Elmhurst University is a small private university but it has a big heart. People are so excited to talk to each other and engage in conversation. It is such a positive place where people make sure to have each other's backs. The upperclassmen always give tips to the lower grades and make them excited to carry on with their major. The academics are strong, led by wonderful and highly educated professors. Another great thing is that class sizes are small, so it is easier to get help from the professor if a student is struggling. Elmhurst University is extremely inclusive, so people generally are open to hearing a wide variety of ideas from many people, which broadens friend groups and fosters a positive environment. I feel extremely comfortable with this school and I truly feel as if my knowledge is growing with each class I take or interactions that I have with the amazing professors here.

I love it, from the school, the students, to the town, it is an amazing experience for out of state or down the street. It embodies a willingness to be applicable, capable, or a center for prosperity. It allows us as students to become the person we want to be, while learning about ourselves. Not to mention the prestigious programs available and the infinite groups or activities you can join.

My opinion is that Elmhurst needs to do a better job of making students' safety a priority. Bad things happening inside those dorms and houses need to be better supervised. Authority on campus is not likely to listen to your qualms or take you seriously if you're not an athlete.

If you like a small school and a small friend group vibe, this is the place. Everyone knows everyone and house parties are the big thing unless you can go to the bar which is lit mainly only on thursday nights. and there’s only like 2 main bars and one club. Food isn’t the best but the salad and sandwich bars are nice and clean. Professors aren’t the best but you’ll find a gem at least once a year. Not a bad school but I would have gone else where if I didn’t meet my best friends.

Elmhurst College is a cool place to expand your studies. The professors are honestly very attentive to their students, they make time for them apart from their office hours. There are tons of clubs to join, although there is greek life, people are not really interested in that. There are many clubs that attract people from different ethnicities and cultures. It makes students to get involved in clubs.

I absolutely loved my time at Elmhurst College. The campus is absolutely beautiful and it is a registered arboretum. The class sizes are small and you are able to connect with other students and the professors are accessible. There are many clubs and student organizations to join. You should join at least one! I met my husband and closest friends at Elmhurst. It was one of the best experiences of my life.

The college is fine, but master's classes are not what I expected them to be in terms of how much I pay versus what I get from them. I'm disappointed that I chose to pursue my master's here.

I went there for my undergrad and graduate degree. It feels like a college and is really beautiful. That is one reason I went. It is extremely easy to get around campus. A car is never needed. You can wake up 5 minutes before class and get there on time. Professors are always available over email. People go home on weekends a lot so there isn't always someone around. The professors are really intelligent and usually have their mastery in whatever degree they teach. They offer flexible programs for adults. There is a lot to do around campus that doesn't involve school.

Elmhurst college offers many competitive undergraduate and graduate programs, extracurricular opportunities, on-campus jobs, and great student-faculty relationships. The campus provides many study spots as well as newly renovated facilities. Elmhurst College focuses heavily on the academic success of their students as well as athletic success. The Center for Professional Development helps current students with career mentoring and shadowing as well as graduate school preparation. With the variety of clubs and organizations Elmhurst has to offer, every student is sure to find something to be involved in. Elmhurst College is a diverse campus and has opportunities and programs for everyone.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I can just imagine the high school senior version of me, merely one year ago. Stressing over applications, scrambling for teacher recommendations, and trying to squeeze in as much fun as possible before I bid adieu to the school I was tired of. I had this weird notion that somehow, once high school ended, life was going to get harder, more intense, and I'd be on anti-depressants within the first year if I wasn't careful enough. What a gross misconception! Freeze frame like they do in movies, and one would find me spending countless hours in my Advanced Physics class, devoting many hours to understanding the material. College Me would approach High School Me, look her in the eyes and tell her that college and high school are NOT dangerously different from one another. In fact, they are quite similar. You are making moves to secure a future, meeting new people, embarking on new experiences, and finding yourself as a person. There is really nothing to fear about college. Everything usually falls in its right place, to quote Radiohead. I'd then leave the classroom, happy to have shed some knowledge to myself.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
In my opinion, the worst thing about Elmhurst College is that, being in a residential area, it is mostly a commuter school. Although I live on campus, many of the students go home after class which leaves campus rather empty and almost ghost like. On weekends campus is usually quite empty as well.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
If you are looking for a big "party" school with large class sizes where you can hide in the back unnoticed, then Elmhurst College is not right for you.
The greatest feature of Elmhurst College is its faculty. Both highly educated and respected, the professors who work at the college are engaging in class and compassionate towards their students. They are always responsive when questions are asked, and strive to help students reach their full potential.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
The environment at Elmhurst College is very chill. Its located in a prime spot too! In between classes there is plenty to do around the school. The class size is supposed to bre pretty small too which means if you need extra attention from a teacher its easier to get than having to deal with a additional 50-60 students per class.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
Elmhurst College has a beautiful campus, friendly students, helpful staff, and most importantly class sizes that are small enough to get attention but large enough where you aren't the only one in class.
