Florida International University Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about Florida International University? Why?

David

Probably the location. The Modesto Maidique is located in more of a suburban-type area, not like an urban or city setting, or a historic city-esque setting, which I feel would have more life to it.

Jessica

The worst thing about FIU is that it rains a lot!!! I live on campus so I know. For some reason, mother nature will not rest if it doesn't rain at least once for the day at FIU. Sometimes it will rain for several hours, which left me stranded in the library on a few occassions. If you attend FIU, make sure you own a jacket and a umbrella.

David

Most people at the university don't care about what they are learning and where they will be in a few years. People here are driven by fraternity life and what parties they will be attending during the weekend. As well, most class work is extremely easy for a college level class.

I don't think my school has much spirit, its mostly a commuter school so parking is awful and there are only a handful of dorms or frat houses. I just think that they aren't doing it right. I visit my friends at there schools and there is such unity there I can't see why we can't have the sam experience.

Jennifer

The school sometimes feels somewhat overcrowded. Some classes have oo many students and there aren't enough parking spots on campus for all the cummuting students.

Aneela

The worst thing about my school would have to be the traffic around the main campus.

Genesis

I can't really think of anything terribly wrong with this school. Unless, of course, you fall in with the wrong crowd. At that point, activities of questionable morality and legality appear, and there could be trouble for everyone involved.

Anthony

Being born and raised in Miami, it feels like it is simply a "13th grade".

Jennifer

The worst thing about my school is that is far from where I live. Everything else is great!

the worst thing is the large size of all the classes. Each class has over 200 stuendents so you never interact with the professor
