I have very high hopes at entering Lincoln as it is a D1 school and also the capital city of the state. I visited many times and I love the energy and the positivity many people spread. I am very excited to get involved in activites and clubs as well as watching school games.

I guess I have nothing to compare it to, but so far I've loved UNL. It's a fairly walkable campus, which is great for me. My professors have all been amazing, my classes have been very enjoyable, and I love campus life. The Esports organization is so fun and welcoming, I've made so many friends through it. Obviously game day is huge for the Huskers, so it gets pretty electric on campus Saturdays during football season.

I loved UNL. It has a wonderul, expansive campus with a diverse culture. There is a variety of majors, plenty of activities to be involved in, and is a very safe campus. The professors are accessible and helpful. I loved the history included in the buildings and of course, the sporting events are truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Overall, a wonderful campus and it's life that flows from it.

Overall I think the University of Nebraska Lincoln looks like a great school. With every school there is gonna be alcohol and drugs no matter how much it is tried to be prevented so that is not something that really bothers me. Lincoln has amazing opportunities when it comes to clubs and sports whether your thinking career wise or just a dip in the artistic realm. If I was gonna rate Lincoln I would say probably an 8 out of 10 if your looking for a big campus with lots of opportunities. The one big down side is how safe it is gonna be considering it is more like a big city scene.

UNL is a beautiful campus; surprisingly large and chock-full of activities to do. However, being that it is a research-based institution, it feels as though some of its academic body could be stronger. My experiences at other Class-B universities has taught me the funding of a school does not guarantee its quality of education. They also poorly manage their money towards the arts and non-STEM majors, totaling $11 million in budget cuts across multiple non-STEM colleges last year. The Greek life, while fun, is quite exclusive, and there is an obvious disconnect between the Greek communities and the rest of campus. Overall, it is not a bad university, but there are certainly areas of improvement- especially in Arts/Literary Education, campus community involvement and fiscal decision-making.

Overall, UNL is a very good school. It is a big campus, so there are plenty of people to connect with and talk to. Knowing the party scene as an underclassman can be difficult if you are not in Greek life. On the flip side, the academic challenge has been rewarding. And there are many resources for students, like mental health services, free legal advice, and general well-being seminars. GBR!

The campus, especially East campus, is very calming and pleasant. The library is a really nice place to study with coffee nearby. I live off-campus, so I can't say anything about campus dorms and living. Dr. Kautz is the best Gen. Chem. professor! I extremely recommend him. For the Forensic department, it's a bit disorganized. That disappointed me a bit as looking at the program it appeared like a great program. Despite that, Dr. Reil is a lovely professor. She is my favorite professor of the forensic department.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is a great place to go to school. Don't get me wrong: it definitely has its flaws. But in the grand scheme of it all, you accept the place that you feel comfortable in, and there are about 25000 students who would say they have accepted it here.
Emilie
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is an amazing school. There are so many unique and diverse opportunities to experience, such as the squirrel-watching club. It'll be hopefully a good experience for me to break out of my comfort zone. I am hoping to attend it with a major in Business Administration in the Fall of 2023.

It is a very interesting and diverse school. It has a lot of opportunities and is very accomadating to all of the university's students. I would definitely recommend the university as a school to attend if you are looking to further our education and get your degree.
Paige
It is a great place to be. I didn't expect to love it as much as I do, but now I hate being in my hometown because life on campus was so amazing. It has great food all over campus that can be bought with our meal plan so I rarely spend money while in college.
Carin
I love my school, but I wish they took more pride in what they served their students to eat. I also think that the opportunities for work for international students could be more. Especially since it is already a struggle for their families to afford. Every little bit helps.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln is best for those who want to experience the full college experience. It is a big name school but it is not overwhelmingly crowded or big. I love that I can live in the dorms and still be close to my classes. It is about a 10 minute walk from my dorm to my furthest class. UNL's campus is not too big or too small, its just right. This school does not lack school spirit! Gamedays are a huge part of UNL's traditions. The atmosphere is radiant and you will immediately feel welcomed. The professors are nice and provide their office hours in the syllabus. I would recommend UNL to students who want to experience college life at a big name school without feeling overwhelmed on campus.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln is a great choice which offers several opportunities, resources, and extracurricular activities. It is also a diverse body consisting of many opportunities to merge cultures. However, I can understand that it's not suited for every single person's dream paths.
Samanntha
I love it here! There is a great variety of people and you will for sure find your friends, which to me, besides academics, is one of the best things about college. The food at the dining halls is pretty good too honestly, it is best if you do not eat at the same one every night to mix it up but they have a good variety!
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for University of Nebraska-Lincoln is 75%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Looking back at my first year of college, one of the first things I would tell myself as a high school senior is to purchace your textbooks (at least the expensive ones), from somewhere other than the bookstore on campus. They really pump the money out of you and I could have easily saved over $1000 on books alone. I also would have told myself to not get a seven day meal plan and only stick with the five day one. I always went home on the weekends and I never used my meal plan on those days so I could have saved some more money there. On the academic side of things I would advise myself in high school to study extra hard and try and score good on the ACT. I was one point away on my ACT from getting a free ride from the University so I definately would advise that. Besides those few things the biggest things I would have told myself would have been to relax during that first year and have fun, because college only comes once so you should live it up and explore, and find ways to meet new people.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The campus is all close together so you have to walk everywhere. In a lot of places the sidewalks are cracked and unlevel so you have to watch your step!
There are so many opportunities here and there is a club or organization for everyone. I have found so many great things to get involved in and I have met a lot of great people doing it.
If there were one thing I would change, it would be the walking distances! Especially from Harper, Schramm, Smith!
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln is a large 4-year College. The campus is fair-sized and one can get to one side to the other in about 15-20 minutes. The classes are great and so are the students.
Everything is easily reachable by foot, and if it is not, the school bus will take you where you need to go. You are given a bus pass at the begining of the year so no matter where you want to go, it wont cost you any money to get there. The people here are also very kind, it must be a midwest thing, but I have found the most friendly and approachable people so its very easy to fit in at a school like this.
-Some professors know my name, some.
-Favorite: SPAN 319, Phonetics
-Worst: ACCT 201
-I study every single day.
-It depends on the class, but class participation is at a minimum.
-I think my major is not adequately explained to incoming freshman. I was lucky that I found it (International Business).
-I rarely spend time with my professors outside of class.
-The academic requirements change CONSTANTLY! It's frustrating. I will graduate with almost 30 credits that won't be applied to my degree.
-I feel that yes, the classes I have taken at UNL are definately geared torwards getting a job.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
The honor's program was very appealing because of the small classes and thesis you do your senior year. The greek life and the campus's appearence was also a big plus.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
Football! UNL is known for their football program, as well as the thriving social scene. I also brag about the Greek System here on campus, as well as the ability to get help finding a future job.
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
-The most populare groups are either the Greek system or ASUN.
-I'm involved with CBA Student Advisory Board, a teaching assistant, volunteering as a notetake for students with disabilities, etc.
-Athletics rule the school. Football is HUGE! It's the state's pride and joy.
-My closest friends are people I knew from high school, met during study abroad, and serve with in the Army.
-2 AM, I'm studying.
-I party very rarely. I choose not to drink so I stay away from that scene.
-I used to be Greek...not anymore.
-What did I do last weekend? I was at drill for the Army.
Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?
This stereotype is absolutely not true. I have not had a problem fitting in or getting involved. My class sizes are appropriate and professors are easy to communicate with through e-mail and office hours.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
I love my school, but if I had to name one thing that frustrates me I'd have to say the parking is pretty limited. I love the motorcycle parking up front, but if its rainy or snowing and I have to drive my truck, I have to park very far away.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
I cannot judge a person or say they cannot attend a college of his or her choice. God is the only one who can judge a person. No matter if they sin or not God forgives and ask us not to judge a person.
The sports scene at UNL is crazy especially for the football team. Tickets for the games go on sale in March the year before and if you don'tget on right away than you are stuck not going to a game or you have to buy one from another student who can't go, usually for a higher price tha the face value. Downtown Lincoln and the UNL campus are crazy with all the fans that come to support the Huskers. Nebraska Cornhusker football has sold out all of its home games since before 1968 and there is no end in sight.
I had always dreamed about going to this school bu I doubted at first that I could get in which is why I chose to go to a school in South Dakota. My family moved down to Nebraska a few months before I started college and so I was left all alone in South Dakota. After a year of being up there I decided to give it a shot and to see if I could get into UNL. I had decided that if I got accepted I would transfer and if not I would stay at SDSU. I got accepted and started my sophomore year at UNL.
