Although Edinboro University of Pennsylvania has it's faults, it also has a beautiful campus, many caring professors, and a wide range of majors. I am a freshman at Edinboro University and although I have already experienced bullying and a minority faculty not wanting to help, many professors and employees tried their best to help support me and stop the harassment. The best thing about this school are the good teachers and staff who genuinely care. The school has a lot of 'politically correct' people who are not open to conversation and different opinions, which can be hard. The campus seems to be a 50/50 split between politics and it clashes.

This was my first year at Edinboro and although I was online the school put in lots of effort to make students feel involved. All of my professors are extremely helpful and are always available to assist students in need. The classes are small, making them feel personal and the professors know everyone by name. I love the atmosphere at Edinboro and am so glad I chose this University over other Universities.

Edinboro University has great accredited programs, including the art department I am enrolled in. People have graduated from Edinboro and moved on to work on popular animated movies such as How to Train Your Dragon and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The programs offered in my department are serious, yet enjoyable. The professors are frequently available for one-on-one time and will do anything to see a student succeed. I would highly recommend going to Edinboro University for Fine or Studio Arts.

I am accepted as a freshman at Edinboro University for the Fall of 2020. However, I’ve had the pleasure of attending four summer’s worth of band camps through Edgewood Sr. High School. So essentially, I have spent one month “living” on campus. The dorm rooms were nicer than what I had pictured in my mind. They were more like little apartments than the one room dorms I had stayed in during cheer camp. I was so impressed with the culture and upkeep of the campus that it ended up being my top choice for colleges. The summer resident advisors living in the dorms were super helpful and encouraged us to explore the campus pool, bookstore and soccer areas during our break times. The campus is a medium sized campus so it’s fairly easy to walk to any destination. The only part of Edinboro I was not thrilled with was their dining services. However, I’m sure most college campuses serve “crowd pleasers” like greasy hamburgers, pizza and fries. At least they offered a fresh salad bar each day! I’m sure over the next school year I will adapt to the menu! Additionally, my mom and I attended Edinboro’s Open House last summer and I was able to meet with professors and current students in my field of study. This visit cemented my desire to attend the university. Due to Covid 19 I am missing out on the ending of my senior year but planning my freshman year at Edinboro has kept my spirits up!

I like Edinboro and there are some great people here. You just have to be willing to put yourself out there and be willing to make the best of your time here in order to make the most of being here. Get to know others while you are and get to know the advisers, they are here to help and want to see you succeed.

There’s something about Edinboro University that makes it feel like home. Maybe it’s the people that work in the dining hall that know students by name and ask them how their doing. Maybe it’s the way the university embraces artists, encouraging them to get their work in their on-campus galleries. Maybe it’s the faculty that want students to ask questions and be there to assist them whenever they can. Maybe it’s the diversity here that brings so much life and culture around students. Maybe it’s the community around the university that come to every game to cheer students on and offer discounts to them because they care. Maybe it’s the university itself, offering a long list of majors and programs to every type of student, young or old, to gain knowledge. Maybe it’s the students themselves who join to create clubs for every interest or offer advice and support for new students. Maybe it’s the eco-friendly attitude that the university upholds by composting and having a garden where most of their produce comes from. Maybe it’s the four seasons cycle the area has, offering perfect winter weather or perfect summer weather. Maybe it’s the financial offices that have days for students to come in and speak with them about their options and opportunities, face to face. Maybe it’s the study abroad programs that offer students of every major to experience the world. Maybe it’s just Edinboro University being a place that values every student and wanting that student to succeed.

I absolutely love Edinboro! It's truly the only place where they make college feel like home. The professors are great and they make you want to attend class. The atmosphere is so friendly! Within the first week I made so many new friends. I'm proud to be a fighting scot!

Even though I have only attended this school for a rather short period of time, my experience has been more pleasant than not. My professors have been available to me and have seemed like they truly want me to succeed. My classes have been challenging me, but I'm learning a lot and that's why I'm going to college. This university's education program is great and I can't wait to continue my education at Edinboro University.

Edinboro University is really fun and active in the community. Every second is fun yet they are also very well educating. I'm always excited to learn and get up in the morning to see what today brings me since having started attending Edinboro University. I'm glad to have chosen to attend Edinboro University.

I love Edinboro University. The first college I ever visited, and I applied and got in, and then enrolled and never looked back.

Edinboro University not only offers a truly great education at an affordable price, it is a home away from home. It is a place that has a place for everyone. Staff will go above and beyond to make a student feel comfortable and engaged. Labs are accessible and well appointed. Academic success is achievable for every major.

Edinboro University was the only school that felt like home when I toured campus. The campus is beautiful, the layout is just amazing. The dorms are astonishing, having many options to choose from. The town around Edinboro is small but gives off a very home like essence.

Edinboro is a great school. It met my expectations of what college was going to be like. You can't blame the college for having alcohol or drugs on their campus. Young adults will be sneaky young adults, and although the school is technically in charge of them, they don't entirely control them. So with that in mind, Edinboro has all of the basic needs that incoming students would value and great food that won't make you regret gaining the freshman fifteen. The people here are kind and the teachers are dedicated to the student's success.

Edinboro University of Pennsylvania is a nice size school with only about 6,200 students. The on campus housing is amazing with many different options whether its your own room or a living room. The food does need a little work, however, its edible and there is a variety. I am a nursing student so my average class size is smaller then most classes at Edinboro. I would say that most classes have about 100 students at the most and 30 at the least. I do have to give my credit to the Nursing Program. Their pass rate is one of the highest in Pennsylvania. The atmosphere of the school is very friendly and welcoming so those who are incoming students always feel comfortable. Overall, EUP is a great school if someone is looking for a medium size school, friendly peers, and great academics.

Edinboro University is a decent campus. Teachers are willing to help if you show you are willing to work hard. There is many opportunities to join extracurriculars like Greek life or intramural sports. If you have the chance to live on campus take it because it is a great way to stay involved and meet new people.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Edinboro University of Pennsylvania is 95%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would first look at what kind of educational programs the college offers that will support your major. If you cannot get the appropriate education for what you want to major in, then you need to find another college. It needs to have an extensive program that best fits your needs. I would also look at tuition and housing prices. The university I attended made it very easy for students to apply for financial aid, and that is how I was able to attend. If you cannot afford the tuition, look into financial aid and apply for scholarships. These really help. To make the most of your college experience, make sure that you GO TO CLASS! You need to attend classes to get the information you will need to pass. Also, do not overwhelm yourself in any given semester. If you can only handle 12 credits instead of 18, then just take 12. It does not do you any good to be so burned out that you can't retain anything. Remember...you are in college to learn and prepare for your future so make the most of your time there!
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
Entering Edinboro University, one will immediately notice the unique bond developed among students. Similar to that of a family, through academic integrity and friendship, students and faculty alike share an uncommon connection. In addition to this comfort, Edinboro offers a large source of inspiration to promote uniqueness, variety, diversity, and pursuit of one's dreams. Musically and artistically inclined, students can tap this source by simply observing the products of their fellow's creative ingenuity.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
What I don't like is that there isn't enough funding for the Arts. My school doesn't have the money for better equipment in the film and animation studios, the only way they are able to replace parts is by student studio fees every semester but it's still not enough. We need the money to be able to learn new computer software and to compete with other colleges.
I believe any person who is willing to get involved or go out of their way to be active on campus should attend this university. There are a lot of chances to make a difference on this campus and be a student leader, but it will not be handed to you. Students must make the great things happen for themself using the resources that this university provides.
The faculty is very understanding, and easily to talk to on a professional and personal level. If you are having idenity or life problems they are very easy to go to and ask for advise/help.
I believe my school is best known for their education and art program. The art program is what brought me to Edinboro, its very hands-on however it is know push over.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
This school is not known for its academic. Not a lot of smart people come here and a lot flunk out. There are also students in wheelchairs everywhere so patience is neccessary. A lot of the advisor are crazy and they may lead you in the wrong direction becasause they have no idea what they are doing.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
That when i was a sophomore i became president of a student run theatre orginization and vice president of a coed theatre honors fraternity and that i get a lot of time to be on stage or activitly involved in theatre on my campus
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Edinboro is very student oriented and cares about the students success. As a freshman it is mandatory for every student to attend what is called common hour. Common hour gives you the ability to find out about different careers and different options the campus has available. Say a student comes in and wants to major in art but attends common hour and finds out they would rather be a science teacher. Also common hour allows you to meet other students who are majoring in the same field as you.
I would say that we have a good academic program here at Edinboro University. I can say more specifically that we have a great Nursing program. With a small program you get to know the professors on a one to one basis. They are always willing to help the students.
Depending on the class, it will have either more or less persons. For example: major classes like Psychology 101 and Sociology 100 may have up to 30 or so people while a remedial class like Math 020 may have a small amount of people.
The ones that I have had so far have been pretty kind and willing to help. They made sure that every student they had knew their office hours and stayed after class to help if needed.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
96% of students attending Edinboro University of Pennsylvania receive some sort of financial aid.
46% were awarded federal grants.75%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
