I am partial to UWW, as it is the only university I've attended. However, you do meet plenty of cool people for such a small school. I know plenty of people who come to college to party, but there are also the groups who are very academic, who I usually stick with!
Andreana
I love Whitewater, it is a small, simple town but it's what you make of it. Try to make friends and participate in activities. The academics are great and the housing is average. The food is getting better unless you are super picky. Overall, I love this school and the friends I've made.
Sophia
I like that all the class sizes are just right for me. At a maximum, there would be around 40 kids in a class. This is only for science classes. Most classes are between 20-30 students. The city of Whitewater is small enough to feel homey but large enough to not feel in the middle of nowhere.

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is a great school! They have plenty of majors to pick from, classes are all achievable, the staff are always friendly and there to help, there are many students on campus so it's not hard to meet new people, and overall, just a very happy and friendly environment. 10/10 would recommend!

There are great perks to being a Warhawk, such as the graduation rate and being hired before graduating. Football games are packed and Greek Life is the BEST. Bars in town have the cheapest drinks around and the friendliest bartenders. Always something to do on campus or off campus.
Madison
I really like it there. Sometimes I wish we had better housing but hey, we pay the lowest prices in the state and get the most bang for our buck as possible. I'm just trying to get out of here debt free and it looks like it might work out that way. 10/10

I think that Whitewater is a very good college, there are so many different opportunities that you are more than welcome to take. The professors are all very helpful and there are so many service hours that you can get. I find the classes challenging, but the teachers are always there when you need help, inside and outside of the classroom.

It is a fine school with adequate accommodations in almost every sense of the word, however, it feels rather uninspired. Your fellow students rarely talk about anything intellectual outside of class, where it is mandated, and a good number of the professors I experienced did not seem to be all that enthusiastic about the subject matter they taught.

The University of Whitewater is a very welcoming place. There is something new to observe every single day in this very quaint, but effervescent, small Wisconsin town. If you are looking for a comfortable community with stellar academic opportunities and beautiful scenery around campus and town, then this is the place for you!

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is an amazing campus. It has amazing academics, sports, housing, food, and groups to join. There truly is something for everyone on campus. Whether that be joining in Greek Life or participating in theatre or getting one of the many jobs on campus. UW-W is one of the best colleges in Wisconsin and, dare I say, the Midwest!

My overall opinion of University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is that it is a great school for people wanting to go into Education or Business. Both of these programs are well known for their colleges and programs. Students are continually pushing each other to become involved. There are a variety of organizations to get involved in. These organizations will help incoming students find friends with common interests. Whitewater is also very affordable and there are also scholarships available that Whitewater provides. Overall, I am happy with the school. If you are looking for something to do off campus, it may be a drive though.

I love the size of the campus. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from one side to the other. However, being there for almost 5 years now. It is tiresome. People are pretty nice and there is always something going on. Whether that be sporting events, theatrical plays or musicals, art exhibits, greek life, or just night life downtown on weekends. There are so many organizations it is easy to be involved.

Academically, whitewater is a good school. There are several resources on campus for students with disabilities and a new tutor center was just built. Every hall has a computer lab with free printing everywhere. There are business fairs, conference rooms, and interview preparations to ensure success. Class sizes are small, some are large, but it is very easy to get in contact with professors regardless of the class size.
Although the school has good recourses, the city of Whitewater is boring, there are not a lot of food places, and nowhere to shop. The only large store in the city is Walmart. The nearest city, Janesville, does not have good businesses either. The nearest best city is either Milwaukee or Madison. Whitewater is a backpack campus, meaning that it can be a ghost town on weekends, as people like to visit home often. The city has awful services- snow plowing is bad, no cabs or ubers, and no fun city events. The roads are terrible because there are holes in the streets and extremely steep slopes at the end of every driveway. The off -campus houses are almost all run day and moldy with lots of bad landlords.
Some of the facilities on campus are nice, but the city overall is not attractive or entertaining. This is a good campus if you are planning on coming for an education and going home on the weekends, but if you are looking for a nice place to live and things to do, this is NOT the place for that. I hope this review is helpful and it is not only my opinion, many people have this opinion of UWW.

If you are a student who never needs help you'll be fine. If you're the kind of student who needs tutoring you should try to go anywhere else. I'm a third year Senior now and I will most likely have to drop out because I can't get any help with anything. I don't even have a program advisor (which I have been complaining about for two years now).
Victoria
The school feels like my home away from home, the environment and culture surrounding campus is very positive and you know everyone is here for their education. There is the occasional party you hear about but the party culture is not prominent if you don't get involved in it, it is overall a really good school.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is 69%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back and give myself advice for my future college career I would have told myself that just going to class doesn't cut it. In order to thrive in a university setting you have to balance your priorities, friends, and other obligations. Time management is immensely helpful when you incorporate it into your daily schedule. Never be afaraid to talk in class or ask for help. I wish I had known that earlier on because you can't learn when your only hearing directly from the professor. Student input is essential. Don't be afraid to take your learning to the next level and use your teachers to network into your desired career field. After all your paying for the knowledge and instruction you recieve here.
Diversity! The best thing about UW-Whitewater is the fact that the small community loves to embrace diversity. If you have a different point of view you should never be afraid to put it across in Whitewater. Also the fact that there are not many distractions help people study and concerntrate better.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
One of the most frustrating things about college is the student living. Although living on campus has provided me with many amazing experiences, learning to adapt to the extremely new environment is sometimes agravating. In my first semester at college I often became frustrated with the noise level in the dorms and sometimes found it hard to concentrate on homework and studying. The most frustrating thing for me in my first semester at collge was learnig to adapt to the new college atmosphere so that I could get still get the necessary school wok done while living in the dorms.
For a Wisconsin School I would say it is ranked in academics 3,from Madison number 1, Lacrosse 2. Whitewater does have certain programs that give the University itself a overall positive gist that shouldn't be in place. Most likely if you talk to someone out of state, the would ask you back, if its in the middle of South Dakota?
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
Don't bother with the activities, their all losers that probabaly will talk to their mom's about you every night before they get tucked into their dorm beds.
The social life is really a hit or miss, i don't like calling WW a suitcase college but in reality it is. They definately good house parties, but remember it is a small town with a college smack dab in it. "haters" aka the UW-Whitewater Police Dep. so whack, we the students make their nights and early days.
comments: all the hot girls you see walking around during the day, hibernate in their living quarters for the weekends, for every 10 guys, you will be lucky if there is 4 girls, yeahhhhh......
Almost kind of sad how much the teachers are pushovers. Most of them are unprofessional, and lazy. Most students were that "kid" in high school....aka never changed in gym class(dumb).
What is the stereotype of students at your school?
Camo apparel to class during the fall, and Wisconsin girls trying to dress like their not from Wisconsin.
-Guys wearing birkenstocks
-Guys wearing Brewer hats when 3/4 of them are from MKE suburbs
-Girls buying Northface at Northface Outlets
-Girls rocking fake purses, when they drive Pontiacs
Girl/Guy- wearing high school apparel, no one cares where you went to high school, it probally sucked
