like the classes and the events that are held. Some students can be aggressive and/or scary but I wouldn't really consider it a really big problem, at the current moment. I also think the utilities and facilities are decent.

Carthage feels like home. There are flaws in the top 5 schools in the country so there are bound to be flaws anywhere. You can't help but complain about some things especially when the college is so expensive, but it doesn't change the pride that I have for going here. It's a school that makes you feel like you belong. As a white woman, I cannot speak for everyone. But I do know the impact that some faculty members have done for students of color and beyond. There is much to be done as we are a predominantly white school, but I think there are strides being made. It isn't hard to find a good group of friends. The residence halls do not meet all expectations but the Resident Assistants and Residence Life Council push students to get involved and get to know each other within their buildings and not just classrooms. I love Carthage and I know I won't regret attending.

Overall, I love Carthage. I absolutely love the campus, campus life, and academics. First, when you see Carthage you immediately notice the beautiful lake the never failed to turn my head on the morning walks to class. I believe living on campus was also the best choice I have made. Carthage is a small school but you feel like you are in a world of your own. I live five minutes away from college, but I am so grateful I chose to live on campus. If i did not I would not have met my best friends. The housing definitely needs to be renovated in the old dorm buildings. The new ones are quite beautiful. I am all for the academics as well. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into creating the curriculum that only strives to ensure our learning and outcome. One of the few things I do not like is how poor and unreliable the shuttle system and parking lot system works. Many times have I been left in the parking lot or on campus when security has told me "you can't wait ?" or "you can't walk?" when my parking lot is a mile away. I do not appreciate how sky-high the prices are for a parking lot either. They are incredibly unreasonable. Luckily, I do have my family that is still in town that always helps out despite these unreasonable and inconsiderate policies. Other than that I love being a Lady Red at Carthage College!
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Carthage College is 69%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
From my college experiences, i have discovered a new person inside myself. I was able to discover new interests and a giant door of opportunities while going to college. Attending college and pursuing education is of course beneficial because my goal of becoming a teacher/educator and making a difference in young teens and adult lives can only be justified by educating myself. From college, I have become more open and found my true calling, education. If I did not explore the college environment, I would have not found what my true joy is and a career fit for myself. The college experience has helped me out in so many ways and is still a tool and a journey to complete. The two years I have spent in college have been the fastest, yet the most valuable years in my life. It is at this crucial time that I will be making decisions that affect my entire life in the future. That is why I believe college is right now the most important priority in my life. It has opened my eyes and ears and has made me a more rational, mature, and confident person for the future.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
Some people have problems with the lack of class choices. Not every major people want is offered here at Carthage and people need to make sure that what they want to study is offered here.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
Carthage College is a very prestigious school that appreciates the ideas and opinions of their students and faculty, while trying to make the college experience the best available.
The people are the best part of Carthage. Everyone is very friendly and caring. The professors want you to succeed and do their best to help you be successful. The students will become your best friends. Even people you don't know will show you kindness by holding open the door, even if you are still 10 feet away.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
The worst kind of person to attend my school would be someone who doesn't want to be active in any way. I found that the way to be successful at my school is to be active, not only in the classroom but also when it comes to meeting people and making friends. Most people leave this school because they don't go to class or because they don't make any real friends.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
Many of the instructors in my field (Musical Theatre) are either well known or have accomplished much in the field. I believe the staff here is very talented and well rounded.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
The campus is beautiful and calming, the professor are informative and willing to help. The general population is of energetic, friendly people which makes it easy to feel a home.
I love going to Carthage College. It is a school that takes pride in the education they offer. Life at Carthage is fun and normally always can find something to do.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
