Concordia University-Nebraska (or CUNE) is the best college I've attended. The people at CUNE are amazing. Professors here are more accessible than those at the previous colleges. They not only care about how well you’re doing in class, but also genuinely care about how you as a person are doing, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. For instance, one of my professors sent out an email to all of us, checking in with each of us to see how we were doing and if there was anything he could help with. He even encourages us to set a time with him to meet with him in person during his office hours, if needed. No other professors in at my previous colleges did this. It also helps that the class sizes are not very big. There aren’t these massive seminar rooms with a hundred students in them. I don’t feel like I’m just another number lost in a sea of students. I feel comfortable talking in class and the teacher knows me by name. It’s an experience I hope that I’ll be able to continue.

Great School, Love the community, evreyone is so nice and makes you feel welcomed. I play on the football team there, its like a family. Couldn't have asked for a better place to change as a better man, and guide me onto my next steps after college! Its helped me grow so much as a student athlete and a better person. Here you will make lifelong friends and build memories of a lifetime!

Concordia University Nebraska is a private Lutheran university that has a surprising number of international students and leadership opportunities. We have a competitive speech team, both wonderful arts and music programs, and countless sports opportunities. We have a variety of on-campus hall options but we also have many off-campus housing options. The office staff is friendly and helpful and the cafeteria food is overall satisfactory. Concerning opportunities for employment, the university offers positions in the library, in the cafeteria, with buildings and grounds, as a Resident Assistant or Resident Coordinator, writing for the school newspaper, and there are many off-campus employment options.
Students tend to be friendly and professors are overall very good with instructing and teaching students.
I would rate Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska a solid 9 out of 10.

This is the most welcoming, family-oriented, and Christ-centered campus I have ever boasted and I visited a couple other private Christian institutes as well. Not only are the students who attend very open and friendly to meet new people, the professors are also rather kind and go out of their way to meet the needs of their students, and I have never felt more at home than when I’m living on campus here at CUNE. This is my home. I have already attended here for one year and have grown so much in my faith, developing Christ-centered relationships, and a lot of confidence in the person I am becoming.

Concordia Nebraska has been monumental in helping me achieve my goals and will continue to be a fantastic help in the coming years. As a music major, Concordia is perfect for me because of its talented music professors, its multiple ensembles, and its generous financial aid - both in music scholarships and merit awards. I can't speak for others, but I firmly believe that Concordia has something to offer for everyone.
Kyndle - 05/21/2019
I have only just recently enrolled at Concordia University and have not yet attended classes on campus. However, I have done my research and am very familiar with the quality of education, the extracurriculars available, and student life on campus. Several of my friends have attended college there including three of my four adopted brothers who graduated from CUNE, and the fourth is still in attendance. Not only is it a wonderful college for future teachers to graduate from but there are fantastic groups and activities as well. CUNE has a skilled football team along with a sundry of sports including rare ones such as shooting sports. CUNE also has a strong music and theatre department which includes a very prestigious A Capella choir. Most of the students are well-read, knowledgeable, and friendly which makes for a wonderful campus atmosphere because intellectual discussion can be found anywhere. All the students I have met, the professors I have talked with, and the staff I have worked with, have all been extremely kind, helpful, and welcoming. I have had nothing but good experiences. CUNE is a private Christian college, so most of the students and faculty are Christians and openly profess their faith and they often support and encourage one another in a Christian manner. Growing up in the public school system where religious beliefs were shushed and suppressed, the Christian atmosphere of CUNE is something I have always longed for. I am beyond excited to begin attending such a unique college!

Concordia has quite a few international students, but most everyone is within driving distance. Those who can not easily drive home on the weekends stay or go home with friends nearby, which is a great representation of our small-town friendly vibe. Staying on campus during the weekend is sometimes difficult because there is not much to do entertainment wise (the movie theater only takes cash and I have only found one ATM in town). Then again, not having a ton of distractors in town definitely helps my bank account and my grades!

I love it so much, Concordia has the best atmosphere I've ever been a part of! Everyone is super confrontational and there's smiles everywhere. You can get to know your professors super well and they know all the students by name. You aren't just a number here. Making friends is super easy. The price may be pretty scary but they give a ton of scholarship money out so it's really not as bad as it looks if price is your concern.
Kenneth - 06/08/2018
Concordia isn't for everyone but it is a great college. They need more diversity to be better, there's nothing wrong with all of the white students there its just if a person of color sees a school just full of white people they might explore there options a little more. overall i give the school a 8/10.
Katherine - 05/17/2018
Concordia has a lot they can fix and change but they also have several things going for them as well. The class sizes and the fact that our professors care is wonderful but sports is the most important thing on campus while the fine arts is on the back burner even though that is the highest interest in school. Concordia needs to encourage students to become more involved in the fine arts and encourage students to go to the programs because it is a fine arts school.
Sarah - 02/13/2018
I have really enjoyed being here at Concordia! The professors really care about their students and are very willing to help us succeed! There is a very strong Christian atmosphere here! As for free time, there are many activities planned for the students and sporting events are always fun.
Joanna - 02/07/2018
The alumni there and faculty are very nice and helpful. Professors are always available when you need them and are helpful.
Jennika - 01/09/2018
Concordia University is a very unique experience. It gives you the small town charm but you still have close proximity to a bigger city. Here you will find genuine relationships regardless of religious affiliation. The sports are a top-tier NAIA program that are constantly competing for conference championships. The classroom setting is a perfect size to get to know your professors on a more personal level.
Corrianne - 11/25/2017
Concordia University is a wonderful institution. It is truly a community. While the campus and student population is small, there are many connections and opportunities for each student. I have enjoyed my time at Concordia very much because of the experiences I've had: music, travel, spiritual growth opportunities, on-campus jobs, and the amazing friendships I've formed with like-minded people. The professors here truly care and make time to listen to you. They care for you not only in academics, but also spiritual and emotional well-being.
Kianna - 11/19/2017
Concordia University is a great community, full of wonderful students and professors. The professors are always willing to help. Class sizes are small and personable. Sports are well ranking. There are numerous opportunities for students to connect whether in clubs, sports or other activities.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
College is much harder than high school. You need to develope good study habits, finding a quiet place outside of the dorm room is a great place to study so that things like video games and roommates are not a distraction. It is good to think of school as a full time job. During the day you are gonna have breaks in between classes, so if you go to class and do homework from 8 to 4 just like a full time job then you will have the nights to do what you like. College is all about planning and time mannagement. Unlike high school you can't just breeze through college. You need to be focused and stay on top of your studies so that when you have to travel for sports you won't get behind. Good Luck.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
Concordia is a small school filled with friendly people. You never feel like just a face in the crowd, and you make amazing friends that you know will be your friends for life. I love the Christian environment that allows me to express my faith openly every day.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I would have known more about how much free time I would actually have, giving me the opportunity to look for a part-time job sooner. I also wish I would have known exactly how much financial aid I was getting along with scholarships and how it worked.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing is probably the lack of diversity. Located in a small town in Nebraska, there isn't a lot of diversity in this area anyway, and most students who come here come for the conservative, Christian, small town environment. It's really nice and I enjoy that people here share and support my values, but it would be great to get more foreign exchange students to come here to provide more exposure to other cultures.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
This school has an extremely close-knit community and the offers so many opportunities to its students. At some schools, you have to choose which activity to be involved in. Here, you can do clubs, sports, drama and on-campus jobs. It is easy to get involved in many things.
My school is best known for its focus on religion. The school stresses the spiritual growth of the students through multiple spiritual building activities such as daily chapel services and bonding experiences.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
A person should attend this school if they desire a smaller university setting. This person can be introverted or extroverted. There are many different types of people at this school, but the ethnic diversity is lacking. People should attend this school if they appreciate a personal touch where not only a lot of students, but professors also, know your name and are interested in knowing more about you.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
100% of students attending Concordia University-Nebraska receive some sort of financial aid.
